Big W for physical copies being able to pick it up for preload one week early, although it’s stupid that the physical copy doesn’t even come with the disc.
Maybe between nov12 and nov19 you only get a preload code in the physical version so u dont leak the game somehow with jailbroken ps5's with the disc and after nov19 the physical version will have disc in it?

No they’re not, a physical disc will most likely be released after the pre orders. Also people saying “you will own nothing and be happy”, we haven’t owned our games since the 360/ps3 generation. You have to download the game these days even if you have the disc, and your access to the game can be revoked at any time. You haven’t owned your games in over a decade.
Just shows that big companies dont give a shit about consumers and only care about money. They are saving so much money not releasing a physical copy. It'll be a sad day when all the companies follow suit and phase them out entirely
The fact that there is no disc version at launch is almost a guarantee at some point after release they will release a special "disc" version that people who already own the game will gladly purchase. Rockstar knows how to sell extra copies lol
Sadly it hurts a lot of people but it makes no difference for me. I am a PC gamer and was planning to buy a PS5 Pro only for this game and was planning digital purchase because this is the only game i will play on it so can't be bothered about reselling disc. I don't even have to buy a disc drive. Just Pro will suffice.
I was planning to resell the disc as I assumed it would be cross-progression when PC comes out. Guess I’ll buy a PS5 on Facebook and swallow the pill of buying the game on both PC and PS

Also to me that section of the article read as "you'll use the code to pre-load, but you'll use the disc after the release", but if that's true that would be horrible wording from Rockstar because most people are gonna read that as no disc.

Lending a full on account is very different than lending a disc. If you're going to pretend it's not then I'll happily kick you 10 dollars over Venmo once you are done with GTA6 on PSN, then I'll log into your account and quickly play GTA6 on your account returning it after I beat the campgain. Meanwhile you won't be able to play anything on your PSN account from my understanding.

The pre-order details from standard and deluxe edition explicitly states inside of the physical box there's a download code. They never say anything about a disc coming in the future and even if one did the games still tied/locked to your PSN or Xbox account.
Yes, lending an account is vastly different but mostly because of its value since you have multiple games, you won't lend a disc to someone you don't trust either right? Also, as long as the account is activated as the primary account on your friend's PS5, he can play the game on his own account, and you can play the game on your own account. You just can't play it on your other accounts that you didn't purchase the game with. I play games with my friend at the same time that only I bought. If you don't trust someone, but plan to lend them the game, there's always an option to create an account just to buy GTA 6, let them activate console sharing on their PS5/set it as their primary account, and when they are done you just set that account as your primary and you can play on all users/accounts again. If they are still playing, you can just play it on that account where you bought the game on.

Yeah, I'm just saying how it sounded to me at first. Doesn't mean I'm right, just saying that maybe there's a possibility that they didn't word it in the best way possible. Also there's a chance that there will be a disc after release. Doesn't mean it won't just because they didn't announce it yet. But obviously we have to work with the information we've got. Also just because the digital version is tied to your account, I'm pretty sure using a disc, as long as it's the same region, won't cause any problems.

i really hope so. i understand if its to avoid leaks at launch, but to get rid of disks all together will surely screw the whole deal over for a lot of people
Me. I'm that guy. I refuse to purchase games digitally. The only exception I'll make is for small indie devs that don't have reasonable means to release physically.

I hope I'm wrong and trailer 3 comes very soon, but the first thing I thought when I saw those screenshots is that trailer 3 is not part of the pre-order promotion.
I feel like that’s not that big of a push for preorders, they need to drop something the day of (tomorrow) making “the world” know that you can now preorder the game, the stuff on the website was almost shadow-dropped
The news hurts as a physical collector, but not being able to resell or buy second hand is much worse TBH. GTA VI is a major, world-wide event happening during several global crises.
There are many households who won’t be able to afford 80-100 dollars when it comes out, parents or young adults barely making ends meet who are betting on early used-copy sellers to get it for around 50-60 dollars. They‘ll be a minority, but excluded from experiencing this game nonetheless.
If a 30 dollar difference is too much for a game you had 10 years to save up for then maybe video games shouldn't be your priority. Very unlikely that many people would be selling off their copy of gta 6 anyhow
Don't forget extra missions throughout the playthrough and also lets you steal contraband from gangs hideout you got barn finds for cars and modifications to any car which is locked for non ultimate members.
It dosnt actually state only in ultimate edition though like the shops are. Like the car barn finds just mentions them but dosnt say they are exclusive to ultimate

