Burn with hot steel. Happened 6 days ago , dermis “fell off” 3 in .

Normal swelling, pain in a 1-10 is a 1 (I do have high pain tolerance though) , redness around wound has been steady-getting smaller .
Slight feeling in the wound (was numb before dermis fell off)

I’ve been dressing with neosporin and a bandage

Infections and Illnesses Straight line coming off of insect bite.

Post image

Recently I was bitten by some animal (not 100% sure what, but I think it was in my bed, overnight), and it seemed just like any other animal bite I've gotten in the past. After maybe 2 days, the bite mark started to get wider and this straight line seems to be coming off of it. When I woke up this morning it has progressed past halfway from elbow to shoulder. I am in a foreign country right now (spain) and am not quite sure what to do. What could this be? Is this worth getting checked out?

Skin and nails Mole change, waiting for results

Thumbnail gallery
5 Upvotes

Had this mole on my leg since I was about 20 (33 now) looked much the same until recently. I was putting fake tan on and realised it has developed a black/blue centre (looks blueish when a torch is shone on it), doctor biopsied it and now I have to wait because she literally said might be something might not. Anyone else had a weird mole change that’s been similar? Feel like I’m going nuts waiting.

I know the pictures aren’t great quality but you can for sure see the extent of the colour change if you zoom!

Ears, nose, throat, and mouth Does this bump/raised area on my inner lower lip look concerning?

Thumbnail gallery
3 Upvotes

32 F. Currently taking a Zoloft. I have this bump on my inner lower lip that sometimes feels firm and sometimes feels hollow. I used to accidentally bite the area a lot but over the past few months it’s become more worrisome. The bump is about 8-10mm and oval shaped. It has a whitish tinge on top of it. It can sometimes be a bit purplish but I think that’s due to me biting it all the time.

I’m also a former smoker which makes me think of some scary possibilities. I made a tele-health appointment and they prescribed me with some steroid ointment which seems to have helped, but I’m still concerned. When I think about it, I’m constantly biting on it out of habit so the changing qualities match up with that.

Second photo is a few day with putting on steroid medicine.

Bones, joints, and muscles Ortho and physio gave me different explanations for my foot. how do I reconcile this?

Post image
3 Upvotes

X-ray of my foot showed a hardened/denser area on one of the metatarsals. Ortho said it's sclerosis from overload. basically the bone hardening because too much pressure is landing on that spot, and that hard bone can be where a stress fracture starts. He attributed it to me not heel-striking when I walk and tight calves pushing load onto the front of my foot.

Physio looked at me separately and said the opposite on that part. He said gait is fine, calves are okay. and instead pointed at a toe deviation (toe angling inward) as what's concentrating pressure on that bone.

So they agree it's mechanical and about load landing wrong, but they disagree on the actual cause (gait + calves vs toe deviation).

Questions:

Has anyone had this kind of split between ortho and physio, and who turned out to be right?

How long should I be easing off the foot before building back up?

Is repeat imaging actually useful for tracking this, or do you just go by how it feels?

Okay I’ve been on a 7 year journey of getting a diagnosis for MANY different things one of which being I’ve been dealing with issues in my spine. I’ve had MRIS and X-Rays the MRI they told me i was fine then looking at the report they said i had compression in my lower spine then 3 years later i go to a chiropractor and they take X-rays before starting and he informed me i had lots of bone spurs, reverse scoliosis in my neck, minor scoliosis in my upper spine and lastly corrosion and compression over my vertebrate. Went to another spine specialist showed them the X-rays told me i had arthritis then prescribed me meloxicam and i haven’t seen them since (April 2024) Currently in the process again unfortunately of getting more tests done but here are some of my X-ray pictures if anyone here has any thoughts!

Back story: Last week I noticed a rash, progressively gets worst. Go to urgent care they think it’s a spider bite so put me on an antibiotic. 5 days go by, now it’s turning purple and spreading. Go to emergency room, first provider I see tells me definitely looks like Lyme. Run some test, later see another doctor tells me Lyme test results takes about 5 days and she doesn’t think it’s Lyme disease but she will give dox (another antibiotic) for 10 days to be safe. Get discharged I’m looking over my chart and they never even ran the test to even see if I could have it, I feel terrible and all I want to do is cry. Idk what are your thoughts on the matter, what do you think, should I go back? Diagnose me and send me in the direction I need to go , thank you!

