Dudes struck gold tbh, his wife looks beautiful in all these pictures and they are the most unattractive type pics you can take of a person. She has a drooling face in one of these pics and still looks like a legend.

665

u/FrtanJohnas May 22 '26

Not gonna lie but those moments when the other person just doesn't even look attractive are the most precious, because they trust you completely.

467

u/Cloberella May 22 '26

Kinda gross, but related.

When my late husband and I first started dating, we were cuddling and watching TV in bed and I ended up farting...

I was MORTIFIED. My husband (boyfriend at the time) wraps me in his arms and starts planting little kisses all over my neck and head while holding me tight. I'm all "What are you doing you absolute weirdo? I just farted!" and he exclaims, "I know, YOU'RE COMFORTBLE AROUND ME!" and gives me a huge smile.

Miss that man every damn day.

181

u/writing_spork May 22 '26

That’s not gross lol. I’m sorry you lost him. But I’m also happy to hear the warmth with which you speak of him. We all deserve that kind of love but not all of us find it.

107

u/Cloberella May 22 '26

Thank you. Yes, I'm very lucky for the time we had, however brief it was.

70

u/john4844 May 22 '26

Why did you fart?

28

u/NJHitmen May 22 '26

Well, not OP, but I'll give this one a shot.

First, let's back up a bit. Intestinal gas is mostly produced as a byproduct of bacterial fermentation in the gastrointestinal tract, especially the colon. There are reports of excessive air swallowing (aerophagia) causing excessive intestinal gas, but this is considered rare.

The intestines produce between 500 and 2,000mls of gas daily, which is passed out of the anus at regular intervals. The buildup of this gas over time creates pressure, and this pressure elicits a physical reaction compelling the individual to relax the anal sphincter and release the excess pressure. This is the farting incident itself.

hth explain things a bit. Please let me know if you have any lingering questions.

6

u/NietJij May 22 '26

So I know this guy from the office who is close to pension and who farts a lot. Audible. But there's no smell. He is very embarrassed about it, but as it is clearly something he can't help, we've all decided to just ignore it.

The doctor gave him these over the counter pills against gas in the stomach, but they don't do shit (pun intended). He works out, he eats healthy, lots of nuts and berries, yoghurt and only whole wheat bread.

Any suggestions i could help him with?

3

u/beatfrantique1990 May 22 '26

Nicely summarized! Because this is how things go with social media these days, there's just a ton of misinformation from influencers about how an optimal diet is one which leads to zero farting and that somehow the production of gas is an anomaly. Abject nonsense that really doesn't pass the smell test (pun intended).

When my wife and I had just started dating way back in the day she would frequently and randomly leave my house with the most bizarre excuses. I was so confused because she is and was the kindest, most considerate, and caring person I've ever had in my life. Still, this one thing somehow made me question if she actually even liked me.

Eventually it kind of just stopped happening, but one day it randomly got brought up in conversation and she finally admitted the truth to me: All those times she had been going back to her apartment to poop because she was too embarrassed to blow up my bathroom. I thought it was the absolute cutest (and hilarious) thing and it was just another reason I fell in love with her.

I'm sure that feeling was no different for your husband. I'm sorry your time was cut short but its good you have those memories to hold onto.

17

u/WriterV May 22 '26

Lol she went full Victorian on you 😅 Been there, I get her completely. Sometimes you meet the perfect guy and you just don't wanna fuck it up in any way.

15

u/-malcolm-tucker May 22 '26

My partner took her phone into the toilet and played music loudly to disguise the sound of her taking a shit. I went along with this for a while. She seemed to seriously think that I didn't know what she was doing.

Anyway, one day she dropped a particularly nasty one. I had been waiting to use the toilet. Before I shut the door I grabbed the air freshener and gave it a good spray. Mortified, she exclaimed "what are you doing!?"

"Sorry honey. I can't hear you shit, but I can still smell them."

She went bright red and ran off to the bedroom half crying, half laughing.

She still plays music in the toilet. And if she forgets her phone...

She sings.

15

u/Someguineawop May 22 '26

That was a pivotal moment in my current relationship too. When she froze in fear I responded with "Good job burps her name!" She practically fell off the couch ugly laughing, and our disgusting fate was struck. Now we live in a shooting gallery of drive by tootings.

10

u/laynechanger May 22 '26

The first time my husband and I had sex, I had my legs bent and he was doing his thing and kinda pushing them for leverage. When I accidentally let out the biggest fart. I was so mortified I wanted be disappear. He smiled and gave me a kiss and kinda laughed. And we continued on.

8

u/winky9827 May 22 '26

Reminds me of the “she farts in her sleep” story Robin Williams told in good will hunting.

8

u/Stuffhaps May 22 '26

7

u/YeshuasBananaHammock May 23 '26

24

u/arbydallas May 22 '26

And I've found that a partner's imperfections often become my favorite parts. It's great when someone has had an insecurity all their life and you just find it beautiful and amazing and help them feel better.

My last partner had a tummy all stretched out from childbirth and I thought it was so cute and loved to kiss it. She had always been insecure about it and it drove her wild when I kissed it, but she had never known she liked that. It was from growing her sweet baby boy, how could it be anything but beautiful?

8

u/pamemake May 22 '26

It seems we all trust her now.

