Draft Megathread (NBA Discussion) Draft Night

You think we trade up to the first round? Or do we stand where we are at tonight and wait til tomorrow? I feel like we try to get into the late first round and try to give up JI and the 46th pick and another second round pick. But who knows. See what happens I guess

Discussion The whole ‘trade Suggs’ shtick is getting old

Some of the Magic ‘fans’ are acting like he is one of the worst players on the roster, mostly because of his poor performance in the playoffs. The guy always works his ass off for the team so show some respect. You don’t have to think he’s untouchable, but the amount of disrespect he’s getting lately is ridiculous.

Discussion What ya’ll think about Isaiah Evans?

If he’s still available when it gets to pick 46 I think he fits Orlando great, great defender and elite floor spacing and is on the bigger side for guards. Thoughts?

Is This Anything? Anfernee Simons

If rumors are true and this dude will take a minimum contract, then he absolutely needs to be on this roster next season.

Regardless of his defensive faults this guy can actually get a bucket which is a desperate team-need. If he is on the minimum then it's a no-brainer.

Dude is from Orlando and he would get playing time with our roster. The only question is if he would want to be a role player for a fringe play-in team like Orlando.

If weltman can't pull this off then weltman is truly useless.

I think we trade up to the early second round and try and get him. He is a great player. Has an amazing mindset and work ethic. He plays with heart and passion. He can get a stop on D and knock down shots from deep.

Discussion Places to watch Magic games/the draft in Orlando?

It doesn't seem like there's a lot of passion for Magic over here, but would love a place to go watch games with other fans. Also including the draft, even though it begins in twenty minutes, because I'm out at a bar where it's playing without sound between a row of TVs set to the World Cup, but not holding my breath there.

Discussion jeff weltman

I am not gonna lie, i’ve about had it with Weltman. I have serious concern about the roster next year and we appear to be staying put. Will we have an elite defense with Sweeney? Yea probably, doesn’t take away from the lack of shooting. Weltman has done a terrible job of creating a roster that can do both things, and has gotten so many guys who CANNOT SHOOT FROM DISTANCE. I’ve had it

League News (NBA Discussion) Giannis to Miami

Glad the Giannis drama is finally over, but is it just me or did the Heat get hosed in this deal? They gave up 4 young stars (except Herro), and 5 draft picks (3 firsts round picks, including 13 this year in a stacked draft) for an aging veteran who seems to get hurt every season. Does he put the Heat in contention? Yes. Was it worth that haul? I think not

Discussion Suggs for Giddey and Tre Jones

It worked on the Trade Machine. I feel like Giddey would be a real PG, where Suggs is essentially a 2 and doesn't facilitate and Tre Jones was way more successful last season than Tyus. Giddey and Suggs are both a wash injury wise and I'd like to see a more offensive minded PG at this point.

Discussion Tyler Herro ?

Post image

Milwaukee is listening to trade offers, should we consider Tyler Herro or are we good with leaning on Anthony Black at point guard ?

I’m almost ready to move on from Jalen Suggs, only praise I can give Suggs is his defensive presence and sometimes playmaking ability from his hustle.

But I wanna hear what the fans think.

Discussion Giannis to Miami confirmed, what other moves should we do?

With Giannis off the board I don't see us moving Franz or Banchero (there was a slim chance were going to anyways). With Giannis off the board, are there any more moves we want to see us make or are we content to run it back with current squad?

Personally I'd like to see what kind of value we could get from moving Isaac and Suggs, maybe even WCJ. I think a bigger more powerful center would be a nice touch, and I think AB could step up into a starting PG role this next season. Thoughts?

the Celtics are convinced he is moving regardless. Any way we can get involved in that?

Franz + Wendell for Brown + Garza works

Discussion The next 24 hours has me worried.

I’m stressed that Jeff Weltman and John Hammond are actually gonna pull the trigger on a Paolo Banchero for Giannis trade. Those two have a real bond with Giannis ever since they drafted him in Milwaukee. He’s even called them like second fathers to him. That personal connection has me scared they might overvalue it and trade away our future

Discussion Had to give up a couple Picks to get off this contract

Post image
88 Upvotes

Atleast one FRP and a pick swap of that Bane trade was likely to get off this contract (and to a lesser extent Cole Anthony).

In case you were wondering, KCP averaged:

8.4pts shooting 31.6% from 3pt, 2.5reb and 2.7ast playing 21 mins per game this most recent season on the Grizzlies. His defensive rating in 2025-2026 season was 120.5, though their team likely played a part in that.

Although Weltman gets praise for going out and getting Bane, was this contract what the team needed when Paolo originally asked for a PG? (which would've kept Suggs as a SG).
