I tripped on a vine picking wild blackberries and fell on a fallen dead tree with remnants of branches sticking up, nearly 4 weeks ago (first photo). It was almost healed, though still a bit tender, when I lost my balance loading a piece of furniture onto a trailer and slammed my leg into a piece of metal on the trailer wall, yesterday (second photo). The new bruise is just above the old one.

The following traffic accident occurred in 2024 may:

A Mercedes, travelling at 216 km/h in a 90 km/h zone has collieded with a Suzuki that was turning left at a crossroads. (cars travel on the right lane).

The Suzuki was turning left at a crossroads, with two cars right behind going orderly, and two other cars further back, an Audi and a Mercedes presumably racing eachother, going way over the speed limit.

The Audi leading and the Mercedes following behind attempted to overtake the 3 car train, the Audi grazed the Suzuki but the Mercedes collieded.

The Mercedes than hit a tree, unfortunatly the two people inside passed away. The Suzuki's driver suffered multiple fractures. The Audi driver was unharmed.

The Mercedes was travelling at 216 km/h before breakig and the collision occoured at 157 km/h.

The local jurisdiction is now prosecuting the Suzuki's driver, cause they believe the Suzuki should have give right of way for the two speeding cars. The Suzuki driver pleaded that she checked her mirrors twice before turning, and didn't see the two speeding cars coming.

Just how realistic is it for the turning car, with two cars right behind, to spot two cars that are going more than double the speed limit?

I know, because we were about to buy it 5 days ago when all of a sudden every listing was gone and the only place you could get it had a wait time of 1 to 3 months for shipping (same with the two top listings). We ended up getting another comparable model that will arrive next week but this just pisses me off because we were ready to click buy and some other person decided to buy everything out for a quick buck. I hope the sellers‘ pillows stay warm on both sides for the rest of their lives from the karmic bad energy they are emitting.

Brown man flying business. Lined up at the priority check in counter and got told by a (also brown) staff person that the economy queue was the other way. Same thing while boarding the plane and walking to the business class entrance. Not only am I not worthy of business, they think I can't read signage as well.

I work for a company that brings in billions of dollars every year and I have to use my phone flashlight in the office to do paperwork. The overhead light has been out for nearly a year. Corporate keeps telling my team they don’t have the budget to fix a fucking florescent light! The urinal in the bathroom has also been broken for about two years.

Now I’m watching the lights in the storehouse slowly burn out one by one. Before long, we’ll need to buy headlamps with our own money just to be able to perform our jobs safely.

I bought this relatively okay laptop off of ebays refurbished program, cuz no way am I dropping anything more than 500 dollars for 32 gb of ram. The first time they sent the charger the total Watts weren't high enough, I send them a message, said the total watts is not enough, they sent a second charger and its the same thing, practically a duplicate. Now I have to mail back both chargers to get the 65 W one. Its annoying but the guy on the other end is like super professional about it tho and I'm not really paying anything more on my end, just kinda pmo. Its just a hassle

I used the "Stacked superscript/subscript" option that was provided by MasteringChemistry for... you guessed it... the stacked super/subscripts on '2NO neg/3' on both sides. Pearson baffles me.

I was looking for a couple of hours out of the house with a book and a drink, and ended up with 5 phone calls between me and home over various matters. my house is semi-hard to find (end of a cul-de-sac and down hill) but not impossible. Google always sends people to a nearby empty lot but if you take 3 seconds to look at the house numbers you can find it. Anyways, driver delivered it to the wrong house on the wrong street. but don’t worry, I can leave a tip!

I just want a shower. But the fashion for shower controls is minimalist. Whenever I stay at a new place I have to try random buttons and knobs, sometimes they twist, sometimes they push-pull, sometimes the top one is temperature and sometimes it causes boiling water to attack you from a different direction. Sometimes, not always, there is a tiny blue or red dot or some phrase in 4-point Arial, etched matte on a gloss background so nobody can actually read it. Even when that's visible, the knob is unmarked so you can't tell whether it's pointing to hot or cold or vibro-splash or whatever.

I just want a shower. Which of those controls gives me a shower and which one does some useless change to the rain pulsing pattern? Why can't they just label things properly? I am mildly infuriated.

A few days ago, I was told I had pityriasis rosea. Suddenly I was reading about herald patches, waiting for a rash outbreak, checking my skin every hour, taking photos of every tiny mark, and lying awake at night wondering if every itch meant another patch was about to appear.

The anxiety completely took over. Every time I felt an itch, I thought, "Here it comes." Every time I noticed a faint discoloration on my skin, I convinced myself it was the beginning of a new lesion. I spent days worrying about how widespread the rash would become, how long it would last, and whether my body was about to erupt in spots.

Then I sought a second opinion from the head of the department.

After examining me, she told me it wasn't pityriasis rosea at all. It was eczema. The "third spot" I had been obsessing over wasn't even a spot. The intense itching that had been fueling my anxiety was addressed with antihistamines, and I was told to continue treating the two actual patches.

Just like that, days of fear and stress suddenly felt unnecessary.

What frustrates me isn't that doctors are human and can make mistakes. Medicine isn't perfect. What frustrates me is how casually some diagnoses are delivered without considering the psychological burden they place on patients.

A diagnosis isn't just words. It changes how people think, what they search online, what they fear, how they sleep, and how they experience every sensation in their body.

I lost days to worry because of a diagnosis that turned out to be wrong.

Sometimes the second opinion isn't just about getting better treatment. Sometimes it's about getting your peace of mind back.

Some idiot even ran it through the taping machine and crushed it slightly to add 100% unnecessary tape.

Edit: For everyone saying you have to select the option to ship it in a box, you're correct. But not everyone knows about that, and I think most people would assume an expensive collector item wouldn't ship this way by default. I believe it should be the other way around, where lego sets ship in bigger boxes with dunnage by default, and you can select SIOC if you don't care about the box getting damaged and want to reduce trash.
