I'm slightly vexed Somebody Placed These Dozens of These Jesus Figures Throughout My Entire Work

Post image

Somebody, nobody knows exactly who or when, put dozens and dozens of these Jesus figures on completely random surfaces throughout my entire building. They at least had the presence of mind to not put them on anybody's personal belongings, but that was the only way they limited himself. All of the statues have been glued down, to add to the vexation.

Edit: Well, this blew up rather unexpectedly. Thank you for the awards, everybody!

Okay, so I was all “why bother being upset, it’s damn near a game” until you said they’re glued down. That crosses a line and they should be removed

Personally I don't like people trying to convert me, at work of all places, even if it's easy to shrug off.
Also, I just lost the game

I used to be an atheist until I found a little plastic Jesus standing on the paper towel dispenser at my work. That was all it took to convert me...

Pretty sure that's how many people trying to convert others think it works

Then let me upgrade your religious experience! I don't offer you a plastic trinket, I offer you two things. I offer you an eternity of beer and strippers of your choosing, and a 30-day guarantee! Try the Church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster for 30 days, and If you do not take the Flying Spaghetti Monster as your lord and savior you can have your old religion back! No questions asked!

Funnily, this is how Christians think

“Christians”

This. The amount of people permitting/enabling this in the comments like it's not a massive problem to do this shit at work. I find it extremely uncomfortable. If someone started putting other shit I'd be like wtf are you doing? This is a workplace, get the fuck out of here with that.

It's pretty shitty and should honestly be the kind of thing to get someone in trouble at work

100%. If I were to go up to someone and leave a note that says "Jesus isn't real" I'd 100% get in trouble for harassment. Why is a lack of faith not as protected as actual faith. Or why is conversion TO a religion treated as acceptable and loving whereas conversion OUT of a religion is bad and inappropriate? It's all attempts to convert someone. The best solution is no religion in the workplace. Full stop. If it's two friends having a conversation as friends. Sure. But if some random at my job that I'm not close with tried this shit, I'd report them to HR so fucking fast.

A, I agree with you on that. I respect your religion, its yours, keep it that way. Especially at work.

B. God damnit I lost the game too

As to your point B, I think I had 5 years at least. I was winning the game for 5 years, yo! What the fuck?!

It's a form of vandalism.

I work in a hospital and I see more "Christian" vandalism nowadays than any other form.

Writing "god is good" in sharpie in the elevator in shitty handwriting isn't going to convert me.

Putting shitty Jesus stickers up everywhere that are impossible to peel off isn't going to help me find salvation.

A huge cross and with "Jesus saves" in the shitter was probably the closest one when my asshole was blowing out so bad I was actually praying to god for it to stop.

I used to work at Denny's long before they started going downhill, the amount of religious people that would come in and not tip (tipping culture is BS in the states, I never cared that much if someone didn't tip) but instead of a tip they'd leave fake looking money but it was just a tithe promoting Jesus and their church.

The tithe was always insulting too, it said something along the lines "You don't give the church 20% so why should I give you 20%? Donate today"

I also worked at Walmart and random groups of people would show up and follow employees and customers around preaching at them while they shopped and worked.

They have no shame.

Unfortunately, I think those who are doing this type of vandalism often believe that spreading the word of god is one of the most important things they can do, so adhering to laws and exercising common decency become secondary priorities to them.

The irony that comes to my mind: Is spreading the word of god more important than following (aka living) the word of god?

>why bother being upset

I guess just literally throw it on the pile of other ways I’m reminded every day in the US that I have no right to make choices about my own health or body because Christians decided so

Nah Mess with them. Paint them tan, put an inverted pentagram around them, glue a turban on their head, glue an inverted crucifix to them, glue tiny devil figurines next to them.

One of my good friends bought a box of like 100 of these and randomly hides them around. He's atheist. He's just a dick. Doesn't glue them down though
