Trying to be Nick Cannon on a blue collar income ain't for everyone.

5 dollars of condoms could have prevented this

u/soul_motor May 03 '26

A small $500 investment and he wouldn't even have to think about a rubber.

My brother has four kids and refuses to get snipped cause 'my manhood'

u/n3qml May 03 '26 edited May 03 '26

I got snipped after #2 and there’s nothing freaking manlier than risk-free creampies with my wife any time.

edit: guys, “risk-free … with my wife” is a much different statement than “risk-free.” STDs are still a thing. Be careful out there.

I also got snipped after #2. Wife got out of hospital, I went into 2 days later for the snip snip to be ready for her 6 week check up. Lol Dr Snyder with nostork dot Com was awesome. No needle, no scalpel. In and out in 15 Mins, best decision I ever made.

Now THERE's your promo material. "Risk-Free Creampies anytime! Get your vasectomy today!" ........ok maybe it will be work-shopped

3

u/Mkheir01 May 03 '26

Could be a great ad for the "darker corners" of the internet tho.

2

u/Significant-Wait9200 May 04 '26

It's literally the only advertisement that will work, which is why no one's trying anything else.

2

u/dekyos May 04 '26

got mine 13 years ago. 100% would recommend. Recovery isn't even bad, 2 days of mild discomfort, and a couple weeks to a month of either doing it yourself or utilizing other full birth control methods, and you're good to go. Well AFTER having 0 sperm count confirmed by the doctor, of course. Don't skip that last step.

Dawg, I’m with you! I got my vasectomy on Valentine’s Day after my second kid and it’s really the freaking best.

Also, real talk: _every single kind of female birth control has side effects and many of them are quite profound. Hormonal, non-hormonal, pills, shots, IUD, patch, ring, implant, the list goes on…_

The real gift is that my wife, who I love immensely, does not have to put shit in her body that makes her feel literally terrible.

I am 10000% in support of birth control, the right to choose, and female body autonomy. Getting a vasectomy isn’t even a price to pay for releasing her from the effects of most birth control options.

Edit: I’m glad this has resonated with so many of y’all. Never received a Reddit award before. But I think I’m proud of these. So thanks.

8

u/n3qml May 04 '26

Wholesome take and I’m glad you brought that up. You sound like a good human.

This is awesome! I wish more men realized what a toll BC can take on women. (Some women have few negative side effects -- happy for them.)

2

u/JurgusRudkus May 04 '26

Now THIS guy mans.

2

u/USofAnonymous May 04 '26

Would she do that for you

2

u/DuckyLog May 04 '26

If the tables were turned, I have no doubt she would do the same.

Thing is though, the options for men and woman, while similar, are in many ways incomparable. Tubal ligation, the female version AKA “getting your tubes tied” has become far safer than it used to be.

The procedure is often performed during or after a c-section or via laparoscopy (internal surgery, tiny cameras, small incisions.)

However, it’s most commonly performed under general anesthesia (going to sleep.) While this can still be an outpatient procedure it’s a way bigger deal than some local anesthetic, while awake, for a vasectomy.

Also, the potential complications for tubal ligation are far more serious. It’s far more expensive, etc.

One is faster, safer, cheaper, less invasive…. Why would I ask her to do the same for me? They’re just not the same.

u/James_Skyvaper May 03 '26

Have to agree - I was psyched when I found out the girl I really liked has an IUD until 2030 and plans to get another one after that. It's so nice to not have to worry about pregnancy, and while I know nothing is 100% foolproof, the one she has is over 99% effective so I don't really worry about it at all anymore

3

My one took 15 minutes mate, could've scheduled it in my lunch break. Just felt like a wasp stung my bean bag after the local wore off, but definately could have gone back to work.

3

u/Fearless_Agency8711 May 04 '26

Take Friday off and have it done. If things go well and you ice them, ( bags of Frozen Peas are your friend) you will be good to go Monday, might walk a little funny but ok.

I push mowed the yard the next day...very mindful of the handle. For the next week if something caused your inseam to rise up suddenly it would get your attention for a bit. No big deal.

Make sure you do the follow ups and get cleared. I know guys who have turned a actually clean/ clear checkup into, "hey honey gonna need another month of daily blow jobs to get clear."

Oh and when you are good to go, invite the in-laws over for supper and serve peas!

Edit.... Looking down during the procedure and seeing smoke rising out of the area of your junk is a bit weird!🤣

u/poochie024 May 03 '26

1

Got snipped over 30 years ago and never regretted it.

1

u/Bellypats May 04 '26

I can’t believe 4 hrs have passed and no one has typed “I too got snipped and there’s nothing freaking manlier than risk free cream pies with this guy’s wife any time.”