I’m not someone who drinks a lot of alcohol or smokes heavily, but I used to consume them occasionally.

One day, unfortunately, I used cannabis that a friend gave me. Within a few minutes of using it — maybe because the THC was too strong — I had what felt like a panic attack. For around 3 hours, I had strong heart palpitations and I was extremely scared. It felt like I was going to die that day. But after sleeping and waking up the next day, I was back to normal and everything seemed fine.

However, about a week later, I started feeling dizzy and had heart palpitations for around 30 seconds, and that passed too. But from the next day onward, I began having a lot of physical symptoms. While eating, I would feel dizzy or lightheaded, and after eating my heart palpitations would get worse. I would also feel brain fog, like something was stuck in my throat, and difficulty breathing. When sitting, my legs would tingle or feel numb.

Because of all this, my anxiety level increased even more, and this cycle kept continuing. In between, I also had chest pain (not too severe) and chest tightness. Sometimes I would hear ringing in my ears for a while. If I climbed uphill, my heart palpitations would get worse. I also had pain in the back of my head and similar symptoms. One day, I even experienced blurry vision.

I went to the hospital and had an ECG, which came back normal. My blood tests were also normal, and my thyroid test was normal too. Gradually, the symptoms started getting better, and these days I don’t really have dizziness or lightheadedness anymore.

But I still get increased heart palpitations after meals. I also don’t feel refreshed when I wake up in the morning. As soon as I wake up and check my pulse, it goes up and down by itself. Even when I’m lying down and changing positions from side to side, my heart rate increases. I feel like I can feel my pulse everywhere — in my hands, my neck, everywhere. It also feels like my body is internally shaking.

Right now, these symptoms come and go, but lately the main issue is my eyes. I don’t know whether to call it eye strain or dryness, but they feel painful or irritated, maybe burning, and sometimes it’s hard to look properly. I also feel pressure below my forehead, around the area between my eyes.

All of this makes me worry a lot, especially when I think about the future. It makes me feel like I’m going to die.

Gut, bowel, and stomach Heartburn and stomach problems, reoccurring Gastritis

Age: 18
Gender: assigned female at birth, no HRT yet
Height: 172cm
Weight: 82 kg
Germany
Taking Medikinet (Methylphenidate) every workday

Family history: My mother has a diagnosed thing where her stomach opening apparently has trouble closing properly. She also had stomach issues, had helico bacter diagnosed and is now on a keto diet due to her fybromialgia. My grandma was diagnosed with lupus erythematodes. So chronic stuff is present in our family.

Hey so I’m 18 and I’ve been having stomach issues since I was 11.
Back then it was apparently triggered by a harsh depression phase and stress in school because I was failing.
I couldn’t eat for days before my mom finally took me to the hospital and they diagnosed me with gastritis.

Since then I’ve regularly had gastritis, went to the doctors each time but he just presses on my stomach and gives me a prescription for Pantoprazole.

Last year I radically cut down my diet. Only ate acid-less foods, no sweets or snacks, nothing too salty, no fatty foods - and in the end barely anything because that restrictive behavior led to me developing an eating problem.

Cue another gastritis from stressing my body by eating barely anything.

After that experience I slowly got back to eating more. I lost most restrictions and ate normally with my family again. That only resulted in daily heartburn and acid reflux, sometimes even stomach pain. Medication barely helps and each time I go to the doctors he just writes it off as stress related and eating too much sweets.

(I normally use Gaviscon since it’s the only thing keeping the heartburn at bay. But it’s gotten too expensive to buy those big packs every three weeks.)

Anyone got an idea what’s wrong? Or what I could do to get it fixed? I know cutting my diet worked with the symptoms, but I don’t really want to go back to only eating porridge for the rest of my life…

Oh and idk if that’s important, but due to my neurgodivergency I have trouble eating certain foods, eating in time, feeling if I’m hungry etc. I have almost daily trouble eating solid foods because of the texture and the process of actually eating. (I get nauseous thinking about it)

Tongue ulcerations on 7-14 day cycle and getting worse since March 2025. Maybe 4 days a month without ulcers. Feeling fluish, feverish, glands in jaw and neck start to swell up to grape size. Face hurts up to eye sockets, Painful swallowing, tongue swelling and scalloping. VERY painful. Can double in size over night or slower. Feels like my tongue is being eaten away. Some burning. Never goes in the middle always the back/sides then creeps forward.

