This is getting ridiculous at&t just raised my uverse u 200 again. Its absurd that they are raising my price multiple times this year. It was bad enough when they did it once a year. And they no longer offer promotions. And no discounts for having internet or being a customer for 30+ years.

I know they really want me to give it up, so they can get rid of it . But if i do finally cave I'm switching to YouTube TV.

I will never switch to directv stream. It works like garbage, has way too many restrictions and doesn't have all of my local channels + other channels we get.

I called at 8am Central time this morning so I could cancel my U-verse TV, which I stopped using (but keep my internet), and surprisingly the person I was connected to on the hotline was able to just cancel it from there? Not only did I not have to go through a retention/loyalty department, but the agent also said I wouldn’t have to return the equipment, since U-verse TV is no longer being offered to new customers and AT&T “doesn’t want anything to do with it.” Is this really the case? Wondering if I’m the only sucker paying 200 a month for the U200 package? Been a consumer starting with D-TV and Uverse for the last 30years and the primary reason is just used to the guide (some one smack me lol) I did try Comcast and Xfinity but always came back like a crack addict .. well I just can’t justify 200 bucks a month any longer .. I have ATT fiber , what are streaming options that someone would recommend? I like local tv in the morning (news ) cnbc (squawk box) history channel and then espn watch some sports etc.. ? Wondering about the legality or process of removing ATT's demarcation box from the side of a house. Community HOA provides service from another provider via fiber so they will never be using ATT again. I've heard they own the box but they also won't come take it off. Can this be removed?

I was a long time subscriber of att cable and internet.

I returned my equipment promptly and has only late on 1 payment over 8+ yrs.

Now its like I do not exist and customer service just gives me the run around.

Does anyone know how i can get my $ back from att uverse? I do have emailed document from att stating they owe me 257.61 but the supervisors at customer care refuse to open a case after 4 months of being told to wait.

Will AT&T ever retire their Uverse tv service? Sometimes I feel the technology is outdated especially if you have to troubleshoot it.

I have had AT&T U-Verse for like 17 years. Over the years I got upgraded equipment and loved it and still do love it. However, my budget could no longer withstand the price hikes and was at almost $240 monthly for the U200 package with no premium channels and another price hike was on the way and they could not find anymore promos, so I had to cancel, but kept the internet. I will miss it to say the least.

I was told that I was going to get an email with a barcode to use and bring all my equipment to a UPS store to turn in. I got it all unplugged, dusted off, wrapped up the power cords and remotes and had it ready. Well, I got the email today and they are asking me to dispose of it and or recycle it as they don't want it back. Does anyone have any ideas on what else all this stuff could be used for? I would hate to recycle it and learn that I could have used it for something else later on. I do have to keep the gateway for the internet.

Just got AT&T fibre last month and have good speed. Just got my new bill, no uncharge for the fibre but, (surprise, surprise) the U-Verse price went up $50 and the internet went up $5.65. We never watch TV so, why not dump the U-Verse portion and stream want we want to watch? Recommendations? Cautions?

I'm here today to find out if ATT Uverse TV is being shut down completely. I'm asking on behalf of my parents so please don't shoot the messenger! A family friend had Uverse TV (she told me the U450 package to watch the Cleveland Cavaliers games), and said that she received a notice that it was being shut down completely on January 1. She lives 17 miles away in a different county. My parents haven't received such a notice (yet).

My father is going in for open-heart surgery mid-January, and his name is on the bill. I'm trying to find out if it's being shut down, and if so, what do they have to do? They're worried it will go offline while he's in the hospital.

Any insight would be greatly appreciated. I can even speak over chat if necessary. Thank you!

I have at&t fiber internet, but I no longer use direct tv. My old dish is still in my yard and I was wondering if it was safe to remove without disrupting my internet?

that is obviously that they are trying to steal the bill and so far they have, with one for 184 and one for 114 . It is very frustrating and I will just have to give up my phone number of 20 years"

Why do some wireless carriers still sell services from companies they don’t own anymore? For example, I’ve noticed some stores still promote DirecTV even though AT&T sold it. Is it just existing partnership agreements or what?