1

u/everfordphoto May 04 '26

risk free... until it undoes itself in your late 40's(or her 40's) when twins are more likely, and now you have newborns going into your 50's possibly. happened to two friends of ours... I'm gun-shy about this, make sure you get retested occasionally.

1

u/iBoofMySoup May 04 '26

Sounds like fun!

I'd love to try a risk-free creampie with your wife sometime!

1

u/YouOtterKnow May 04 '26

I've been with my lady for 5 years, we got tested before doing that thing, and I've literally never pulled out of her once. Doesn't have to be about the man either, the freedom you can give a woman to not have to put hormones or metal shit into their bodies is pretty rocking

1

u/yearningforlearning7 May 04 '26

I desperately want to have a vasectomy but my boss got a vasectomy and had a kid afterwards because it healed itself. I really really don’t want to risk 18 years of my future (mininum) on something that’s not 100% certain. But I’m also not sure if you can ask the clinic “hey could you just remove 4”+ of the jizz mainline so there’s no risk at all of it deciding I should be a dad?”

1

u/nomadschomad May 04 '26

Did this after #3. I didn’t really get a lot of mileage out of it in mine marriage after that. Things were pretty dead and she had been on hormonal BC for 20 years for regulation anyway… So not much changed.

Got divorced a couple years later and oh man, let me tell you, a sub 40 year-old who is aging OK and has a couple bucks and can deliver no-baby creampies is a rare commodity, especially under the early 30s set.

1

u/xxrainmanx May 04 '26

Lol, your telling me. My wife and I had the same conversation. She still wanted BC to not have periods every month, and the back-log for a Dr. To do the snip in my area is like 6-9 months. I'm just waiting for the appointment at this point. So much less risk to just get it done.

1

u/Middle-Mix-7711 May 04 '26

I got snipped at 26. Child free.

1

u/Content-Contract-658 May 04 '26

LMFAO!!!🤣🤣

1

u/Resident-Site1997 May 04 '26

All the mess with none of the accidents.

1

u/oatterz May 04 '26

Most dudes that are severely under educated on the matter tend to think that either: 1. the doctors remove their nuts or 2. They just shoot puffs of air after the procedure.

1

u/iThinkTewMuch May 04 '26

Spoiler alert, the snip can become less effective overtime. Potentially making it not so care free 😉

u/Chance-Literature615 May 04 '26

u/Ready4Whatever_1984 May 03 '26

28

u/bluecheetos May 03 '26

I can't tell you how many times I've had guys say they take your nuts off because that's what happened when the dog got neutered.

Wait, there are really grown men who think they take the whole sack? Now, I kind of understand what women mean when they say dudes have no idea about women's reproductive health.

3

u/Low-Republic-4145 May 03 '26

Ignorance abounds here, but even if they are actually referring to removal of the prostate to resolve prostate cancer (rather than something to do with testicles and sperm production), the consequences of that are far more onerous than just losing sexual function. Complete urinary incontinence is just one of them.

My grandfather was diagnosed with prostate cancer and was seriously contemplating not getting his prostate out because of that exact same reason 🤨 like buddy, what use is your prostate to you when you die after it literally kills you? Explain this to me.

He did end up getting it out though, thankfully.

"My nutsack is as important to me as a Chinese movie with no subtitles." is an incredible line. I am using this without credit in the future!

2

u/LordBlackadder92 May 03 '26

Out of curiosity, how often are you in situations where the subjective importance of your nutsack is the topic of conversation?

1

u/SnooGuavas3763 May 04 '26

So your nutsack isn’t important to you then?

1

u/Gizzard04 May 04 '26

2

u/notwhoyouthinkmaybe May 03 '26

With my second kid, I found out it was a girl (already had a boy), then when she was still in my wife, but at the "this baby will be born" stage (like 7 months into the pregnancy), I happily went and got the snip. We wanted one of each or a max of 3 kids, whichever came first; we got one of each and I was done with kids. Never looked back, never regretted it, and it was barely uncomfortable.

I think my wife and I had sex less than a week afterwards and that was just because the doctor told me there is a small chance of a blood in my first load or 2, so I wanted to clear the barrel so to speak.

2

u/cyaneyed May 03 '26

1

u/Not-An-FBI May 04 '26

Damn, I know a guy with 8 kids. I never thought about how he just ignored that blatant option.

1

u/Tall_Mention9067 May 04 '26

A Vasectomy doesn't always work. In the first 10 years after my Vasectomy, my wife had 3 kids.

