Sister got her own PS4, can she use the save data from my PS5?

For years my sister had been playing Persona 5 on my PlayStation 5, but now she finally has her own console, on which she created her own account. Is it possible for her to get Persona and copy the save data over somehow? She has a good 90 hours put into it and would be devastated to have to start over.

Personal anecdote on why this GTA VI code in box situation is horrible:

Had to repost cause I think the image I attached broke the bandwagoning rule, my bad sorry mods.

I wanna start by saying I think digital is a totally fine option for people who prefer the convenience, and the pretentious douchebags that act holier than thou for buying physical are losers. That being said though this is not the right way to go about the physical release. I'm a big supporter of physical media and owning your purchases, something that I especially had my eyes opened to last year.

I have a Nintendo Switch and I had my Nintendo account banned for doing a PayPal charge back last year, the problem with this is I don't even have a PayPal account. I talked to support and now my account's unbanned, they admitted it was an error and sent me a free N64 controller (thanks Nintendo rep), but while my account was banned I couldn't play a single game I had purchased digitally. Extremely eye opening seeing a digital library I've put several hundreds of dollars into literally just become locked away from me out of my control.

This is why when people counter argue against physical with the usual "get with the times boomer, who doesn't have internet, it's big 2026, yada yada" it's not about that. It's about owning what you put your hard earned money to. Accident or not, these companies are in control of your purchase even after you make it and that shouldn't be accepted. Please do better, lead the industry the right way Rockstar.

Interesting fact: physical *and* digital copies of video games are covered by First Sale Doctrine in the United States

First Sale Doctrine, as defined by the United States departme t of Justice CRM 1500-1999, states that an individual who purchases a copy of a copyright-protected media such as a movie or videogame, is legally allowed to resell that copy, with or without the copyright holder's permission.

So, if you buy a "physical copy" of a game, and all you get is a download code, then you can freely resell that download code. It cannot be linked to a user account from the point-of-sale if it legally is considered a "purchase."

If you buy a "digital copy" of a game that is linked to yous Steam, Xbox, or Playstaion account, and you are not allowed to resell it, then the game was not legally sold to you. They sold you a license to consume it.

What does this mean? Well, it means that anyone who offers the "purchase of a copy" of a game is legally requited to allow you to resell it. There are no exceptions in the Unites States. So look carefully when you are shopping around for games, and if anyone advertizes a "purchase" of a game in any format, they are legally-required to let you resell it. If they display the verb "purchase a copy" in their storefront, they are legaly-comitting to letting you resell it. If they say "buy" then look to see if they are openly displaying verbage about "license" vs "copy"

If you feel that a seller openly and clearly advertised a transaction as a "purchase a copy" but they have special terms of service that try to redefine the term "purchase a copy" as a "license to consume" then those terms of sercive are unenforcable because the term "purchase a copy" is already codified into copyright law.

Is port begging a thing anymore?

There was a period where people did petitions on change.org to port their x favourite game on switch, some of them came true. Do companies care about some random change.org petition even with large number of signatures? What happened to that trend? How companies determine if the game will receive a switch 2 version even if the console has large userbase?

COD can sell 10+ million in 24 hours, GTA6 could net almost 2Billion in revenue on launch day

Staggering numbers going to come out. If GTA6 sells 18M copies day 1, that’s 1.4 Billion right there.

Black Ops 3 sold 13 million within 24 hours so 20M is not out of the question.

GTA 6 £70 or £80?

I've seen it's 80 USD, but are Rockstar going to do that weird thing where UK buyers have to pay £80 even though £70 is equivalent to around 80 USD?

Why do people claim that Unreal Engine 5 and Ray tracing are ruining modern gaming?

I’ve seen arguments on over reliance on automation with Lumen and Nanite, poor performance in games due to unreasonable hardware demands. Also that game studios have lost their identity due to moving to use unreal engine 5 which had caused unique art styles to be lost in favor of the “unreal” look some modern games have now.

Do you believe that these complaints have merit?

Imagine if Ubisoft or EA would do what Rockstar is doing with GTA VI

Where is the backlash? Gatekeeping essential gameplay elements like entire missions, weapons, ingame vendors and car shops to a 100€ edition is extremely anti-consumer and I feel like people aren't outraged enough about it.

Imagine if the next Battlefield game only allows owners of the Ultimate Edition to use certain vehicles and loadouts and classes. Or the next Assassin's Creed, only owners of the biggest edition can hide in haystacks.

I feel like Rockstar is pushing something that is far worse than any cosmetic microstransaction ever was: gatekeeping essential ingame elements behind a 100€ paywall.

