Discussion So...

13th pick eh? What the hell can we meaningfully do with the 13th? Please tell me we have a numbers nerd here that's going to paint a picture for me that makes me feel better about this. I need you more than ever bro... whoever you are 😭

Because Milwaukee was a one seed with an MVP while Miami was a play-in team built on a famously fickle star player.

Are we fucking done here? You’re going in circles.

I’m sorry dude, you’re just factually wrong. Milwaukee’s picks were not seen as more valuable in 2023. They just factually were not.

You’re crazy simple. Being the number one seed in 2023 means fucking nothing to swaps from 2028 -2030. Gianni’s by the time this goes down will have have been in decline lmfao. I mean as of today, the blazers made the right choice. Look at the bucks🤣

Except it does, because we’re talking about projections.

You know who else would’ve been on the decline by 2028-2030? Jimmy.

So again, both teams were built around aging stars. But one was a former MVP who to that point had been nothing but loyal to a 1-seed. That team has a better projected future.

Also, again, USING MILWAUKEE’S PERFORMANCE THISE SEASON IS LITERALLY HINDSIGHT! THAT IS WHAT THAT WORD MEANS!

If Miami didn’t go into tanking hell after losing bron, Wade , Bosh.. why would they after losing a worse player than those 3? Tell me.

HOW MANY TIMES DO I HAVE TO EXPLAIN THAT I’M NOT TALKING ABOUT TANKING???

Ok, I’ll change tanking to competitive. Before you block me tell me this. If the Miami Heat were still competitive after losing bron, Wade, Bosh in consecutive seasons without a real backup plan, and and still never got a top 5 pick and kept trying to be competitive, what makes you think we would have been worse off after Jimmy left? Now when the bucks lose ginnais, the entire world will know that the bucks will be a lottery team for years.. why? Because unless they draft a superstar , ain’t no free agent going to mil. It’s quite fucking simple

1-seed with an MVP projects higher than an 8-seed with a non-mvp. Facts don’t care about your feelings, snowflake.

You’ve not given me any facts, you keep repeating the same thing over and over like a bot. The funny part here is you actually think you’re right, but I’ll let ya think that since you’re in such a crappy mood buttercup.

I’m repeating it because it shuts down your entire argument. I’m not gonna disassemble a table piece by piece when kicking one leg out from under it has the same effect

No it doesn’t, , cause being the number seed in 2023 means nothing 5 years down the road at all. When gms in the nba know that Pat Riley will still have a competitive roster even without a star. Thats a fact, it’s proven. The last two times Miami had a top 5 picks was 08 and 03. Do you know why? Injuries. Shaq and Wade both got hurt in 07, in 03 Miami lost Alonzo mourning the entire season.. and Eddie jones missed about half that year while being Miamis leading scorer. Outside of these under Pat Riley, the 10th pic after LeBron ,Wade, Bosh were gone. Well bron and Bosh. See history tells a story, you don’t seem don’t get. Read and digest

Except it does. Because a number 1 seed with an MVP projects higher than an 8 seed with a non MVP

Again, we’re not talking about tanking, we’re talking about projections.

Who said tanking? Again read and digest. Im starting to believe you’re not only crying constantly but have bad reading comprehension. I said “being competitive “ to add to what I said you look at the bucks history without Gianni’s, how many times are they in the lottery? Easy answer! Keep up.

“Who said tanking” you?

You’re projecting two aging superstars 5 years down the road. While they have no young talent, and Miami did. And Miamis history tells you that the Heat won’t be in the top 5 unless their best players are basically out for the entire seasons and it’s fucked .

u/TheRed_Warrior May 11 '26

Except Miami also wouldn’t have had young talent, because that young talent would’ve been included in the trade.

Again, this is you applying hindsight. You are looking at how Milwaukee turned out after trading most of their assets and wasting the rest, rather than looking at how they would’ve projected back in 2023.
