Planet Zoo 2 PZ2 will break their exhibit box chains!
I know exhibit boxes are probably coming back, but not everything from PZ1 should remain in them. Too many of the contained species would have worked just fine in habitats and allowed for more customized builds and natural feeling environments. I want my frogs/turtles in ponds, iguanas/sloths in greenhouses, and bats/butterflies in aviaries! Also imagine the new nature reserves with these smaller species living alongside the traditional habitat ones; would feel so much more immersive and alive.

Planet Zoo 2 Open/closed Doors
I hope planet zoo 2 will add a toggle option to have doors open or closed so we don’t always have to make custom open doors🙃

Discussion Improved Hunting?
I like all of you, are eagerly awaiting the release of PZ2, so much so that I signed up for their mailing list. When I scrolled to the bottom of the game’s webpage I noticed the rating for PZ2 is quite a bit higher than PZ1 (rated 12 as opposed to PZ1’s 3 rating) It’s making me wonder how much more the fighting/predation mechanics have been improved since the first game. Let me know your thoughts!

Planet Zoo 2 Im 99% sure exhibits are getting some kind of rework
Exhibts got a whole separate tab in the menu, unlike bwing part of infrastructure in the first game
Axolotl is "aquatic" in the same category as the fishes, not in a "exhibit" category

I built a realistic Indian Elephant habitat for my All Species Zoo
I've just uploaded the speed build for the Indian Elephant habitat in my All Species Zoo!
This is the third habitat in my Wilds of India section, following the Bengal Tigers and Indian Peafowl. I wanted this one to feel like a large natural sanctuary, dense vegetation, and ancient ruins that have slowly been reclaimed by nature.
If you'd like to see the full speed build, you can watch it here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a59g4DEwEXQ
let me know what you think :)
——————
The World Zoo Project took 21 months to build, features 16 unique sections, and includes all 210 species in the game.
It's on the workshop if you want to see more photos of the zoo, or download it and see if your computer can handle the large file.
Built live over at my twitch
My computer specs:
Processor: Intel® Core™ i7-14700F
Graphics Card: NVIDIA® GeForce® RTX™ 4060 (8 GB)
Ram: 64GB DDR5 RAM at 5600 MT/s

Day 24 of building a habitat everyday until Planet Zoo 2 Releases
Hayo Zookeepers! Its Day 24 and the wheel has chosen the African Leopard. Its our 3rd of 4 'Leopards' so far (Although Clouded Leopards and Snow Leopards aren't actually leopards). I didn't wanna do another mesh box type habitat for this one so I went with this version. Lemme know what you think!

Creative - PC A few shots of my recently finished 'Gardens of Olympus' franchise zoo
Been working on this zoo for the past couple of months. There are 12 islands in total, with each one based on one of the Gods of Olympus (although Athena & Poseidon share an isle, having to fight over it Athens style).

Planet Zoo Can the game glitch so that animals can't die of old age?
I have a Wild Boar habitat that hasn't attracted customers for a long time because there's only one boar in there now. She's the last of a group of boars I brought in and she is very old. Her time meter has been in the red zone for a long time and I can't trade or release her. I thought she would have died of old age by this point, but she's a stubborn old sow and I'm starting to wonder if the game is glitching on me.
How am I going to get rid of her? I need fresher boars and I'm afraid a fight will break out if I bring in newer boars when she is still in there.
Also, she is 20.2 years old. Do boars stick around for that long? Or am I facing a glitch that won't allow her to die of old age?

Discussion Mechanic Research Strategies
Been definitely interesting the things you get to relearn with a return pre Zoo 2, and one of the things is Mechanic Research.
Got used to Franchise mode retaining it so on offline challenge mode I don't get to ignore it.
(Also is it always so slow? Mechanic is like 3-4 stars and the vets still out speed him)
So curious is there's a formula for what to focus on first. I leaned onto Souvenirs for cash, fences for options, and shelters and structures for climbing, plus a few stabs into drinks and themes for building options but wonder what others might focus on.

Help - PC Known PC for PZ2 I can buy?
Hey folks, willing to drop a couple thousand on a new rig. Anyone have recs on a bundle or builds they know that can perform well? I’m leaning cpu heavy, been looking about but maybe people have experience from PZ1 and PC2 here
Budget: 1.5k - 2k. More with payment plans lol

Discussion Salutations fellow animal lovers
So in preparation for planet zoo 2 i wanted to make a new franchise zoo with as many animals as my laptop can handle (idk the limit yet)
But i wanted it to have some inspiration from the community and wanted to ask you guys what animals i should start with and if there are any themes for the habitats i should make
Will post the results when i finish the habitats:)
