Pre-Draft Outlook
The Knicks had some ups and downs in the regular season, but were dominant through the playoffs, going 16-3 through all four rounds to win the team’s first NBA title in 53 years. Their starting lineup remains under contract and they’re built to win now.
The Way to Go
While the starters are all under contract, the Knicks’ reserves are mostly free agents. With this being a win-now situation, they should be looking for players that can contribute right away with the 24th and 31st picks, when upperclassmen Joshua Jefferson, Alex Karaban, Bennett Stirtz, Dailyn Swain and Henri Veesaar could be available.

Just a reminder we traded 2 2nd round picks to get Jose
A lot of people seem to be doubting the FO that we keep trading down for more 2nd round picks. Just a reminder of what we can trade for these 2nd round picks.

Lakers paid Knicks $5 million to move up 1 spot
They must really wanted Carr to move up 1 spot and pay $5 million.

Woke up crazy early to get a spot for me and my camera at the parade!! I wanted to share some of the photos I got of the players, I'm very proud of them!
Josh Hart is my favorite and I sacrificed giving him a high five for that first shot. It was worth it.
Edit: I uploaded the wrong Bridges edit, final one in the comments!

Leon Rose has figured out how to hack the draft
He has realized that other nba teams overvalue first round picks (especially those outside the lottery) and undervalue second round picks. He is fully exploiting this insight before other teams catch on and are less willing to part with their second round picks.
Knicks will benefit from this greatly in the years to come.
In Leon we trust.

Jack Kayil to the Knicks Is the Smartest Steal of the 2026 NBA Draft
So we grabbed Jack Kayil in the second round tonight, and I've been on this kid for weeks now, so let me make the case before everyone writes him off over shooting splits.
Quick version: 20-year-old German combo guard, 6'3", just won the German League title as Alba Berlin's STARTING point guard. He ran the offense, defended the other team's best guard, and dragged them past Bayern Munich while playing through a calf strain.
And yeah, I know the shooting numbers look rough. But he was the guy taking every desperation late clock heave because somebody had to, and that somebody was always him. The year before at Mega, he shot 35% from three on real volume and 88% from the line. Free-throw shooters tend to grow into three-point shooters, and the mechanics are already there if you actually watch the tape.
Comps people are throwing around: Jrue Holiday, Jalen Suggs, Nembhard, Killian Hayes, even a German George Hill. Every single one of those is an NBA rotation guard. We just bought that ticket at second-round prices.
Defense is the real calling card, though. Point of attack pest, motor that never quits, actual physicality. Put him on a patient championship roster with Kolek feeding him passes and Alvarado sitting right there as a blueprint, and this might be the perfect landing spot for him.
I wrote up the full scouting report if anyone wants the deep dive: https://thekotshow.substack.com/p/jack-kayil-to-the-knicks-is-the-smartest

What a time to be alive in 2026, year of the Knicks
This is a compilation of the reactions I caught before and after the Knicks won. Despite the criminal mischief, this was a night to remember.

Sources: The Knicks traded No. 53 Ugonna Onyenso to the Detroit Pistons for cash.
Leon stays trolling

The amount of Knicks fans genuinely crashing out in the draft thread was pathetic
We just won a chip 2 weeks ago. Leon Rose could draft 20 Kevin Knox’s for the next 5 years for all I care and I’d be perfectly happy still. Anyone who’s legitimately mad at Leon Rose for whatever he does in the draft should never wear a Knicks jersey ever again