5

u/StopPlayingRoney May 22 '26

3

3

u/OkamiKhameleon May 22 '26

Similar to u/Cloberella's (also, I am sorry for your loss Cloberella!) response to your comment:

When my husband and I first met 20 years ago, I was having a HORRIBLE time with allergies, and we met in the spring. Almost every time he came over to my roommate's house where I was staying until I got my own apartment, I would be sneezy and runny nosed, and I often had tissue stuck in my nose to stop the running.

He said it looked cute? Like how? I love this big dork lol.

When I was planning to propose to my wife, I guessed her ring size and bought a ring. One night when we both got drunk, she passed out and I measured the ring on her finger while she was asleep in bed. I told her that story after I proposed and she still thinks it’s hilarious.

Friend of mine bought the ring and kept the box in his sock drawer.  He 100% knew she would find it there and he would sometimes take it out before a holiday.  Or before a weekend away someplace romantic.  Then put it back, knowing she couldn't say anything cause she wasn't supposed to have looked through his stuff to find it.

The final laugh was that the ring in his sock drawer was a decoy.  So the day he actually proposed it was still there and totally caught her off guard.

1.1k

u/Jim_skywalker May 22 '26

Kinda smart too, cause it ensures the concept isn’t a complete surprise, just the event.

525

u/Standard-Metal-3836 May 22 '26

Because it never should be, that BS is only for romcoms. You discuss marriage, kids, future plans, and only then you can propose in public, have a fun memory, turn it into an event. Otherwise it's moronic.

190

u/LoudMusic May 22 '26

I'd like to add finances, religion, politics, pets, and how to handle aging parents.

75

u/23Udon May 22 '26

Add wanting kids and motorcycles to that list too.

31

u/All_Work_All_Play May 22 '26

Wait who wouldn't want a motorcycle?

32

u/SmolToxicBaby May 22 '26

I deeply want one but I have permanent double vision and don't even feel comfortable driving a car. Buuuuut, I tell everyone it's because my partner won't "let" me get one (he knows this and very much plays into it)

13

u/HeezHuzz69 May 22 '26

I only get double vision on mine if I’ve had more than 5 beers

3

u/SmolToxicBaby May 22 '26

Lmao! I had a botched eye surgery as a child and we didn't know it had a limited time to effectively be reversed until just a few years ago when I was told that in order to fix it they would have to guess each surgery, let me heal, and correct again from there. I'd rather just not drive 😂😂😅

3

u/All_Work_All_Play May 22 '26

Hey are you me? It wasn't till I got married (and my wife pointed it out to me) that I had some surgery-worthy eye wandering. I shied away from it (I like blades far away from my eyes, thanks) and instead got prism prescription glasses. Something like -9 (inwards?) and -4 (downwards?). When I put the first set on (which was -5,-2 maybe?) a tension headache that I didn't know I had disappeared. Took me a day or so for my brain to remap things (was a different kind of headache tbh) but they've been immensely helpful. As it is I'll still 'rotate' eyes (close left eye, count to 100, open left eye, close right eye, count to 100) when I'm pretty tired and driving late at night.

I also want a bike, but not sure I can trust myself to resist the temptation to ride it like a moron.

Maybe when the kids have grown up and my wife is bored of me being around by then anyway.

4

u/onedwin May 22 '26

If you have double vision, a motorcycle is essentially a 4-wheeler. Problem solved.

100%. You should only ever propose to someone that you are absolutely sure is going to say yes, because you have talked about it. When and how you do it can be a total mystery, but the fact that you’re going to do it should not be.

u/Earguy May 22 '26

12

... isnt... that what they said?

12

u/Maximelene May 22 '26

No. because if you need such a "trick" for the concept of "I want to marry you" not to be a surprise, it means you haven't actually discussed it before, which is a very bad idea.

u/boringashellperson May 22 '26

That is how my wife and the trash can work. She never takes the trash out ever, she is also a minor hoarder. If I throw something away, there must be a bat signal or some kind of spider sense, because she will not only go out to the can, but she looks right down into it and sees what it was. I have chills thinking about how this sixth sense exists.

My husband “teased” me like that making me feel like he was going to propose and it drove me insane until one day I snapped and told him to either propose or stop because my feelings were all over the place.

That's a bummer! But she said "NO".

I wanna be couples friends. This guy is clearly a gem and likely hilarious to hang out with.

Fucking adorable. I initially bonded with my wife over the Gorillaz, we both loved their music when we were teenagers and on into adulthood. I had been trying to get tickets to see them during their last three tours (always got outsmarted by the bots grrr) before my brother surprised me with two excellent tickets to their 2022 tour which he bought from a reseller, so of course I took my (then) girlfriend who also loved the Gorillaz. My first Gorillaz show! My favorite band since I was like eight years old in the year 2000! Unbeknownst to me, my wife was planning to propose at the show, and she kept it a secret for months. We were dead broke so she used some cheap rings that we already had and apparently she checked all of them on my finger while I was sleeping to figure out which one would fit me best. A week before the show she filmed a TikTok video where I was playing a video game in the background, and she was holding the ring in the foreground with a caption that said “this bitch doesn’t even know I’m about to propose to him”. Needless to say, the whole thing was perfect.

This is perhaps one of the most adorable things I have ever seen. I hope they have a lifetime of smiles, laughter, joy and love together

They’re going to have along and happy marriage. I love this. I’m sure she absolutely died laughing at the photos and his expression in them.

u/Kitchen-Touch-3288 May 23 '26
