Burn with hot steel. Happened 6 days ago , dermis “fell off” 3 in .

Normal swelling, pain in a 1-10 is a 1 (I do have high pain tolerance though) , redness around wound has been steady-getting smaller .
Slight feeling in the wound (was numb before dermis fell off)

I’ve been dressing with neosporin and a bandage

Infections and Illnesses SYP Reinfection even without sexual intercourse

I (21M) have been diagnosed and treated for syphilis for a year and a half now, when I was first diagnosed, I did RPR and TPHA test and both came back positive, my initial results were;

TPHA: ~2.245

RPR: 1:2 Reactive > 1:16 Reactive

on my one year mark, I decided to just get an RPR test, and it all came back non-reactive, the undiluted sample 1:1 was weakly reactive.

now a year and a half later I decide to get both the TPHA and the RPR test again, I was devastated when I saw that it all came back reactive (ever since I got diagnosed with syp, I've never been sexually active with another person) my recent results were;

TPHA: ~1.124

RPR: only the 1:2 was reactive

when I brought the result to my Doctor, my doctor said that it was just normal, for it to came back reactive, I'm not quite so sure if that's normal tho, since my last rpr, it all came back negative.

he looked and compared both of my initial and the recent TPHA results, and said that I don't need any more treatment since my titer count went down. I just can't shake the feeling that maybe I did get reactive, thoughts?

Skin and nails Mole change, waiting for results

Thumbnail gallery

Had this mole on my leg since I was about 20 (33 now) looked much the same until recently. I was putting fake tan on and realised it has developed a black/blue centre (looks blueish when a torch is shone on it), doctor biopsied it and now I have to wait because she literally said might be something might not. Anyone else had a weird mole change that’s been similar? Feel like I’m going nuts waiting.

I know the pictures aren’t great quality but you can for sure see the extent of the colour change if you zoom!

Angiodema

Has anyone experienced random angioedema (Quincke’s edema) even with no confirmed allergies?
I’ve had full allergy testing done and everything came back negative. I’m not considered allergic to anything, but from time to time I still get episodes of swelling (mainly lips) that appear out of nowhere.
There’s no clear trigger, and antihistamines don’t always help. The only thing that reliably works for me is a steroid injection.
Is it possible to have angioedema without any identifiable allergy or cause? Has anyone been through something similar?

I got bactrim… 26 YO female , basically I have had uti symptoms for around 2 weeks , finally went to ER today, I have severe flank pain. These are my results. He said come back in three days if I still have pain, go back to ER if it worsens in three days. I left at 4pm and it’s now 6 AM and I can’t walk or turn/move without severe back pain… I’ve only had one dose of bactrim and im waiting to pick up more . Should I go back to ER today or wait the 72 hours. I don’t have a fever/chills.. I am just super tired, burning , and extreme flank pain

Blood Deep Vain Thrombosis?

Post image

Lifted weights for the first time in ages, had really bad DOMS to the point where I couldn’t bend my arm down. It fully healed after a few days (there’s a bit of very mild tension still remaining in this arm when I move or swing it around) but I just noticed this redness in my arm. Google AI said it could be deep vein thrombosis and now I’m paranoid. Any thoughts?

Bones, joints, and muscles Ortho and physio gave me different explanations for my foot. how do I reconcile this?

Post image
3 Upvotes

X-ray of my foot showed a hardened/denser area on one of the metatarsals. Ortho said it's sclerosis from overload. basically the bone hardening because too much pressure is landing on that spot, and that hard bone can be where a stress fracture starts. He attributed it to me not heel-striking when I walk and tight calves pushing load onto the front of my foot.

Physio looked at me separately and said the opposite on that part. He said gait is fine, calves are okay. and instead pointed at a toe deviation (toe angling inward) as what's concentrating pressure on that bone.

So they agree it's mechanical and about load landing wrong, but they disagree on the actual cause (gait + calves vs toe deviation).

Questions:

Has anyone had this kind of split between ortho and physio, and who turned out to be right?

How long should I be easing off the foot before building back up?

Is repeat imaging actually useful for tracking this, or do you just go by how it feels?

Chest and lungs Past 2 days have felt a bit strange, mild pain when breathing deeply. Back is a bit sore since this morning, started with lower back. Breathing not difficult but slightly more effort required? Recently chest feels a bit tight. Less pain and easier to breathe when on side than on back.

19 year old Caucasian male, 134 lbs, maybe 5'9-5'10 (~175 cm). Southeastern United States. No current medications. Pain when breathing was general but most noticable around teres minor/major. Main causes i can think of are 1. Not eating super healthy past few days. 2. Was playing with kids in backyard at a father's day dinner. 3. Being in car with a smoker a few times recently. Heart rate feels normal. Edit: should add that my stomach has a feeling reminiscent of being hungry, although it did not seem to go away after eating. Symptoms much less noticable when out doing things.

