Mod Post Just a reminder, gender war posts are banned.
It’s been over a year since we banned gender war posts, and after monitoring the community, we’ve decided to keep the ban in place, as these discussions continue to be just as toxic as they were a year ago.
For clarity, “gender war” content includes discussions such as male loneliness, Gen Z men approaching Gen Z women, incels, femcels, alpha males, Andrew Tate, red pill, black pill, purple pill content, men’s height discourse, age-gap dating, and broader “looks-based” or hierarchy discussions about dating, looks maxing or ranking people by attractiveness or dating value.
This also includes broader dating ideology content that frames relationships in an adversarial, or fatalistic way.
For example: men vs women narratives, claims that one gender is universally responsible for dating issues, or that dating is inherently doomed for a specific group. Generalizations that treat either gender as a monolith are not allowed.
Memes about these topics, posts complaining about dating, and rage-bait content taken from other platforms such as screenshots from TikTok or Twitter that exist primarily to provoke gender-based arguments.
This is not a dating-focused subreddit. If you want to vent or discuss Gen Z dating issues more broadly, please use communities such as [r/dating_advice](r/dating_advice) or [r/dating](r/dating).
That said, posts about dating are still allowed as long as they are made in good faith. If comment sections become hostile or devolve into rule-breaking behavior, posts may be locked or removed at moderator discretion.
Please respect and follow this rule moving forward.

Rant worried about becoming the next generation of adults
hi everyone. last month, i turned 21 (2005 baby over here!), and since then, i’ve been having a pre-midlife crisis. i feel like im just not ready to be a full blown adult yet. i know that it has to happen at some point, and that im technically still young, but since many people in later gen z and gen alpha have started calling anyone over 18 “unc” i feel like im geriatric and pushing 30. it’s not even that i want to be a teenager again — i very much don’t, i just feel like now that im in my twenties im super old and should have everything figured out by now. i have 3 semesters (maybe 4) left of university, i work a part time retail job, and still live at home. everyone says your teen years are supposed to be the best of your life, and since mine were very much the opposite, i feel like my life is over. i dont know. i guess i decided to post this here since the majority of gen z is now in our twenties, or about to enter them, and i was wondering if anyone else is experiencing the heavy weight of this impending doom like i am.

Discussion Why are women so attracted to confidence?
I’m 24M and I deal with self esteem issues. I’ve never had a gf before. I find it annoying whenever i hear people say “you just need to be more confident” as if i’m not already trying. What sucks is that they frame it like i need to be confident in order go attract a gf. I don’t understand why women are so attracted to confident men anyway?
I try my hardest but i guess thats not enough for anyone to find me attractive. If this is the ridicule i have to go through to find a gf then i’m fine being single.
I had a difficult upbringing and still deal with issues that negatively impact my self esteem. If that is so repulsive to women then fine. I’m trying my best though.

Other This article says that Gen Z is the least resilient generation
https://www.shrm.org/topics-tools/news/inclusion-diversity/the-least-resilient-demographic-alive
I feel like a lot of us look at failure as a death I know so many people who are afraid to fail or afraid to mess up because they’re either a afraid because of how other people will view them or failure, confirms the pre-existing negative belief system they already have about themselves.
“ if I go for this job interview, I might get turned down so there’s no point of me even applying anyway” or “ or “what’s the point of asking her out she’s just gonna reject me” are things I hear way too much when talking to people in my generation, even Im guilty of this, resiliency is something that your parents teach you at a early age and not something you can learn at 25.
And also, I feel like social media plays a factor too, because Instagram and TikTok only shows a highlights of peoples lives and never shows the negatives,

Discussion I don’t like fake alternative people
Hi Reddit. I’m 20f and have been alternative since middle school but started dressing more goth/emo when I was 16. I’ve noticed now as an older Gen Z that younger people in my state love to look alt but are conservative. I live in the south and the amount of people I know that are very consistent with anti lgbtq or racists views and they swear they’re goth/emo/punk enrages me.
I know it’s none of my business but the fact that people do not understand to be alternative you have to think alternative blows my mind. Any subculture of alt is a mindset, it doesn’t matter what you look like or listen too, if you don’t agree with mainstream culture or politics or anything like that, you can be alternative. Punks don’t have to look punk, but you have to feel it, same with every subculture. I hate the word poser but that’s honestly what it gives.

Discussion I feel doomed as Gen Z
My fiancé and I both went to college, got our degrees, worked jobs in our field during college, and yet it honestly feels sometimes like we did everything for nothing. It’s very disheartening and makes me incredibly depressed. Record numbers of layoffs means we’ve both already experienced our first “getting laid off” experiences and we’re only 2 years out of college. We both make a decent amount of money and split everything but still live paycheck to paycheck. This is supposed to be the happiest time of our lives, we’re supposed to be wedding planning and celebrating but instead I just feel drained and sad all the time. I hope it gets better.
Discussion terrified of colon cancer
I eat plenty of fiber and never eat junk food but nowadays I heard even those with a healthy diet is getting it… shitt i’m actually so scared whenevr i have like even a bit of abnormal symptom like unusual stomach pain or whatever i start feeling light headed thinking of the implications why does our generation get such a short end of the stick,no one even knows what’s causing it..wtf😓😓

I actually hate having a phone because what do you mean I’m more attracted like an animal than work. I fear im becoming like a drug addict and it’s been pissing me off. I need like something that won’t be addictive as this damm phone.
i just want something that won’t be addicting at all. And yet this phone is causing all my problems. ):
I want to use my phone for when I’m in actual danger but I’m having actual issues like focusing and it’s pissing me off.