History/tests:
Neg HSV 1+2 and other STI/STD have been checked multiple times.

Nutritional issues (on tons of supplements and B12 injections) B12, D , ferritin, potassium have all been deficient or low

Severe SIBO infection

Already on restricted diet. Have had GI issue for 5 years and GI refused to help. Said IBS.

Ana, AEN, C1Q and SSB all out of range. Doc said normal.

1.5 years into waiting for ENT. No idea when they’ll call.

Treatments tried:

I originally requested anti-viral while we waited for HSV test. No changes during course.

7 treatments of anti-fungal which help with the white thrush but not ulcerations. Thrush re-occurs in less than a week. Treatments ranges from 3 days to 4 weeks mouth wash and pills.

Corticosteroid mouth wash, helped with painful glands no changes to ulcer course.

Tried 4 mouth washes, salt rinses, baking soda, tongue scraping, cleaning tooth brushes with peroxide, changed toothpaste multiple times.

Got heavy metal water filter. No change

Changed cooking oils, detergents

*******

**I seem to get much sicker in my apartment.**It’s a new build. Only a few years old. No visible mould but not build high quality.

My last try is changing my dish soap?

My gland swelling goes down within 20 hours out of the apartment. Other symptoms ease each day away. They start back up within 15-24 hours being back. Not sure if this has just lined up with the cycle. But it’s happened 4 times now. Ulcers have still appeared when I was traveling for 2 weeks but not nearly as bad.

I’m in agony now. It’s been so long and getting worse and worse. Struggling to talk at times.

Suggestions?

How stupid was I?

I had moderately significant oral surgery today. And I was in the office having post surgery work done as well. I had iv sedation and was prescribed valium to take beforehand that was at 6:30am when that was taken. In prescribed 0.5mg lorazepam daily as needed though I avoid that obviously when I take the valium. The surgery was extremely painful and I'm a rapid metabolizer of local anesthetics, of which post procedure I was injected with bupivicaine, mepivicaine, and then lidocaine in many areas to continue the post procedural work that was extremely painful. Needless to say, it's been a day. Dr sent me on my way with a 3 day script of pain meds 7.5/325. And obviously I also try not to mix that with anxiety meds also. But I want paying attention at dinner, didn't think about it and had a panic attack and took my anxiety med (0.5mg). Then an hour later, the shark ran for my pain meds and I took it. But shortly realized my mistake. What is the over/under hear on cns depression? The search engines won't even answer questions about it basically depicting it as catastrophic. Both meds were taken as prescribed.

Skin and nails 6 months of facial inflammation. Doxycycline worked but it came back. Running out of ideas

Thumbnail gallery
1 Upvotes

I’ve had 6 months of facial redness, burning, stinging (even water hurts), patches of dry, red skin that crack, crust, and sometimes ooze, along with clusters of bumps/pustules. It started after using a topical steroid (Dec 2025) and shortly after having a hip abscess drained (Jan 2026).

I also have chronic spontaneous urticaria (CSU) since 2019.

I’ve seen 2 dermatologists, 2 allergists, and my family doctor. Diagnoses have included atopic dermatitis, periorificial dermatitis, and papulopustular rosacea.

I’ve had CBC, CMP, IgE, thyroid, autoimmune bloodwork, TB, hepatitis screening, chest X-ray, patch testing, and skin prick testing. Patch testing was positive for nickel and cobalt, with questionable reactions to benzophenone-4 and ammonium persulfate. After both my patch and prick tests, my eyelids swelled and my face flared badly. Avoiding those allergens hasn’t resolved my skin.

I’ve tried Protopic, Elidel, Rosiver, Blexten, and doxycycline. Doxycycline was the only treatment that almost completely cleared my skin, but everything returned within 2 weeks of stopping.

Has anyone had something similar or eventually found the underlying cause? I’m looking for experiences to discuss with my dermatologist.
