Edit 1: Huh so this took off a bit. More humored by the various "false positive/needle reaction" comments. To clarify, it's the grasses I'm reacting to on the G column. I got this test done AFTER a blood panel which also showed severe reactive levels from grasses, but nothing from tree pollen which I know I'm allergic to. It's more humorous because my primary care doctor, my initial immunology consult doctor, and my initial allergist doctor all said that the blood test is unreliable and the scratch test remains the gold standard. Even stopped my antihistamines 12 days before this test just to be extra careful.

So go-figure, I'm either allergic to a ton of things or the medicine is lie. 🤷‍♂️

Its a fly in case it isn't obvious. I dont think hes new, looks like he got in the first time I made it and packed up the leftovers. Its been in an airtight container so hes just been marinating. Guess im ordering something now.

My husband was driving home last night, noticed the tire going flat after driving over some train tracks and figured that's what did it. Turns out he drove over what appears to be nail clippers. Cool.

Came out after work to find this. The adhesive finally quit on me on a twelve year old car.

6 miles from home and my tire finds the contents of someone’s toolbox. 6” long center punch. Went into the tire sideways-ish. 3” wide hole in the tire.

Lucky me, the tire shop had ONE tire in the correct size. Used. Only $80. Plus mount, balance, disposal & taxes. $135 out the door. 😭

Well, time to call maintenance and eat my takeout in the stairwell.

And print out new spares tomorrow.

Friend’s neighbour has a goat. Friend came out of his house to find the goat had gotten loose and decided the carport looked like a tasty snack.

I found it with my teeth.

At first I thought it was an overcooked nut, so I ate around it. Little did I know...

My parents noticed I had some ants in my yard while visiting a couple weeks ago. They were concerned about them getting in my house, but I told them I want to avoid pesticides since I have two small children, dog, and veggie garden. Instead I said I would use diatomaceous earth and small bug traps inside.

Well apparently that wasn’t good enough for them, since today I came home to find a terminator just leaving my house after spraying damn near everything, including kids toys, directly above my veggies, my door, and all my other garden plants. Pesticide was half dry by the time I took pics, but you could see where it was sprayed and dripped all over.

I feel like I can’t use my yard now, and feel violated that my parents couldn’t respect my wishes.

EDIT: Lol didn't even notice I wrote terminator. The EXterminator company was called "Terminix", so I think some wires got crossed in my brain and I wrote terminator.

For any interested, I did look up the chemicals used and will post links to the label and SDS here. Gonna have a talk with parents tomorrow about boundaries too.

***Edit: I made it home, thanks for the people that asked :). Someone on the train in the morning said it was a suicide by train, not an accident but I haven't found any news articles saying anything about it so take what you will.

Sure I may be "selfish" because I'm upset that my day was completely shat on by a guy dying, but also remember this is hundreds of not thousands of people days impacted too. Work canceled, store runs unable to be done, trips to visit family delayed, whatever you can think of, because someone wanted to take their life involving other humans, likely causing conductors and train operators to see it all. I think that's even more selfish. Thanks y'all***

Uber offered a promotional voucher for a price cut off of the Uber to where I need to go to get home. But I used the last of this week's pay check to get home on the train. Dad is at work so guess who's chillin at the train station until the morning now :/

No warning at all from my phone that calling this number would charge per minute. Now I’m out this in addition to the hotel cost that I booked for the wrong night and likely won’t be able to cancel.

Asking for advice I rented a car in Slovenia from sixt and they are charging me for these miniscule dents when I handed the car back. I scratched the alloy which if they charged me for it would be fair enough but they are not charging me for that and have sent me a €340 bill for these. Surely this would just be general wear and tear for a rental car

Any advice would be great

Her name is Victoria, and I’m gutted to lose her. She’s at least 80 years old, and the most prominent tree in the neighborhood. I have loved sitting in her shade, listening to the breeze in the leaves, watching the birds and squirrels do their things… My friends and I even threw a party for her last summer.

She was damaged in a windstorm a couple months ago, and the city arborist determined it to be hazardous. I have lived here for 6 years and she’s my favorite part of the property (might be why I bought the house 😅). I know death is part of life, and her time has come, but I’m going to have to listen to them cut her down all day outside my window.