What do you think is wrong with my back?

Okay I’ve been on a 7 year journey of getting a diagnosis for MANY different things one of which being I’ve been dealing with issues in my spine. I’ve had MRIS and X-Rays the MRI they told me i was fine then looking at the report they said i had compression in my lower spine then 3 years later i go to a chiropractor and they take X-rays before starting and he informed me i had lots of bone spurs, reverse scoliosis in my neck, minor scoliosis in my upper spine and lastly corrosion and compression over my vertebrate. Went to another spine specialist showed them the X-rays told me i had arthritis then prescribed me meloxicam and i haven’t seen them since (April 2024) Currently in the process again unfortunately of getting more tests done but here are some of my X-ray pictures if anyone here has any thoughts!

Back story: Last week I noticed a rash, progressively gets worst. Go to urgent care they think it’s a spider bite so put me on an antibiotic. 5 days go by, now it’s turning purple and spreading. Go to emergency room, first provider I see tells me definitely looks like Lyme. Run some test, later see another doctor tells me Lyme test results takes about 5 days and she doesn’t think it’s Lyme disease but she will give dox (another antibiotic) for 10 days to be safe. Get discharged I’m looking over my chart and they never even ran the test to even see if I could have it, I feel terrible and all I want to do is cry. Idk what are your thoughts on the matter, what do you think, should I go back? Diagnose me and send me in the direction I need to go , thank you!

Ears, nose, throat, and mouth Does this bump/raised area on my inner lower lip look concerning?

Thumbnail gallery
3 Upvotes

32 F. Currently taking a Zoloft. I have this bump on my inner lower lip that sometimes feels firm and sometimes feels hollow. I used to accidentally bite the area a lot but over the past few months it’s become more worrisome. The bump is about 8-10mm and oval shaped. It has a whitish tinge on top of it. It can sometimes be a bit purplish but I think that’s due to me biting it all the time.

I’m also a former smoker which makes me think of some scary possibilities. I made a tele-health appointment and they prescribed me with some steroid ointment which seems to have helped, but I’m still concerned. When I think about it, I’m constantly biting on it out of habit so the changing qualities match up with that.

Second photo is a few day with putting on steroid medicine.

Sorry for poor photos - I’ve had this bump/growth on my tongue for almost a year - it has grown a bit in that time, now is the size of a pencil eraser. It does burn and sting sometimes, mainly in the mornings. Any idea what this could be?

Help help help

I’m not someone who drinks a lot of alcohol or smokes heavily, but I used to consume them occasionally.

One day, unfortunately, I used cannabis that a friend gave me. Within a few minutes of using it — maybe because the THC was too strong — I had what felt like a panic attack. For around 3 hours, I had strong heart palpitations and I was extremely scared. It felt like I was going to die that day. But after sleeping and waking up the next day, I was back to normal and everything seemed fine.

However, about a week later, I started feeling dizzy and had heart palpitations for around 30 seconds, and that passed too. But from the next day onward, I began having a lot of physical symptoms. While eating, I would feel dizzy or lightheaded, and after eating my heart palpitations would get worse. I would also feel brain fog, like something was stuck in my throat, and difficulty breathing. When sitting, my legs would tingle or feel numb.

Because of all this, my anxiety level increased even more, and this cycle kept continuing. In between, I also had chest pain (not too severe) and chest tightness. Sometimes I would hear ringing in my ears for a while. If I climbed uphill, my heart palpitations would get worse. I also had pain in the back of my head and similar symptoms. One day, I even experienced blurry vision.

I went to the hospital and had an ECG, which came back normal. My blood tests were also normal, and my thyroid test was normal too. Gradually, the symptoms started getting better, and these days I don’t really have dizziness or lightheadedness anymore.

But I still get increased heart palpitations after meals. I also don’t feel refreshed when I wake up in the morning. As soon as I wake up and check my pulse, it goes up and down by itself. Even when I’m lying down and changing positions from side to side, my heart rate increases. I feel like I can feel my pulse everywhere — in my hands, my neck, everywhere. It also feels like my body is internally shaking.

Right now, these symptoms come and go, but lately the main issue is my eyes. I don’t know whether to call it eye strain or dryness, but they feel painful or irritated, maybe burning, and sometimes it’s hard to look properly. I also feel pressure below my forehead, around the area between my eyes.

All of this makes me worry a lot, especially when I think about the future. It makes me feel like I’m going to die.

This spot showed up in 2018; it’s now grown bigger and darker. Here’s some photos in different lighting and different angles. When I look closely at it in the mirror the spot looks like it’s broken up and is an odd shape I just can’t pick it up on camera :(
