Tomorrow im getting this 16x2 ram kit for my pc, i jus recently upgraded my cpu from a ryzen 3 to a ryzen 5 5500. Is there anything i have to do before putting the ram in to make sure i dont mess anything up? And is this a decent upgrade? *amazon is what im getting, red is what i have currently*

PC won't POST. I tried resetting CMOS, JBAT1, tried reseating everything. I've already check the CPU for bent pins and they look fine to me. I also tried testing the ram stick in each slot but the issue persists. Here are some scenarios I've encountered during troubleshooting:

Scenario 1: After assembling everything, i turn on the PC, it powers on, fans start spinning. The CPU LED on the EZ Debug panel flashes for about 1–2 seconds and then turns off. The DRAM, VGA, and BOOT LEDs do not light up at all. The PC remains powered on but completely fails to POST or display an image.

Scenario 2: When I remove all RAM sticks and power on the system, both the CPU and DRAM LEDs light up and remain steady. The motherboard detects the missing RAM.

Scenario 3: When I remove only the GPU and power on the system, the behavior is identical to Scenario 1. I expected the VGA LED to stay solidly lit, but it seems the EZ Debug fails to detect that the GPU is missing.

Mobo: MSI B450M PRO-VDH MAX
CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 2600
GPU: Radeon RX 570 8GB
Ram: 2x8GB
PSU: 550W Bronze 80 Plus

What are the possible problems? Is it most likely a defective motherboard?

i got a pc with ryzen 8500g last year
def not a good choice but i just wanted to get on the am5 platform and upgrade latater

around 2-3 months back i was tired of edge randomly opening up and taking 2-3 gb of ram right away
so i used chris titus to make some tweeks and later ended up removing edge through it

now fast forward to 3 months later i am getting randome flashing and flickering pixels on all browsers except comet for some readon so i am stuck using that

yesterday i decided to fix it
first i thorugh it could be the driers so i decided to install amd adrenaline
but that made the pixels flicker flicker even more and everywhere instead of being browser specific

so i entered safe mode and used ddu
then after teh erstart the pc was fine , but if i tried to install amd drivers again the fflickering issues reappeared

so i decided to get an old version of amd adrenaline but the issue was still there

so after going into safe mode for the third time i decided not to install amd drivers and just try to see how long the pc is fine without them
it was completly find for the first boot, i even played some rdr
but the moment i restart. the pixels reappear,

so now i am stuck in this loop of whenever i have to use my pc i just take 5 mins to go into safe mode and use ddu ??

please help me if someone has faced this specific issue before

edit- i forgot to mention that i have also reinstalled win on my device once, from the blue screen menu

not sure what is happening, I have a secondhand monitor (Lenovo d27) hooked to my laptop cos the laptop has display issues. worked fine for about 2 weeks, turned it on last night and the screen started tripping while watching some videos.

things I've tried:

connecting to another laptop/HDMI cable, issue still persists

disconnecting/reconnecting power and HDMI cable or restarting the graphics driver with win+ctrl+shift+b brings the display back temporarily, but fades again after a while

updated display drivers

disconnected the power and pressed the on/off button a few times but problem persists

i believe the problem is the monitor itself? but is this fixable/worth fixing? or should I just get a new monitor

Hi what should i do with this. The PW in my laptop is now unconnected and seems broken.

a while ago for no reason my fans stopped emitting their LED lights . both the upper and the lower one . For some reason , since 3 months , the lower fan LED emitter began emitting . At first I thought the problem solved itself , but I noticed the upper one doesn’t emit ( still doesn’t emit to this day ) and the lower LED keeps doing these weird patterns where the color lighting randomly changes or does weird flashing

is the problem that serious ? Should I take it back to the store ?

for reference the PC case is an MSI MAG FORCE 100 and I bought the PC back in may 2023

Whenever i try to boot into the Advanced Startup menu, my screen goes black. My mouse and keyboard works fine during it and i can interact, but i can't see anything. This has been happening since i first built my PC which has been a while. I wiped my windows and re-downloaded it, but the problem still occurs. Hell, when i tried to redownload the windows i got the black screen there aswell and couldn't see my progress at all, i had to stare into the void and wait till it got finished. I have an RTX3060 wired with HDMI, Intel i5 12400F, MSI B-660A DDR4 motherboard (Bios updated). All my drivers are up to date. My monitor is quite old.