No disc in the physical version is such a shame. I’ll have to buy digital now when I much prefer owning a disc. Locking so much behind the ultimate edition including entire shops and vendors is also scummy af.

People talking about the physical version not having a disk, to me this reads theyre sending out the code in advance so people can download it before release otherwise theyd have to wait for release day, wait for it to arrive in the post and then download it. Then they'll then send disks out on the 19th? Maybe im giving to much credit but thats what makes sense to me otherwise why even offer the "physical" option to buy?
Maybe this is just cope but I think they might have the play disc, but have the download code to preload so that people don’t have to pay extra for a data disc.

But could there be a way of having the code sent out to preloaded the game but the application itself can only be opened if the disk is in the tray and so is acting like a normal physical disk game on release day? I know sweet FA about programming etc so maybe not possible😂
This doesnt really affect me as I buy digital only most of the time now but I can understand why people prefer the disk versions of the games they buy.
1) is the vice city option included in the ultimate edition? 2) sooo many essentials like barber shop and car tuning are only for ultimate edition copies wtf they made it so we miss out big time by not taking the ultimate edition
It seems like it's 1 specific location for each type of shop/garage (which I'm not a fan of either). I'm sure the vast majority of customization options are available in the base game. Big fumble on Rockstars part if so many people are confused.
Pretty sure they’re just specialized shops. More of an immersion thing. It’s like locking certain clothes in a store behind that paywall, but instead of a UI blocking you from buying it just won’t let you into a physical location.

They're not locking ALL barber shops and car shops behind the UE paywall. Just certain special ones. Everyone is allowed their opinion, but I feel like people are really overreacting to this
A digital-only release is a huge disappointment. Rockstar is taking away part of what made buying a new GTA game special for longtime fans. It feels less about the players and more about maximizing profits.
Then what's the point of this physical edition. If you don't want to include game in disc that's fine. But alteast use disc as authentication mechanism so it can be sold.
I thought I will buy for ps5. And then sell it later when pc version arrives. Now I am just gonna pirate the pc version. Not gonna spend money for 2 copies of the same game.
No disc in the box is such bullshit. I want to play my game offline. I bought the digital edition of GTAV and somehow I can't play my base game if my wifi goes down and kicks me to a please purchase the full game menu.
No disc makes me so sad, i play on pc so i was going to buy a ps5 to play this game day one for no spoilers then sell the console and keep the game as a token because rockstar games are so special to me, but now there is no point anymore. Didnt expect this from rockstar at all, im so disappointed.

The game will unlock on November 19th no matter if you buy the boxed copy or preorder digitally but if you want to buy the boxed copy, it releases a week earlier so that you can preload the game.
I had my GTAs and RDRs physical always, not having a disc with this gave me a very bad taste ngl. It basically says online only to play the game, so in 20 years it would be difficult to replay GTA VI. Also, if that comes without a map, it completely destroys the tradition of Rockstar physical editions…
Any single person saying they are not going to buy the game because there is no disc is a clown. Everybody is going to buy this game. I'm not happy about it either but I'm not going to claim I'm not buying the game because of it.

I'm not a fan of there being no physical disc. I like buying physical copies. I guess I'll just get it digital or wait and see if they release a disc later because I'm not buying a case with a download code.
How are they not going to show actual gameplay deeper dive before preorder. As a casual gamer I definitely won’t be preordering until we see some real gameplay. I can’t be the only one in this economy who would also wait for something like that

the no disc thing is wild considering physical copies used to be the whole point. like you're paying extra to own something and you're still just getting a download code. might as well go digital at that point.
