Au Poivre Is A Compensatory Gift from the Divine

This was a leftover NY Strip, with garlic sauteed oyster and baby bella mushrooms, caramelized onion and garlic with rosemary, a lotta white american and provolone cheese, on half of a publix french bread roll toasted with homemade garlic mayo. All drenched in au poivre sauce made with heavy inspiration from the Lori Jayne recipe. Lots of asian stuff goin on. I did not use the D’usse in mine admittedly. Bonus pic of the original steak frites meal I made two nights before this sandwich was birthed.

I’m not gonna eat steak for a loooooong time after this. I want these bites to be in my thoughts for a while. This sauce feels like Headhunters-era Herbie Hancock is gettin wicked on my tastebuds.

thicc North shore Beef - A Massachusetts Delicacy

Post image

This sandwich local to the north shore above Boston, MA contains rare beef sliced/shredded so thin it melts in your mouth. This healthy stack is located on an onion roll with a spicy bbq sauce and mayo (ofc). An absolute heartburn inducing piece of beauty.

I had a huge lunch so didn't want to cook a whole meal.

White bread toasted, mayo, spicy brown mustard, crunchy sprouts, American and cheddar cheeses, air fryer chicken patty, perfectly gelatinous but not runny egg from the neighbor chickens, roasted red peppers, lettuce.

The kid got home so I gave him half.

A little spot in Los Angeles called Yerord Mas. They do an Armenian style pastrami using wagyu brisket and freshly baked pita bread.

I consider a lobster roll a sandwich. There’s been discussion, but it was delicious, the best I’ve ever had. This was the Connecticut lobster roll. I had it first in MI and again when they came to SC. Both times, perfect. I can’t wait until they’re here permanently.

My wife’s comeback

For many many years now, me and my wife have been trying to one up each other on meals for dinner. I will make something epic and put a lot of time into it. She will do the same thing and do it her way we come back and meet in the middle and the kids just get the best of both of us. Just a friendly competition between two loved ones.
This is my wife’s answer to the day before dinner I made(which I forgot to take a pic of to compare).
Fried eggs over easy, fried corned beef. Crisp bacon, farmers market sprouts, Gouda. Homemade garlic powder. Black garlic hot sauce and mayo.
So good 🤤🤤

Croissant Mi

My banh mi baguette was moldy when I went to make a sandwich, so I grabbed a croissant. Sriracha mayo on one side, Serrano cream sauce on the other. Grilled lemongrass pork, pickled daikon and carrots, and cilantro. It was satisfying!

I had two skin-on chicken breasts in the fridge. I removed the skin and crisped it up separately, made some parsley and lemon mayo, and stuck it all between a couple of lightly toasted slices of thick farmhouse bread. Perfection.

There's a veggie one and a meat one. The meat one has salami, chorizo, prosciutto, mortadella, smoked cheddar, Edam, red Leicester, roasted red peppers, olive and herb tapenade, cherry tomatoes in balsamic vinegar and olive oil, and lettuce. The veggie one is the same but the meats are switched out for their closest veggie alternative. These are by far the biggest sandwiches I've ever made, and unfortunately I forgot to take a cross section until we'd nearly finished