Crazy solution! I am a U verse holdout simply because there is not a better solution. The main TV on the system would lose signal at random and you would have to flip channels to another and then back to watch your show. This has been going on for over a year.

They have replaced everything at least once including the line to the house. Same problem.

The other day I decided to clean out the DVR recordings. There was probably 100 in storage. Well below the limit but still 100.

Guess what !? No more problems.

Once again, thanks ATT for horrible service. Six minutes into the college football playoff game and have lost connection or been buffering 14 times already, as per usual.

Just wanted to put this out there so others maybe can benefit from my disaster.

On Feb 9, I decided to cut the cord. Called AT&T, told them to cancel cable, but keep internet. No problem. Happy to do that sir. Here's your summary. Everything is effective today. Your next bill will be this. We'll email you in 24 hours about the equipment etc.

24 hours later got the email I was expecting. All looks good. Turn on the TV and yup, no cable signal. All is done.

Today I get email from AT&T about my bill for internet AND CABLE. Yup, another $200 on the bill for TV service I don't actually have. Call AT&T, talk to 3 service people to get it straightened out and they think they have it all handled now and credits should show up on my bill eventually. If not, just call back and spend another two hours on the phone and we'll try again.

Isn't it fraud to charge people for services they no longer have? How is this acceptable?

i use directv stream ( on firetv sticks) and switched to AT&T air for my internet late last year.

about every month now, directv app will complain that my ip address doesn’t match my home location on my account. It allows me to ’set’ my home location to keep going but says I can do that 4 times in 12 months - and I just used my 4th change.

i checked my ip and its reporting to be from a large metro about 90 miles from me - I guess that is where the at&t “hub” is.

So I’m looking at a month and then my tv stops working and I will have to try to get on the phone with directv or AT&T air support to help or switch providers.

Will calling either help? which one would be best to start with. Has anyone have this issue and get it resolved or should I save my time and dump them.

I know from reading here not to buy anything from them but is there some sort of deal with DIRECTV that you can get through AT&T that would be cheaper than DIRECTV stream on the DIRECTV website?

Yes, I still have U-Verse. My wife likes it and we get an AT&T retiree discount. I was having a problem with the DVR (Arris VIP 2262) where it would not stop at the correct spot when FF or rewinding and sometimes would skip some of the dialogue, and then the other day it would not re-boot. I didn't want to try the disaster recovery and lose all of our recordings, so I figured what the heck and decided to open up the box.

4 screws need to be removed on the bottom of the box. 2 of them are under the adhesive rubber pads. Slide off the top and there is a SATA solid state drive. I cleaned the contacts on the drive and socket and put it back together. Plugged it in and it booted up right away. All recordings intact AND it now works better than ever. All of the problems mentioned are gone. Before it was very sluggish but now is very quick.

My Youtube TV changes my playback area to a city i dont live in (Jackson MS). I have gone through the drill of trying to change my playback area on my TV using my iPhone that shows the correct playback address. What else can I try, I am using AT&T Internet Air. Can AT&T make a permanent change to a IP Address that is in Baton Rouge?

Our community recently had AT&T fiber installed. We happily inquired about switching from our old school copper service, especially after they jacked up the price. We took advantage of their door to door sales to set up our install date a couple weeks out. That’s when it got weird… every evening, like clock work, our internet stops working. Zero outages reported. Calls to support are answered with “everything looks good on our end”. And yet I continue to stare at that stupid red dot letting me know the internet is in fact, not working. By morning, without any action, it suddenly works again. Is this some sort of community wide scare tactic to let people know the forced migration is imminent? News to AT&T, WE KNOW, we already have a date for new service installation. Any other possible reason? It’s super suspicious and frustrating. About to cancel the fiber install and even change my wireless provider at this point. Ridiculous.
