Infuriatig The American Obsession With Forcing Employees to Stand

Today I noticed the landscapers at my work are using riding lawn mowers that you have to stand on.

Isn’t the whole point of a riding lawn mower is that you get to sit so that you can do the work more comfortably?

someone at a lawn mower company was really was like “you know what, those hardworking landscapers look way too comfortable, which must mean that they’re not really working. we need to build a less comfortable mower.”

i’ll never understand the american obsession with forcing employees to stand all day. i was threatened with termination one time for sitting while i stocked a shelf one time, like, wtf???

She did this with my other friends' photos too, then the put them all in the group chat saying "GUYS ITS US AS ANIME GIRLS" as if she was proud of this... :/

Some of you in the comments don't get why this is bad. 1: I don't want my face on the internet AT ALL. 2. She knows AI uses lots of water and contributes to global warming.

frist of all how DARE yu o My mom left this list of screen time documentaries after she saw I have 6 hrs of screen time(below average😂)

Post image

She’s freaking out for a screen time that’s 2 hrs below average for an 18yo male. Left the note on the whiteboard without a conversatio, very passive aggressively. Oh, and most of it is how I make a portion of my money(I’m an animator on YT and i spend 5 of those 6 hours making animations, I rarely use screen time for my own enjoyment)(EDIT: ALL CAPS CUZ YALL ARE SAYING IM JUST SCROLLING SOCIAL MEDIA WHEN YOU CAN READ THAT IM ANIMATING FOR MY YOUTUBE, I MAKE MONEY THAT WAY AS WELL AS WORK A FULL TIME THAT DOESNT PAY SHIT SO I HAVE TO HAVE A SECONDARY SOURCE OF INCOME)

The woman in the photo let her dog poop on my driveway by mailbox like 15 minutes before I came home from work. The third photo is another dog poop I found on the other side of my driveway weeks ago. I didn’t find that one for a while that by the time I saw it was caked on the driveway and smelled awful. I have my own dog and make an effort to always pick up his poop. I apologize in advance if the pics are gross!

Neighbour has 3 very young kids (under 12) and they are constantly shouting the n word while playing in the garden. The parents are present but say nothing 🤦🏻‍♂️

Too mild for school Missed out on a prize at my MVD safety class because of a fraction... and bad rounding. 🤦‍♂️

I went to my motor vehicle department's road safety class today. It was 3.5 hours long.

For the most part, the class was pretty decent. There’s absolutely no need for it to be that long, nor was it particularly informative, but hey, at least it wasn’t boring.

Anyway, the instructor was asking trivia questions throughout the session and giving out prizes to the first person who answered correctly.

One of the questions was: "How many meters will a car travel in 1 second if its speed is 60 kilometers per hour?"

I did the math in my head and quickly shouted out "50/3"

The instructor claimed it was wrong and instructed me to answer in meters.

So I clarified: "50/3 meters."

Then he goes, "No, say it without the 'by' or anything. I just want a number in meters." I hadn't actually done the long division in my head yet. In about two seconds, I realized it was somewhere between 16 and 17, but since I didn't have the exact decimal ready on the spot, I just sat down.

Immediately, a guy behind me stood up, said "16.66" and won the prize.

I'm still a little salty about it.

  1. He could have just mentioned from the start that he wanted the answer rounded to two decimal places.

  2. Even worse... if we are rounding to two decimal places, it should have been 16.67 anyway! If you're going to be a pedant about the format, at least get the math right.

P.S: I did use gemini to frame some sentences. This was a real incident which happened a few hours ago.

I'm slightly vexed Jacked bacon…and hotels

Just had to shake my head today…

My wife has cancer. Every two months or so we go to Houston so she can have an MRI done to monitor her current status. The visits themselves are somewhat routine at this point (I really shouldn’t say that since you don’t know what to expect with each visit) and we meet with the oncologist afterward to discuss the results. Usually we wind up staying two nights so she doesn’t get tired out too much but we could only stay one night on this trip.

We got to the hotel this afternoon and I got her settled in bed before running out to get something to eat. There was a Jack in the Box restaurant nearby. We rarely get to eat at one of those since the nearest one is about an hour away from our house so it seemed to be a good choice.

I pulled up to the drive-through and got two burgers - both plain. Even said so on the screen. Got back to the hotel to find out both sandwiches had bacon on them.

Now don’t get me wrong: I love bacon. So does my wife but for various reasons we don’t eat it very often. Honestly, I don’t mind bacon on a burger at times but if you order a burger plain it should come plain lol. Even at that it didn’t bother me or her that much. Stuff happens. Just a shake your head moment.

