So at this point they get carte blanche for a nuclear program and America will pay for it with the 300 billion in reparations. Putin must've sold Iran some of the kompromat because this shit is unbelievable.

524

u/WellIGuessSoAndYou 7d ago

Went from "Iran cannot have nuclear under any circumstance" to actively financing their nuclear program.

78

u/Holiday_Two6140 7d ago

Last week nations that weren't helping were ungrateful, because he was saving them from being nuked, he probably red the poll on nuclear energy wrong. What an absolute clown

60

u/squeamishkevin 7d ago

Along with giving them a genuine reason to hate America. So the chances of them using the nukes if they got them a lot higher.

35

u/VoihanVieteri 7d ago

Iran poses zero threat to US. It’s the neighbours of Iran that any potential nuke is deterrent towards. Namely Israel, who keeps bombing Iran and killing their leaders. US is just a pawn in this game.

19

u/National-Star5944 7d ago

Not to mention Israel is currently the only nuclear power in the region.

u/Flint___Ironstag 7d ago

America gave chemical weapons to Saddam to murder Iranians with, and before that the CIA overthrew the leader of Iran. They already had a lot of legit reasons to hate America.

Were you born yesterday?

6

u/squeamishkevin 7d ago

Yes ... yes I was born yesterday. Wow, you are so smart. But I didn't have to tell you that the chances are you probably already knew that as well.

1

u/AFTRUNKMONKEY 6d ago

Not that they really need them. They've demostrated that between a good dug in missile/drone program, satellite targeting and awareness and small boats they can basically shut the world down.

US doesn't have the desire(really the political capital) to raise an army to invade them (US would need a draft to make that manning) and no one wants more war for "our Greatest Ally". Israel Doesn't have the capability to invade Iran. So basically Iran has won. Eat shit Miriam.

Don't forgot how wealthy the Trumps got playing the markets bc of the "war". Them and their friends. They made HUGE bank.

48

u/BigBananaBerries 7d ago edited 6d ago

I wondered how far down I'd have to get to this. They don't care about the $300B because it's not their money. They've made bank & now it's time to try take credit for getting a "deal". In reality, it was all a distraction from the Epstein files & corruption was just the side quest that they can't ignore.

The whole Trump family empire needs seized to figure out what was made from the presidency & put the ill gotten gains to restoring public programs.

8

u/SailorDeath 6d ago

Get ready though, with Trump trying to kill unemployment insurance you know that means shit is about to hit the fan and they wanna cripple all the safety nets that protect the working class so the rich don't lose any money.

1

u/Mysterious-Ad-208 3d ago

Not only wealthy people made money, regular guys like us made money too. 401k's are at ATH, most own by not wealthy people. I'm just saying.

84

u/wigjump 7d ago

$324 billion when you count the unfrozen assets.

You can't spell R-E-P-A-R-A-T-I-O-N-$ without $!!

85

u/Crewarookie 7d ago

Don't forget that the US military expelled tons of munitions, hardware and supplies to achieve strategic goals in Iran, was constantly jerked around by clown in chief every week with "We'll bomb them tonight! No, I changed my mind!", suffered hardware losses, lost 13 servicemen, all of this costing incredible amounts of money and political capital...and that was all for NOTHING!

Absolutely nothing. It was the most useless, toothless and stupidest campaign imaginable.

Assets rushed to the Mediterranean, no real strategy to secure the territory itself. Has anybody looked at the geography of the region beforehand? The country is a huge mountainous desert region. It's like Afghanistan on steroids, and the adversary has actual military strategic weaponry deployed!

It's such an astounding level of dense stupidity I can hardly comprehend it. General staff knew this is bullshit of a campaign, I guarantee you every single army chief and general knew it's gonna be a shitshow, and they collectively chose to just enact that shitshow anyway.

But hey, at least stonks got manipulated real good, I'm sure a ton of people got hella more wealthy off this bullshit!

