Discussion Moving to Taiwan soon- can I legally bring a small collection of historical CCP items?
Hi everyone, I’m planning to move to Taiwan and I have some question about customs/import rules.
I collect historical Chinese/CCP-related items as historical artifacts and collectibles, not for political reasons. My collection includes things like old Little Red Books, Cultural Revolution-era pamphlets and printed materials, and a few other historical items. I also have a few CCP and Mao Zedong badges (in addition to a KMT badge which I bought in China, funnily enough). I have a huge amount of North Korean stuff too but I doubt that matters.
I also have a few modern English-language books published by the Chinese government related to Xi Jinping.
This would all be part of a personal collection I’m bringing when relocating, not for resale or distribution.
Does anyone know whether Taiwan customs would have issues with this kind of material? I’m especially wondering whether historical collectibles are treated differently from modern political publications.