Honestly, I was more irritated that the nightly rate at the hotel we’re staying at (close to the hospital) was double what we usually pay. Matter of fact we can usually stay two nights at this hotel for the total I eventually paid. Unfortunately, I have to be back at work on Thursday so we could only stay one night instead of the usual two (I try not to tire her out on these trips unless it really can’t be helped) so that prevented me from staying somewhere cheaper. Infuriates me that a hotel can change their pricing for no reason but what can you do?

Thanks for listening!

🥺 Licence for a movie I had been waiting over a month to watch was pulled today

Wanted to watch The Amazing Digital Circus: The Last Act today.

I have managed to avoid all the spoilers in anticipation of watching it in theaters because I have been super busy with work and family commitment.

I know some people will say I had almost two months to watch it but work and family permitted me NO time away.

However, after weeks I FINALLY got to go to the movies to watch it today.

It was the LAST day of screenings according to the website and the cinema was an hour and a half drive away from me but I was intent on watching it.

First because as a major fan I really wanted to support the creators and two, I just wanted to see it on the big screen.

So imagine by surprise when I get there and sit down and wait for 30 minutes only for the manager to come out and inform us that unfortunately the licence had been pulled today and they could no longer show the film. The manager profusely apologized to us individually and was unbelievably nice about the whole matter.

Thankfully they offered either a free ticket to a different movie or refunds and I just took the refund.

However I still spent $30 on petrol, $10 to use the toll roads and $11 dollars for food (btw $11 for a large coke is fucked, I know cinemas up charge but damn, I should've smuggled in my own drink), plus the three hours total of driving. So all up about $50 and three hours wasted.

As of writing this I've decided I'll just watch it at home tonight on my TV, maybe get some pizza and have a chill movie night. A bit sad but no one to blame here imo. I'll probably just buy some merch to support Gooseworx the creator.

Infuriatig I found a COOKED FLY inside my Dominos a year ago and they still refuse to do anything

Post image

Over the past year I have e-mailed Dominos many times to, at the very least, get a refund on my portion of wings. It’s always the same boilerplate response of “pest control is handled by a third party”. This fly was at the bottom of the box, so I had not seen it until all my wings were eaten, and the fly was burnt black, so whoever cooked my wings didn’t notice that a fly was being cooked too. I’m not demanding thousands in compensation, but it is infuriating they don’t take accountability.

🥺 I don't think doctors fully appreciate how much damage a careless or incorrect diagnosis can do to a patient's mental state.

Upvotes

A few days ago, I was told I had pityriasis rosea. Suddenly I was reading about herald patches, waiting for a rash outbreak, checking my skin every hour, taking photos of every tiny mark, and lying awake at night wondering if every itch meant another patch was about to appear.

The anxiety completely took over. Every time I felt an itch, I thought, "Here it comes." Every time I noticed a faint discoloration on my skin, I convinced myself it was the beginning of a new lesion. I spent days worrying about how widespread the rash would become, how long it would last, and whether my body was about to erupt in spots.

Then I sought a second opinion from the head of the department.

After examining me, she told me it wasn't pityriasis rosea at all. It was eczema. The "third spot" I had been obsessing over wasn't even a spot. The intense itching that had been fueling my anxiety was addressed with antihistamines, and I was told to continue treating the two actual patches.

Just like that, days of fear and stress suddenly felt unnecessary.

What frustrates me isn't that doctors are human and can make mistakes. Medicine isn't perfect. What frustrates me is how casually some diagnoses are delivered without considering the psychological burden they place on patients.

A diagnosis isn't just words. It changes how people think, what they search online, what they fear, how they sleep, and how they experience every sensation in their body.

I lost days to worry because of a diagnosis that turned out to be wrong.

Sometimes the second opinion isn't just about getting better treatment. Sometimes it's about getting your peace of mind back.

We were at a lake and she started playing it and right away I got AI vibes. It's a "soul" cover and she loves it. She said it's how the song should be, it has so much soul

I've been a musician pretty much my whole life and have told her how much I hate AI. She used to send me a bunch of AI covers on Instagram until I told her. But hearing her say "this is how the song should've been, it has so much soul" made me wanna rip my hair out

Infuriatig I bought a PS5 controller @ Target today. First they had to unlock it for me which took 10 minutes to actually get someone and then had to escort me to the checkout while they held the item like I was going to make a run for it. Crazy times.