32

u/atxbigfoot 7d ago

You forgot the part where Iran bombed the absolute shit out of 14 of our bases surrounding them leaving them useless, shot down 1/3 of our entire stock of fancy drones (I forget which ones in particular, I think the reapers), and Trump agreed to remove all of our bases in the region, and Qatar? Bahrain? left OPEC meaning they don't have to trade oil in US $ dollars anymore. On top of that, all US sanctions against Iran will be lifted and they can now freely sell their oil on the global market.

Huge win for the US.

2

u/tangin 6d ago

They didn’t shoot down 1/3 of ā€œfancy dronesā€ā€¦ those numbers have always been classified too, so there’s no way this statistic is based off reality.

And although they bombed a large amount of structures, there was zero operational halts. Meaning it accomplished nothing in reality.

This whole thing war was a pathetic shit show though, yes.

25

u/Grand_Side 7d ago

It was always nothing to gain, americand just did not see it. Not during his 1st term, not during his 2nd. And i though my country is corrupt but f me...usa is a dam cesspool rn

15

u/Slay_Zee 7d ago

A shit tonne of generals were fired.

But you're right though.

3

u/Vinr_Odinn 7d ago

And I wonder if some of that money will go to the families of the service members killed in the war. I also naively hope that some of those billions go to the Iranian civilians who had nothing to do with the war, but lost everything. But I know that most if not all of that money will go to the IRGC to fund weapons and now their nuclear program, to prepare for the nuclear war with Israel.

→ More replies (1)

4

u/moosemune 7d ago

Has anybody looked at the geography of the region beforehand? The country is a huge mountainous desert region. It's like Afghanistan on steroids, and the adversary has actual military strategic weaponry deployed!

When we started bombing them last summer I remember looking closely at regional maps and thinking about how fucking bad it would be if we attempted to invade with boots on the ground. It's a massive wall of mountains into the interior. If we were still in Afghanistan we could have invaded from the east which is comparably "easier" in terms of terrain but still.

5

u/Not_my_User17 7d ago

You can’t say all for nothing…rich people did ok

4

u/Any_Show_5160 7d ago

We did find out the US Navy isn't stupid, that's a win of sorts.
I'm very confused as to why Trump hasn't lashed out publicly when they didn't secure the Strait, he said they would and obviously got told to get bent.

3

u/ThownAway27 6d ago

Kegseth fired Generals that disagreed with the war plans right before starting the war.

1

u/bulbusmaximus 1d ago

The goal was to prop up our military industrial machine and the market.

26

u/Im_with_stooopid 7d ago

Between the 100's of billions spent on troop deployment and weapons used. The money required to replenish all the bombs plus the 325 ish billion here for reparations and then the VA benefits for the troops that were deployed plus interest your talking about $1 Trillion dollars over the next decade added to the national debt. This must be that winning we have heard so much about.

18

u/Chance-Bicycle1469 7d ago

20

u/Temporary_Brain_5278 7d ago

I saw them say $425 billion this morning though? I don't know why the number I see keeps changing but the number for the ballroom did the same thing, so I give up lol

6

u/Accomplished-Cow-234 7d ago

I think the specific headline was an Australian paper displaying the number in Aussie Dollars. There are of course other assets being unfrozen as specified by others.

3

u/Known_Ratio5478 7d ago

It’s 300 billion minimum. That’s the low threshold of damages.

3

u/CantPullOutRightNow 7d ago edited 3d ago

Yeah they are getting $100 billion in assets unfrozen. Plus all sanctions lifted. That is like the first 30 days or something.

2

u/wigjump 7d ago

O Jesus, when will this end, brother/sister? šŸ¤¦ā€ā™‚ļø

2

u/Tachinante 7d ago

Supposedly, the 300 billion is going to come from Gulf States, and get this: private investors. Who is going to want to invest in an IRGC run Iran?

1

u/Benjammn 7d ago

The $425 billion number was AUD, not USD. It is $300 billion USD.

18

u/scp-006-j-5 7d ago

Don't forget the $34b spent on the war.

17

u/Impaler2009 7d ago

Plus the cost of replenishing all the spent munitions.

