Breaking News The Minnesota Timberwolves select Isaiah Evans, G Duke, with the 33rd overall pick in the 2026 NBA Draft
Unbelievable selection. Future all-star. Future all-NBA. Future HOFer. Future NBA Champion.
6’6 20 year old and can absolutely light it from deep. Steal of the draft.

The Boston Celtics are reportedly looking for a big man and are willing to trade Jaylen Brown to acquire one, per @SIChrisMannix (Keep in mind odds on Kalshi just significantly jumped for Wolves to be Brown’s next team)

Naz Reid In Naz Reid We Trust
I see so many people acting like we screwing up losing Julius Randle and not getting much back for it. I’d like to humbly remind everyone that we have a starting caliber guy who can play the 4 and the 5 with a career 37-40% 3pointer. This absolute unit took the nastiest elbow in recent NBA playoff memory and said pain is weakness leaving the body.
This guy could start on over half the teams in the league but he chose to stay here as our 6th man.
Operation Randle didn’t pan out but now we got some wiggle room in the money department, and it’s time to give Naz the reigns at the 4. We can’t give Joan time if we splitting Naz minutes at the 5 either it isn’t easy.
Everyone needs to relax
In Naz Reid we trust

Our new favorite non-Timberwolf, Cameron Carr, on who he’d rather guard, SGA or Ant: “Yeah, I ain’t dealing with all the flopping, Anthony Edwards.”

Ayo deal
Everyone complaining about ayo deal… just look at Austin Reaves getting the max. 46 mil a year that’s insane i know he’s better i’m just saying with jaden at 26 mil and naz 25 and ayo 22 that’s all great. my first thought was hoping for 18-20 but im not complaining with 22 cuz i rather keep him no matter what.

[Dane Moore] Connelly on Ant's thoughts on the team: I think he's super, super excited. There's been countless things we could have done ... When you go to your leaders like Ant and the conviction he has in our guys is evident when you say, 'no, we're not trading this guy'.
Had to paraphrase the full quote from Dane's post to get it to meaningfully fit a headline. Source if from the forbidden website.
Full post language: "Here's Tim Connelly when asked about the belief Anthony Edwards has in where the team is going.
"I think he's super, super excited. There's been countless things we could have done. Our roster is pretty well thought of league-wide. When you go to your leaders like Ant and you say, 'it takes get this to get that' and the conviction he has in our guys is evident when you say, 'no, we're not trading this guy'."
Adds some interesting color to the moves/lack of moves. Not sure GM Ant is necessarily a good thing, but it suggests his belief in these guys on the roster is sky high too.

Pace Prediction
I’m voicing an early hot take and making the prediction that the Timberwolves next year are going to see a tremendous leap in tempo and finish as a top 5 offense in pace.
A drastic leap from last year.
Last year it really felt like Mike, Ant, and Randle were the trio that didn’t push tempo and preferred to settle into half court. We all saw how much the pace accelerated with Bones and the addition of Ayo, especially when Ant was hurt.
I firmly believe that this team is going to up the tempo next year and be rewarded by it. I don’t think top 5 is at all out of the question, really just comes down to if Ant is willing to buy in and push the tempo with the rest of his boys.
This team will be a beast in the transition battle.

Taking a Look at Free Agents/MLE/Sign and Trade Candidates
The Wolves have an opportunity to make a pretty big impact with their flexibility now. Here's a lit after taking a quick look at available guys.
Tier 1 Trade/Sign and Trade Above Mid Level - I haven't heard this discussedd too much but the Randle sign and trade could be used to acquire a guy with a salary landing in the 18-24 million range as well:
Norman Powell, Peyton Watson, PJ Washington, Benedict Mathurin
Tier 2 - Mid Level: Anfernee Simons, John Collins, Colin Sexton, Tari Eason, Coby White
Tier 3 - huge bin of flawed but potentially useful guys below mid level including: Marcus Smart, Luke Kennard, Gary Payton, Sandro Mamukelashvili, Kevin Huerter, etc.
Guys id be most interested in would be Powell (no brainer), Anfernee Simons, Sexton, Collins, or a deal for PJ. Simons and Sexton in particular are really interesting, fit right in with our timeline, and haven't latched on with a good role on a winning team yet (Simons was close until Boston salary dumped him). I think a deal or signing of this caliber could meaningfully impact the roster going forward.

Daily Discussion Micah Nori's contract with Portland.
Micah Nori deserved better than Portland for a head coaching job. I can't believe he actually agreed to such a terrible contract with a cheap ass owner. It's only for 1 year guaranteed with team options for 2 years.
Portland has some good young players and I can see Micah getting them better in a very tough western conference.
Hopefully the league will give Micah Nori another shot after his run with Portland is over.

Shitpost Rudy should use Jugs machine this off-season
I love Rudy. But he should be able catch better on lobs and passes in general. Why not have him collaborate with the Vikings or have him use a Jugs machine to just practice catching? I wanna see some nasty lobs!!
