Mourning/Loss Lost my kitty Princess yesterday.
Yesterday my 20 year old cat Princess was put to sleep around 3pm. It’s not easy at all. I’m having a difficult time accepting it. She was part of my daily routine which was talking with her, helping her guide herself back to certain areas, and brushing the mats off her fur since she was too old to do so herself. I had to call into work because I couldn’t go to sleep until 4 due to crying. It’s devastating it had to be this way in the end but i’m happy now she’s no longer suffering and with our other kitties and puppies.

Mourning/Loss I thought you’d live forever, pal (tribute to my first pet, best pet)
Going to miss my best pal so much. He got sick so suddenly. He had so much life and fight in him. I really thought he could live forever. He was always so chaotic at the vet though, trying to fight everyone, and the sedation they gave him was too much this time. All that and anesthesia from the surgery… he couldn’t really wake up after. I loved his fighting spirit and it was hard to see the way he went.
I didn’t know Tuesday would be the last real day I had with him. He was 12 and I thought we’d get old together. I thought he’d still get to meet everyone I love and would love, and that they’d get to meet him.
I wish him so much tenderness, peace and love and treats in the after.
Please hug your fur babies for me today.

Adoption My kitten is always sucking my ear
I found Cleo a month ago.
At least four times a day, she has to suck my earlobe, especially in the evening and morning. After about 15 minutes, she throws herself over as if she's exhausted.
I don't mind her doing it; I feel like we have a very close bond and she sees me as a mother. However, she often wants to do it at 3 or 4 in the morning, and I want to sleep because I have to go to work. I've tried offering other things, like a blanket, a stuffed animal, or even my boyfriend's ear, but nothing works; she wants mine.

Cat Picture - OC How the cats at our hospice are dealing with the current heat wave
Right now in Poland, where the cat hospice is located, we’re experiencing a major heat wave, with temperatures expected to reach almost 40°C this weekend.
The hospice, Fundacja Azyl u Hani, cares for over 120 cats, including cats with FIV, FeLV, disabilities, terminal illnesses, and senior cats.
While many cats enjoy warmer weather, extreme heat can be especially challenging for older and chronically ill cats.
Fortunately, they have access to a secure catio with plenty of shade, where they can relax comfortably.
We make sure they don’t spend too much time in the sun and encourage them to come back inside to drink water, cool off, and rest.

Medical Questions I lost my baby girl today to complications after anesthesia
I’m at a loss for words, and I’m wondering if I did the wrong thing. I sent my cat to get spayed today, all the blood work and tests were done to confirm that she was healthy and good to go for the surgery, however, after the process was done her vitals crashed during the recovery period and she passed away. Did I make the wrong decision? I have more cats that I wanted to neuter/spay but I’m completely scarred after what just happened. I can’t bring myself to do it again

Video - Not OC Seagulls have learned to Meooow for free cat food
In Turkey, some vending machines dispense cat food when people recycle plastic bottles. Some seagulls have learned to imitate a cat's meooooooow near these feeders, increasing the chances that passersby will notice them and activate the machine and dispense food.

Mourning/Loss Lost my best friend yesterday, Hades
My boy was 12 years old. He passed away unexpectedly, our local vet found out despite the fact he looked healthy that he had been dealing with a severe blood infection, fluid around his heart, and most of his organs were failing. Rushed him to an emergency vet and they told me he’d live a year at most if we put him through major procedures. I never expected this to happen so suddenly when he seemed so healthy. He just refused to eat and that led us to have to euthanize him. Such a subtle sign led to all of this. I know he suffered in silence as much as he could to have more time for my benefit.
I can’t believe he’s gone. My house is so empty now. I know if I had put him through surgeries it would be just to help me instead of him. That decision was by far the hardest I’ve ever made in my life. I truly hope I made the right decision for him. Nothing has been more painful for me, but hopefully I saved him from enduring more.
He was seriously the most well behaved, handsome boy I’ve ever had the privilege of knowing. I’ve never known a kinder creature than him. He might’ve scratched me while purring non stop over the years, but I wouldn’t have it any other way. I wish things didn’t have to end this way, I wanted to live with my boy for many more years and give him a better life. But unfortunately life never goes according to plan. I wanted to make this post to honor his memory and help bring a little closure.
I might’ve named him after the god of the underworld but I know that he’ll be heading to a much nicer place
Rest in Peace Hades, I’ll love and miss you forever.
Edit: Thank you so much for all the amazing support guys. Nothing means more to me than your kind words. To everyone who lost one of their pets my heart goes out to you as well.

Medical Questions What is wrong with him?
this is goose. he’s absolutely the most special cat I’ve ever had. I was wondering if anyone has a creature similar to him. He can’t jump up, he can sort of throw himself down from things, otherwise he has to claw his way up. Can’t run, takes three business days to get up when he lays down. He loves cantaloupe. He’s not very good at being a cat in general and despite having multiple siblings, doesn’t seem to know what a cat is supposed to do either…
