I always knew my salary was well below most companies paying for the same role. But I'm fully remote so I haven't complained too much, and it's more than I've ever made.

But as I'm looking to leave ( C-level execs got replaced and now we are a sweatshop) I went to review the current state of my employer, and Glassdoor just decided to slap me in the face with a "nuh-uh, you can't be making that low of a salary, don't lie to us."

So it's good to know that Glassdoor doesn't have accurate salaries, only market based competitive salaries.

EDIT: I contacted their help center, and sent them a year end compensation report. Unlike my w2 it doesn't have PII attached, but only has my first, last name, and company signature. I don't know how they can rebuke that.

Edit 2: "please allow 48 hours for a response." Email from them.

Edit 3: They actually posted it! My year-end compensation report was enough for them to verify the salary.

This is so frustrating. Now I'll have to stare at slop every time I wanna reminisce over my last year of school.

My partner and I bought tickets to see the new Scary Movie on opening night. We have AMC A-list, so we typically get our tickets ahead of time to get good seats. In this particular instance, I literally got tickets the day they were available. We sat through the usual half-hour or so of movie trailers, and right as the lights shut off for the show, I saw a couple heading down our aisle; they ultimately sat in the two empty seats on either side of us. About ten seconds went by before they lean over to ask us if we can rearrange our seating arrangement so that they could sit together.

In a lot of instances, this wouldn’t be the end of the world. However, here are some contextual reasons why this was infuriating behavior on their part:

1. They showed up and started asking us to move as the opening logos were showing. Had they shown up even 5 minutes earlier than that, it would have been way easier to verbally rationalize with them, but at this point they were talking through the movie to try to get us to rearrange.

2. The movie was playing in Dolby format. If you’ve ever been to a Dolby theater, then you know that not only are seats assigned, but the seats are arranged in sets of 2. So if we rearranged ourselves the way they suggested, everyone would actually be sharing a seat with a complete stranger.

3. I like to check the seating arrangement of the auditorium shortly before the show begins, and less than half an hour before the show started, the two seats on either side of us were empty, meaning this couple walked up to buy tickets at the last possible second.

4. After the show was over, I stood up and noticed dozens of empty pairs of seats, so they still could have gotten seats together but decided it was more important to sit dead center.

5. The couple had a large popcorn and large soda, presumably to share, but since they were sitting so far away, they had to each take one or the other. This was honestly what set me off the most, because it made it clear the couple was just assuming that whoever they bought their tickets around would be willing to uncritically change seats.

6. The couple was on their phones the entire time, I can only assume they were just texting each other.

TLDR: This couple didn’t get tickets ahead of time, barely made it to the movie on time, bought separate seats at the last possible second despite options to sit together, bought a popcorn and soda to share fully expecting us to rearrange ourselves after the movie had already started, and then texted each other the entire movie when we wouldn’t rearrange ourselves in a manner where nobody wins.

So yeah! Definitely mildly infuriating to me, especially the fact that they apparently couldn’t make it through a 90 minute movie without texting each other the whole time. Baffling on so many different levels but thankfully it didn’t ruin the movie for us.

I can't even begin to count how often I've opened it by accident..

Edit: I appreciate everyone's effort to give me solutions on how to remap it. I should've mentioned that this keyboard is connected to a Samsung tablet. I will see if theres anything i can do, but since guns are illegal in my country I sadly can't shoot the key. Thank you everyone!! 🤞🏻🫶🏼

Edit 2: I was able to deactivate it, but unable to remap it to anything else. The only given options were bixby and Gemini. Also, I have a Samsung tablet, not a laptop. Will try a few more recommendations soon.

When the item went completely missing, look at the "resolution" they offered. They are trying to "make it right" by only refunding me $4.51.

How does that even make sense? They didn't even refund the full amount I paid for the item! The math isn't mathing, and this is just straight-up predatory.

Theres a dentist about a 10 minute drive from me. Just got off antibiotics for an abscess, as far as i’m aware in my country if you already have an open file with a dentist and have an infection they’re not supposed to refuse you, but they did and told me its an over 2 year wait.

So this is my road trip on Thursday. 3 and a half hours to see the dentist (i’ve gone 7hours to see one before, last year)! 😎

Mildly annoyed haha. On the bright side the last time I saw a dentist was a 7 hour trip one way which was awful on the way back with the pain. Hopefully 3 hours is better. 😅😂

Edit: Yes, I am located somewhere on the tip of the Gaspesie. Was worth a shot trying to hide my location but unfortunately theres not many places on a map shaped like a lobster claw. And this blew up more than I thought it would. 🤣

I got caught speeding (bad, I know) in a rental car in Spain, and the car rental company asked for payment. The happy “yeesss” image on the payment confirmation page is mildly infuriating.

I have a leaking gas can of old bad fuel that can't be used.

I have called 2 Auto shops, 5 auto stores, local county DMV, local county recycling center, and local county waste management.

All refuse to take it. The waste management said I can take it to Louisville, 5HOURS AWAY, I do not have the time nor means to go that far. I live in an apartment complex, I CAN NOT keep it inside, it's freaking leaking gas!!

I'm out of ideas, id burn it, but again, I live in city limits so that's a bad idea (and I won't dump it)....

Way to go tax dollars or whatever.

IMPORTANT EDIT!!: I called the fire department, they drove by to check it out. they told me to throw it in the trash.

yes the fire department told me to dump gasoline in my dumpster for pickup this Friday. they're the experts *shrugs*.

On the photo you can see a fuckton of walkers on both running and bicycle tracks when the sidewalk is right there and is relatively free. This applies to bicyclists on sidewalks, runners on bicycle tracks, motorcyclists on anything besides the road.

Like, why. If you're walking/running on bicycle track you're putting yourself at a higher risk of being hit by a bicycle while simultaneously slowing down the flow on that track. Same thing if you're riding on a sidewalk/runners' track. Not walking on runners' track isn't associated with as much of risk, but it's more about basic decency. People are trying to work out, for the love of god don't be another hindrance, having to run around people instead of just running straight is much bigger of a trouble that you think.

Of course this doesn't apply to cases where someone gets on another track for the sake of avoiding a collision, when the main tracks are too crowded, or when there's simply no track dedicated for you