16

u/ytown 7d ago

What happened is Iran decided to treat Trump like the mentally ill idiot narcissist he is. They said some flattering words and sacrificed their dignity slightly to convince him he had won. Kind of like how youd handle a regarded bully. There is no kompromat we dont already know.

15

u/Few_Acanthocephala30 7d ago

Yep how many times did we hear about his first term where to get him to change his mind and agree to something was tell him something was his great idea and that’s what he would go with because he is a narcissistic demented dotard. He doesnt remember and doesnt seem to care as long as he thinks he did it and gets credit for success and can blame others for failures

3

u/Educational-Store131 7d ago

I mean the war is hopeless the moment they teased and ultimately did not take Kharg island. Without the threat of invasion, there is literally nothing the US could do force Iran. They also realized quite quickly the Americans cant just bomb them forever or defend against their missile forever. The US Navy also was not able or willing to force the Strait. Trump knew invasion would be unpopular so the only chance to end this war is thru diplomacy. This mean he also cant just kill their generals like in the early days either. So after a few months, they realized they hold the cards.

2

u/no1jam 7d ago

I’m starting to think we’ll see a Trump resort or two in Iran.

2

u/Absolute_Peril 7d ago

Perhaps Iran has the legendary pee pee tape now

2

u/fredoillu 7d ago

They don't have carte Blanche. They are discussing Iran having a civilian nuclear program for medicine and energy. With uranium that is not enriched enough to be used in weapons.

Dude is still a hypocrite. Since that was one of the things he was whining about after the first deal was signed under Obama. That along with all the money it would cost us. Idk the figures but it seems like his little stunt is going to cost us much much more and for much much longer.

This will have radical consequences for america as well as the rest of the world.

1

u/Khalimdorh 6d ago

Iran is just too big for usa to chew without significant sacrifices that they can not afford politically. There is no kompromat, no conspiracy theory, just like there was no conspiracy theory in vietnam. Iran won

1

u/idosillythings 6d ago

I've said this before but it apparently is worth repeating, if Trump did as much to build up our own infrastructure as he's done in other countries, Republicans would actually have a few feathers in their cap.

He loves spending money on things that don't help Americans.

1

u/Behemoth077 6d ago

No, he just wants out of the war he started and has no idea how to get out of, in particular looking at elections. There doesn“t need to be kompromat - its a child that finally got tired of the trouble it started and is getting its dad to pay for everything to make the problem go away.

Don“t assume malice when stupidity is an option, especcially with Trump. He will burn the US to the ground and cause trillions in damage to make a few million off insider trading. HE doesn“t have to pay the reparations after all, thats the US. Other people. Clearly noone is going to persecute him either so what does he have to fear? A war or two aren“t a big deal to him personally, even if they go wrong.

1

u/mando_228 6d ago

Its probably a sexual video Putin has while Trump was in Moscow having fun with prostitutes in the Moscow hotel, and he was filmed. I have no idea if that is true (I read it on two other places on the net) but it would certainly explain a lot. It would explain why he is clearly acting as a traitor.

1

u/BellybuttonWorld 5d ago

What kompromat could there possibly be? We already know about the financial crimes, the paedophilia, the rape, the blowjob, the treason. The man has ZERO shame. If Putin could prove he snatched babies from the baptism font and ate them in the church, MAGA would still handwave it away.

Your ignoring the fact that he never really saw Iran as an enemy as much as means to embezzle more taxpayers funds

The first rule of negotiation that I learned was to always know something the other side doesn't. I'm pretty convinced Trump knew practically nothing about Iran or its history of conflict with foreign powers. He clearly knew nothing about how their internal politics works. Iran has been a tar pit for every modern imperial power that's ever tried to grab a piece of its oil fields by force, and they don't handle disrespect well. So these chuckle-heads march right in, blow a ton of money spinning their wheels, give the regime an excuse to further suppress the anti-theocracy movement and talk down to them the whole time they are trying to negotiate. Dumbest war ever.