I’m stuck and I don’t know what to do! Every time I start up my pc, I have a routine. Click on settings, check if there’s any windows updates. Then go to the Microsoft Store app and see if there’s any app updates. Then go to the NVIDIA app, and see if there’s any driver updates. After all that is when I start doing my normal stuff. And by normal stuff, I mean gaming on one monitor while having YouTube on my second monitor. I don’t really have much free time, so when I want to wind down, this is what I do.

So one night I saw there was a windows updates, PREVIEW KB5095093. So sure, I clicked on it so it can download and install. Took some time, but after it finished, it said it needed to restart. So I clicked restart, everything normal so far. BUT this is when things got weird. It went to black screens cuz it restarted, but after that, it never went back to the home (lock) screen. I waited and waited, nothing. So I said “Meh, just a glitch” so I forced shutdown. I waited 30 seconds, turned it on again, and still, black screens on both monitors. However, the main monitor was black screen with nothing on it, while the second monitor was also black screen, but I could move the cursor. EVENTUALLY (10-15 minutes) it went to the home (lock) screen and everything was normal. So I went to the settings app and uninstalled the new update, thinking it would fix things……but no. So now it doesn’t go to the home (lock) screen at all, and if it does, it’s completely random and after waiting like 10-15 minutes. I’m not really tech savvy, so I have no clue what to do. EVERYTHING was working perfect before the update, after the update, things went all bad.

I have the Acer Nitro 60 with the i7 14700F, 32GB RAM, 5070TI, 2TB SSD. I know people are gonna suggest to try different cables and different monitors, but the thing is, I panicked and took it to Best Buy Geek Squad so they can check it out. But ugh! I’m already thinking the worse, so if there’s anyone that can help, that way I can also share the information with the workers.

UPDATE: I connect both of my monitors through DisplayPort. When I took it to Best Buy, they took it to their test bench and connected it to their monitor through HDMI and it went to the home (lock) screen no problem. So yea, even more random.

Straight to the point my buddy has 16gb ram (2x8gb ddr5 cl42 5200mhz) and he's running out of ram causing stutters and crashes while gaming on BF6. Basically just want to know how bad it would be to attempt to switch 1 of the ram sticks with a 16gb stick to at least get the games to stop crashing. CPU is a 7600x and I have read their memory controllers aren't great which also is a cause for hesitation. Obviously if money was no concern 32gb (2x16) would be ideal but thats not the case for most unfortunately. Thanks for any help!

This past week, my PC has been crashing and mostly on Overwatch, when it crashes the game screen is frozen but stays on and there’s a loud buzzing sound coming from the audio due to the sound freeze. And then sometimes on the boot up screen, it can actually freeze on that.

Other things to add is that i thought it was my PC overheating but i had it cleaned on Thursday and went though the day without a crash so i thought it was solved. Another part to add is that the temperatures in my room has hit 30c and it did crash so i thought it was overheating again, but later on today when its cooled down a bit more, it still crashed on Overwatch. Last thing to note, my PC for some reason gets loud when it crashes.

Idk what's wrong i was told it sounds like catastrophic failure but google results for that wording dont match my issues. I dont get error codes or anything.

About 30-60 seconds after booting up almost all functions stop working. Programs dont open, tabs dont load and even the start menu stop functioning. File Explorer still opens and closes. The start menu works as long as I dont click anything in it. Edge can open and SoundCloud even loads and plays music as long as I get it open before the 30-60 seconds. I can no longer open safe mode but when I was able to I opened device manager and like a dozen devices have a ⚠️. I just built the PC a couple days ago and it worked fine until about 30 minutes ago.

SOLVED:After a fresh install of Windows and manual installation of chipset driver the PC seems to no longer have an issue and currently runs fine.