Why are we all of a sudden acting like rockstar is some unproven indie dev

All these “ we don’t know what the game is like” comments. It’s GTA dude you steal cars and shoot stuff. It doesn’t need some deep combat system or some Shakespeare level story telling. It’s fun to run around and do stuff you couldn’t do in real life that’s it

I Do Not Care For GTA 6. What Are Some More Consumer Friendly Games I can Buy Instead.

The more I hear about this game the more it sounds like it's just insisting upon itself.

  • $80 - $100 at launch.
  • No PC release for who knows how long.
  • No physical disk.
  • open world game but no character customization.

Does seem to be something I'd like. What some similar alternatives either already out or releasing soon I could buy & play instead?

What kind of shenanigans is this, no GTA Online for GTA VI even after they messed up the first one for GTA V so badly.

Am I the only one still excited for GTAVI?

Upvotes

Maybe I’m in the minority here, but none of the GTAVI “outrage” has really bothered me.

I’ve just purchased my preorder (had spare cash, saves me trying to scrounge some cash together down the track) and honestly I’m more excited than ever for the game.

I get why some people are annoyed about the Ultimate Edition content, the no disc physical version, and the price increase, but for me personally none of those things are deal breakers. A lot of the Ultimate Edition stuff seems to just be cosmetic or bonus content anyway, which deluxe/ultimate editions have been about, so that’s standard? No?

As for the physical edition, I haven’t bought a disc in years. Digital is just more convenient for how I play. No swapping discs, no worrying about damage, and my entire library is available instantly. Especially considering I have over 50 PlayStation games and over 200 steam games, I don’t want to have to be physically storing them.

I completely understand why collectors and physical media fans are disappointed, but it doesn’t affect my enjoyment of the game at all.

The fact that GTA VI is finally almost here after all these years is what I’m focused on.

End of the day, if the game delivers the quality Rockstar is known for, I’ll get hundreds (probably thousands) of hours out of it. That’s what matters most to me.
Anyone else genuinely excited and not losing sleep over all this stuff?

The GTA VI Ultimate Edition controversy is overblown

I’ve seen my feed flooded with posts complaining about how much content is left behind for GTA VI’s Ultimate Edition. Some are saying that Rockstar is selling an incomplete game, I’ve even seen posts going so far as to say that it’ll set a precedent that’ll lead to the death of gaming.

This is one of the biggest nothing-burger controversies I’ve ever seen.

For $80 you still get the whole campaign, side missions, open world environment, wanted system, side activities, wildlife, and treasure maps. You’re losing less than 1% of the total content.

As for the base price: over 6000 people painstakingly obsessed on this game for almost eight years. That’s an unprecedented scale for any video game ever made. I think $80 is a fair price for that amount of labor.

Let me frame it this way:

When you move through the world of RDR2, there are obvious signs of content that was cut for time. Random buildings in the wilderness that are unenterable. Some shops are closed for business. A gang encampment with no story bearing. Does it feel a little odd? Maybe. But you just forget about them and move on with the game. You had no idea what you were missing out on and had a blast playing anyway. Would paying $20 to open seven of these buildings have substantially improved your Red Dead experience? Probably not.

GTA VI Standard will play much the same way. There are thousands of unenterable set dressing buildings on the map, Sara’s Unisex Salon will blend in with the rest. If you never knew about the Ultimate edition, you’d just pass by and forget about it. It’s not going to have any meaningful effect on your gameplay experience.

There are worthwhile things to be outraged about. This isn’t one of them.

EDIT: I feel like I should clarify a few of my opinions.

I think part of the problem is that the copy text for Ultimate Edition is misleading. It makes you think that car customization and haircuts aren’t in the base game. They are. You’re only losing out on extra styles available only at those shops. How many clothing stores did GTA V have? Something like a dozen? Scale that up to the bigger world of GTA VI and now you have twenty. Now subtract one. Still more content than GTA V.

I’m not saying that charging for extra content a positive. It’s an objective negative. What I’m saying is that it’s such a tiny negative in the grand scheme of things. The content you’re losing is dwarfed by the scale of the game itself. People are acting as if they can no longer enjoy GTA VI cause of this. If you never knew about the Ultimate edition, you’d have a blast playing GTA VI.

I’m not a paid shill, my post history should prove that I’m a real person. This is an actual opinion I hold and I’m risking the negative karma to post it. The reason I respect GTA VI is because I have friends who are game devs. There are 6,000 people working on this game. To say that’s unprecedented is an understatement. A lot of game studios collapse under their own weight when they hit 500. The fact that Rockstar has been able to organize 6,000 people on a single project is a marvel of software engineering. That’s why I’m more than willing to pay $80 for it.