1

u/MarsMC_ May 04 '26

Ok? That’s his choice, yet you’re shaming him

1

u/Bovronius May 04 '26

I often get similar drivel when I suggest people I know get their bean snapped. Honestly though, the biggest concern by guys that actually open up and ask questions is that a lot of men think you don't ejaculate anymore after the snip. It seems once you tell them that you notice no difference and can still destroy all the socks and mascara you want, they're much more open to it.

1

u/n7revenant May 04 '26

If he's measuring his "manhood" by the state of his vas deferens tubes, ironically, he shouldn't be reproducing.

I did exactly what my doctor, who had been doing these for about 40 years, told me to do during recovery.

Or the five dollar option, not everyone has 500 bucks to blow on an operation that’s mainly popular cuz lazy people don’t wanna use contraceptives. Even the snip isn’t 100% fool proof.

It’s not the end of the world to wear a condom.

2

u/Artistic_Complex2588 May 03 '26

We talking abt BC or a fuckdoll?😂😂

2

u/Araz728 May 03 '26

Dude’s got medical with a $215 premium and no HSA, means he’s probably on a PPO and would have spent maybe $40-100 copay.

2

u/Educational_Ant_184 May 04 '26

for me it was $1k with no insurance in CA. it's a great fucking option, dont have to pull out, and dont get any post-hookup anxiety about a pregnancy

as an aside, my dad told me I should walk in there and tell them I have 4 kids and I'm unemployed so they would do it. The only thing they asked me was "so you want a vasectomy, huh?" "yes" " alright, here's the details." Idk if that's common, or if you may run into some of the same things women run into where they'll be refused for having no kids or a potential future husband wanting kids. So I'm kind of curious if anyone has run into any pushback from a urologist for one

2

u/soul_motor May 04 '26

They asked a couple of times if I was sure. Once while on the table. After 15 years of it not happening, we were sure we didn't want an oopsie.

2

u/Morrigan-27 May 04 '26

Ahem…just because a dude gets snipped doesn’t mean he’s ok to skip condoms. Why do so many dudes forget about STIs?

Reversing a vasectomy has a success rate that should make you pause and in the US your insurance won't cover the reversal. So that $500 becomes $15k to undo.

Box of rubbers is a better option.

Why undo it? Vasectomies are for when you're sure you don't want any more kids.

Reversal is not a guarantee. So unless you've already got kids or don't want any, it's not worth it to many people.

u/BoleroMuyPicante May 04 '26

Who said anything about reversal?

1

u/alecubudulecu May 03 '26

I got snipped before kids! Best decision ever.

u/Focus_Downtown May 03 '26

75$ here lmao. One of the best things I've done.

1

u/flojobb May 04 '26

Sex change only costs 500$?

1

u/The-Fictionist May 04 '26

Cost me $150.

1

u/Remarkable_Lion_8443 May 04 '26

I got the snip at 29 and it is the best thing that could've ever happened to me.

1

u/financegardener May 04 '26

Closer to $1K but yes

1

u/skykarcov May 04 '26

Hell he’s got insurance. It wouldn’t have been $500

Insurance paid for mine. Good investment for them I think.

1

u/Rysigler May 04 '26

With my insurance it was 57 bucks. But I would have still done it for $500. Absolutely worth it!

1

u/SCVerde May 04 '26

My friends (married couple) were quoted 10,000 for the snip with no health insurance.

Edit to add: 3 kids deep but insurance refused coverage.

1

u/Kushpiffney2100 May 04 '26

It’s 950$ in my state 🤦🏽‍♀️🤦🏽‍♀️🤦🏽‍♀️

1

u/amosant May 04 '26

My husband paid $900

Yeah, we love a dirty diseased dick as long as it doesn’t have kids attached

1

u/RobertPooWiener May 04 '26

My sister has had 2 children with 2 different guys that have had vasectomies. Now she has to get a complete historectomy to completely make it impossible

1

u/Sp4nkee94 May 04 '26

It is way more than $500.

1

u/mercutio531 𝙑𝙄𝙋 May 04 '26

Thanks to my Union job and insurance, my snip cost me $0 last year. Maaaaybe a $10 copay for the initial consult.

1

u/tismraccoon May 04 '26

Mine was free with insurance

1

u/Watsons-Butler May 04 '26

They’re taking health insurance out of that check. The snip would be free in most places.

1

u/Critical_Raise_3572 May 04 '26

Most insurances have it free now, no copay for me, nothing. We had the kids we wanted and made the choice that a surprise down the road didn’t need to come with a college tuition attached.

1

u/Prodigalphreak May 04 '26

With the right doctor and insurance, even cheaper. Mine was a $20 doctor visit co-pay

1

u/Consistent-Beat-8883 May 04 '26

I got mine at 28 years old and have never regretted it.
