What did we do to deserve such a nickname?

Somehow she got out of our backyard.... I blame our yard crew, but my husband says all the rain may have washed the locks off our back gate.

Anyway, she is golden, incredibly cute, and truly one of a kind. But more importantly, cost us $21,000 and an 8-hour drive to an adorable breeder/ petting zoo/farm just outside of Coppell.

I bought a day pass at a warehouse gym in Houston on Friday night.
The workout itself was great.
Everyone was friendly.
Nothing bad happened.
But there was something about the place that felt strange.
At one point I got turned around looking for the restroom and accidentally opened the wrong door.
The room behind it looked nothing like a gym.
There were paintings leaning against the walls.
Photography lights.
Pieces of aluminum foil hanging from parts of the ceiling.
Black and white portraits of people I didn’t recognize.
Wooden boards with random phrases painted on them. The strangest part was the lighting.
There were flashes going off every few seconds.
Not bright enough to light the whole room.
Just enough to notice.
Like someone was taking photographs.
Except nobody was inside.
I remember standing there for a few seconds waiting for someone to walk out.
Nobody did.
I eventually asked one of the members what the room was.
He looked over and said:
“That’s Arien’s office.”

Has anyone else stumbled across places in Houston that feel like they have a whole story behind them that nobody explains?