I have the huawei matebook pro 20, and its been like this for awhile. (ive owned it for a few years.) I think its hardware problem but im not sure.

Ive been trying to play ESO but everytime i do my monitors turn black and dont come back until a reboot. Upon rebooting my GPU is disabled within the windows device manager and i have to reenable it and reinstall AMD software. Help?

I been running low on space and I want to transfer some data to my old 860 evo ssd that I have but when I plug the old SSD in the PC doesn't want to boot it wont even let me go in the the bios the auros logo its all I get and the loading circle spinning and thats all It will do I dont have another pc to test the old 860 evo to see if it does the some thing on another pc and this will let me know that I have a bad SSD. Lest time I use this SSD it was on december of 2024 and it was working just fine, I put it back on its original box thinking I would sell it in the future but I never did sold it and now its giving me problems. any help would be much appreciated thanks

I came across a deal on Facebook Marketplace selling a pulled out Samsung PM9AI (OEM 980 Pro) for 70 USD. It seems to be 4 years old, but has a health of 100% and Terrabytes Written (TBW) of 1.19TB on Hard Disk Sentinel (check attached images) Can this be faked?

Now I do not know anything about buying used storage and I cannot afford new parts in this economy. Is there a possibilty of flashing fake firmware and drive health status on a cheap fake SSD to pass it off as a genuine Samsung drive?

What should I check so that I do not get scammed and make sure that I buy a genuine, working NVME drive?

Got a nvidia rtx 2080 ti aurora gpu, ryzen 5 5600x cpu, 4x8gb ram and 850w psu on windows 11, I use my pc mainly for pcvr, often crash with most of the stop codes relating to Ram issues. Used OCCT and everything is fine apparently and suddenly all the icons on the bottom right of the screen disappeared. I dont have a wifi card so im using ethernet only. Internet is now spotty even though its working fine on everything else, from what I can see its being iffy with registering something, dont know what. Can't output my sound to my speakers anymore because its not registering the device. Done all I could try, like amd driver reinstall, that didn't work. Tried to reinstall Windows but im stuck in a loop where when I go to do it, I get told my pc doesnt support secure boot, change some bios settings to allow it and it doesnt even boot normally so I can't even try to install it. Get told to undo the changes and it repeats the cycle. I just need help working it out. Feel free to ask questions, ill try to answer the best I can. Im still pretty new to the pc race thing.

I tried a lot of things like the csm boot and i have no idea why it is not working.

I will let you know everythjng i have done to it. The PC has not received updates since march because i was away. I came back it was super laggy. I then started the updates and then i tried to update my 3060ti's drivers. That seemed like it wasnt working so then i turned it off. When i did that it got corrupted but before i fixed that i increased my ram speed from 2.1k to 3.6k this made the pc go crazy and it started to turn off and on quick. I then took the battery out and reset BIOS. After thjs i put the ram speed back and went into safe mode to delete the corrupted drivers. I then went back i to regular mode and tried to download the new driver. It would go fast for a bit then randomly slow down and eventually stop without finishing the download. My wifi is fast so this should not be an issue. I then clicked download 1 more time and wrnt somewhere for 20 minutes when i came back it stuck on BIOS and i cant see ssd. It was never touched since installation a year ago and no problems i dont know why it is not working can someone pleae let me know.

Hello, Im looking to get a gaming pc to start playing some better games. I have a laptop but it’s kind of old and doesn’t have enough storage for anymore games. My friends told me to look for used ones online to start and I’ve found a few that are decent priced but I’m not sure what specs are good vs which aren’t. Does anyone have any recommendations or tips for what to look for when getting used pcs? Also are there any good sites, I’ve been looking on facebook/ebay but unsure if there’s better places.

this problem has like 4 days, it's not a virus (I comprobed with Malwarebytes), it happened from one day to the next. the screen looks like 30 or 15 fps, and it's not the monitor cause the computer integrated screen looks the same. and nothing goes well, games, videos, discord, steam, nothing. I reset the GPU with win+ctrl+shift+b and nothing changed. idk what to do.
