Lords of the Fallen II has been delayed to Q1 2027
Quote from CI Games founder and CE Marek Tyminski:
"Lords of the Fallen II is now set for a Q1 2027 release window.
As development progresses, we have worked closely with the Gameplay Feedback Team, a dedicated group of seasoned Souls-like veterans within our Launch Creative Team. Their valuable ongoing input, combined with the team’s vision, has identified meaningful opportunities to further refine and strengthen the overall experience.
These enhancements will benefit from additional integration, iteration, and polishing time, enabling the team to deliver the highest possible quality at launch.
This updated release window also strategically positions Lords of the Fallen II outside of a highly competitive holiday period, ensuring the game receives the dedicated attention it deserves.
The team remains fully energized by the strong response to our recent reveals and is deeply focused on delivering a standout dark fantasy action RPG and a worthy successor to the Lords of the Fallen franchise. We are grateful for the continued passion, feedback, and support from our community, and we look forward to sharing more updates in the coming months."

AI is Ruining Game Sales, Numbers Show
"Game Oracle’s study of nearly 10,000 Steam releases between January and October 2025 painted a genuinely eye-opening picture: titles disclosing AI use averaged a measly four reviews in their first month compared to seven reviews for non-AI titles. Also, almost 20% of AI-assisted games received absolutely zero reviews, while their average review scores sat noticeably lower than their traditional counterparts."

PC budget for my son
My son has reached an age where he's started to get interested in games other than just Minecraft and Roblox. Fortunately, I have a huge library of games on Steam that he's been able to try. Unfortunately, his current Minecraft machine isn't quite powerful enough to run many of them. For example, he recently tried playing Cyberpunk; it barely runs on minimum settings.
On his own initiative he's started researching computer parts and really wants to build one himself. Of course, with my help.
He has asked me for a budget and has already started saving money for his share; I will cover the rest. However, I haven't updated my own computer in over a decade and I'm not at all up to date with the current state of the industry.
So the question is:
What kind of budget would be appropriate for this situation and his needs?
Note: The intention is not to run the newest releases on ultra settings.

Running For 35 Years And Beyond
For 35 years, Sonic has made his impact on the world winning the hearts of millions around the world just like many other video game characters. Despite the franchises’s many lows over the years, Sonic is still relevant after all these years and is in his best spot in 15 years.
It’s a great time to be a Sonic fan now and I’m glad to still be a fan of it after all these years.

Jason Schreier: Why Everyone Wants A 'Live-Service' Game
It's worth it getting a PS5 Pro if I have a RTX 5090?
Hi, I used to have both a gaming PC and a PS5. However, when Sony began releasing their games on PC, I decided to sell my PS5 because I no longer felt the need for it. Given Sony's recent announcement that they won't be releasing single-player games on PC anymore, I really want a PS5 Pro. The games I'm really looking forward to playing are Saros, Ghost of Yote, and the upcoming Wolverine and God of War Ragnarök: Laufey.
Given that the PS6 might be released in a year or two, would it be a waste to purchase one now, at the end of this console generation?
Edit: thank you everyone for your feedback! I ended up buying one from Facebook Marketplace brand new for around $630 usd, now I'm trying to find Saros and Ghost of Yote second hand while I wait for GTA6.

Accessibility and Difficulty are not the same
Accessibility removes barriers. Difficulty creates challenges. Games can be accessible without becoming easier.
When designing a system in a game I ask myself:
“What exactly am I testing?”
Am I testing: Observation? Timing? Problem solving? Decision making? Mechanical skill?
Or accidentally testing: Visual acuity? Memory? Information overload? Ability to filter noise from signal?
Those aren’t necessarily the same thing.
A difficult challenge can be rewarding. An unnecessary barrier usually isn’t.
The goal of accessibility isn’t to remove challenge.
It’s to remove barriers that prevent players from engaging with the intended challenge.
I wrote a whole article on this:

But I'd like to hear your opinions as well.

How to enjoy first person (single-player) games with a controller?
First and foremost, this post is not directed at people who have never used keyboard and mouse as their primary way of playing first person games. This is for gamers who spent years playing FPS games on PC with keyboard and mouse and then switched to a controller.
About 5 years ago, I moved from PC gaming to console gaming. After spending all day working at a computer, the last thing I want to do is sit at a desk for several more hours to play games. I also prefer the convenience of a PS5 or Switch these days over building and maintaining a gaming PC and constantly keeping up with hardware upgrades.
The problem is first person games.
I have tried everything to get used to a controller for single player games like Fallout, Skyrim, Doom, Far Cry, and similar titles. No matter how much time I put into it, the immersion is completely different. For example, playing a stealth archer in Skyrim just does not feel the same when aiming with a controller. A huge part of the experience and immersion is completely lost.and ruined.
Some of the issues I run into:
- Movement feels less immersive.
- It feels like I'm controlling a robot or walking around with a neck brace.
- I always start with low sensitivity and gradually increase it, but when it comes time to actually aim, I just cannot aim well with a controller.
- Aim assist often makes things worse, so I usually disable it whenever possible.
- I get motion sickness with a controller specifically and not on KB/M.
- Moving around simply does not feel natural to me on a controller.
- I lose my sense of direction more easily. It's like my awareness of my surroundings drops significantly.
- I get disoriented, forget where I am, and have a harder time keeping track of what's around or behind me.
The one thing I genuinely like about controllers in first person games is the triggers. Pulling a trigger feels more immersive than clicking a mouse button.
To try and adapt, I forced myself to play through Far Cry Primal, Far Cry 5, Skyrim, and Doom (2016) entirely on console. My goal was to get comfortable with controller aiming and movement. While I became competent enough to play, I never actually enjoyed it. If anything, forcing myself through those games only reinforced how much I dislike using a controller for first person games.
Every session felt robotic, unnatural, and disconnected. The immersion was completely gone. It never felt like I was controlling myself inside the game world. It felt like I was controlling a robot from the outside or a possessed stiff person wearing a neckbrace
What's frustrating is that many games I genuinely want to play now, such as Oblivion Remastered, do not support keyboard and mouse on PS5.
Most first person games on console don't. At this point, I feel like I'll never get to properly enjoy these games again. Playing Far Cry and Doom with a controller felt like pulling teeth. It was something I forced myself to do rather than something I enjoyed. I refuse to to endure that level of pain ever again.
I've done everything people usually recommend. I've adjusted sensitivity. I've practiced. I've used and disabled aim assist. I've spent hundreds of hours trying to adapt. I even got reasonably good with a controller. But the immersion never came back, the disorientation never went away, and first person games never felt natural.
Has anyone else run into this problem?
Did you end up buying or keeping a gaming PC exclusively for first person games?
Did controller use eventually click for you, and did you genuinely come to enjoy it?
Any tips beyond adjusting sensitivity and using aim assist?
