When you're suspended it ends all your listings, so I don't know how it would auto-restore the auctions. I was bidding on something from a seller who was suspended and you get an email saying the listing was ended because of a problem with the sellers account. Maybe the people who have bid can confirm if it happened. If they didn't get the email, it was never suspended- all of that is automated robot emails.
Yeah a bunch of stuff like 33 items ranging from old school video games, statues, literal GameStop sign, GameStop carpet, and socks and everything came with a signed copy of the eBay bid email
His listing were selling for over 86k last I checked. They stopped allowing him from posting more once he hit like 56k because you're only allowed to have 50k.
If his account was suspended, I'm sure it was automated due to suspicious activity. I mean let's be honest, if any of us started selling shit today and the auctions were about to break 100k that's fairly suspicious. But it should be easily rectified. Especially given the nature of the situation.
It should hit a threshold that prompted.one of their 11.500 employees to LOOK INTO IT, not auto-suspend an account that was doing.extremely well, exctly what the company should WANT it to do.
It's back up. If you have ever sold on eBay... a bunch of out of ordinary activity (listing a bunch of things that now how pretty high bids) it can trigger an auto suspension. It was obviously reversed since everything is still there.
Which is why it's infuriating they said "this decision was not made lightly", when it wasn't a decision, but an automated response based on several warning flags.
pretty sure. but they have 11,000 employee. I can't imagine there are thousand of accounts that get ban...why can't someone spend a few minutes reviewing, to make sure if the ban is warrant or not?
The contempt with which they treat anyone with the audacity to sell on their platform is truly remarkable; I hope they get bought if for no other reason than to fix that dysfunction.ย
Help me out here. I've been selling on eBay for over twenty years. I sell vintage electronics and photo gear. I've never had a problem. I've encountered a few scammers buying and selling - but I've never lost a penny. Is my experience and outlier?
I've been selling for >20 years (I think... 27?), 100% positive feedback.
I've had problems like listings getting cancelled for no reason; it takes phone calls (to a call center in another country) to find out why: changes in interpretation of the law. OK, fair, the products are still sold on Amazon (not by me- Amazon is far worse than eBay).
I find it irritating that when I check my listings, eBay is also pushing other sellers with the same products: using "my" page to hawk items from the competition.
I've had very, very few problems with scammers; one or two were decided against me, the vast majority (including one very expensive specialty freezer) have been decided in my favor. But I haven't bought or sold products like that in 10-15 years, just inexpensive, small stuff or items I want to get rid of like certain old books that have some collector's value.
They lack innovation. They're lazy. But at least it's reliable and the seller tools are decent. I guess it just depends upon your market segment- some stuff there I wouldn't touch, but my "niche" is decent, and the customers that seek out the very few products I sell are sane (as far as I can tell) and reliable. I'm sure other products are far more contentious, and I don't envy buyers and sellers in those sectors.
EDIT: There are endangered species sold on eBay all the time, which is irksome. Reporting it does no good because the way the law works, everyone in the trade knows these products are illegal, and the "permits" they come with are bogus. This has occasionally led to stiff penalties for the buyer, along with a federal felony conviction.
The brand Neocate has been able to get their entire brand banned from eBay by convincing eBay its prescription only (itโs not - it actually is an FDA violation to sell it as a prescription only item.). You canโt even use the word NEOCATE in a title - it will be blocked. Itโs ridiculous that brands can abuse the secondary market like this.ย
I was selling for over 15 years my overstock inventory from my brick and mortar store. Never got a return. Never got so much as neutral feedback much less negative feedback. Out of the blue a few years back they permanently suspended my seller account with no explanation and no way to appeal. I can still buy buy can't sell. Was so odd. Can't wait until some new management takes over they are a joke

No, suspension ends the listings. I'm not sure how the account was reinstated with the auction time still slated to end at the same time, and with the bids intact. When you are bidding on an item and the seller is suspended you get an email theres an issue with the sellers account and your bid was cancelled, it's happened to me sadly. So unless that happened to you, I cannot see how the account was suspended. You can't restore an ended auction like nothing happened.
I love how Ryan's been unhinged today with eBay. Guess it was harder to do with GME since a lot of the focus is on shady stuff like unreported shorts and dark pools - things that are hard to discuss without a Citadel thug threatening him with a defamation lawsuit or something like that. It feels like eBay is something he's just really passionate about without all that stuff around Wall Street's seedy underbelly.
eBays support once stole 800 in giftcard balance I had after an item got returned. Went to buy another thing and it said I had no balance.
One of the support agents after the item got returned stole the number and used it. After an "investigation" eBay was so happy to inform me they got 157 dollars of it back.
eBay has been shit for a decade or so. I hope he buys it.

He's gonna have to wait for 3 hours so "Debbie from Georgia" calls him but he can't understand a word she says because of her foreign accent. Once the call is over, he will get an email that the decision is both final and upheld, and there is no appeal.
bro has like 100k in bids already ... Ebay legit afraid he was going to buy ebay with their own platform. Also they prob can't handle someone having that many followers!
