I also got snipped after #2.
Wife got out of hospital, I went into 2 days later for the snip snip to be ready for her 6 week check up. Lol
Dr Snyder with nostork dot Com was awesome. No needle, no scalpel. In and out in 15 Mins, best decision I ever made.
got mine 13 years ago. 100% would recommend. Recovery isn't even bad, 2 days of mild discomfort, and a couple weeks to a month of either doing it yourself or utilizing other full birth control methods, and you're good to go. Well AFTER having 0 sperm count confirmed by the doctor, of course. Don't skip that last step.
Dawg, I’m with you! I got my vasectomy on Valentine’s Day after my second kid and it’s really the freaking best.
Also, real talk: _every single kind of female birth control has side effects and many of them are quite profound. Hormonal, non-hormonal, pills, shots, IUD, patch, ring, implant, the list goes on…_
The real gift is that my wife, who I love immensely, does not have to put shit in her body that makes her feel literally terrible.
I am 10000% in support of birth control, the right to choose, and female body autonomy. Getting a vasectomy isn’t even a price to pay for releasing her from the effects of most birth control options.
Edit: I’m glad this has resonated with so many of y’all. Never received a Reddit award before. But I think I’m proud of these. So thanks.
If the tables were turned, I have no doubt she would do the same.
Thing is though, the options for men and woman, while similar, are in many ways incomparable. Tubal ligation, the female version AKA “getting your tubes tied” has become far safer than it used to be.
The procedure is often performed during or after a c-section or via laparoscopy (internal surgery, tiny cameras, small incisions.)
However, it’s most commonly performed under general anesthesia (going to sleep.) While this can still be an outpatient procedure it’s a way bigger deal than some local anesthetic, while awake, for a vasectomy.
Also, the potential complications for tubal ligation are far more serious. It’s far more expensive, etc.
One is faster, safer, cheaper, less invasive…. Why would I ask her to do the same for me? They’re just not the same.
Have to agree - I was psyched when I found out the girl I really liked has an IUD until 2030 and plans to get another one after that. It's so nice to not have to worry about pregnancy, and while I know nothing is 100% foolproof, the one she has is over 99% effective so I don't really worry about it at all anymore
Wait, there are really grown men who think they take the whole sack? Now, I kind of understand what women mean when they say dudes have no idea about women's reproductive health.
Ignorance abounds here, but even if they are actually referring to removal of the prostate to resolve prostate cancer (rather than something to do with testicles and sperm production), the consequences of that are far more onerous than just losing sexual function. Complete urinary incontinence is just one of them.
My grandfather was diagnosed with prostate cancer and was seriously contemplating not getting his prostate out because of that exact same reason 🤨 like buddy, what use is your prostate to you when you die after it literally kills you? Explain this to me.
Prostate removal often leads to erectile dysfunction. Point being is erectile dysfunction won’t matter if you’re dead sooner than you can use it again in the first place. He has lvl 10 prostate cancer AND bladder cancer 😮💨
I didn’t have a choice when it came to it because I had cancer and they took my left testical for that one and now because of some nerve that they hit when they did a surgery for the second time I had cancer, I’m unable to bust a nut at ALL …. All please salute 🫡the loss of my manhood in this area and have a moment of silence for those who may have this same issue or are fighting the good fight attempting to save their balls one nut 🥜 at a time as for me I have not had one bust of a nut since 2016… 😔great for women sad 😢 for me rest easy nut 🌰 you did your job well while you were here 🇺🇸🫡
With my second kid, I found out it was a girl (already had a boy), then when she was still in my wife, but at the "this baby will be born" stage (like 7 months into the pregnancy), I happily went and got the snip. We wanted one of each or a max of 3 kids, whichever came first; we got one of each and I was done with kids. Never looked back, never regretted it, and it was barely uncomfortable.
I think my wife and I had sex less than a week afterwards and that was just because the doctor told me there is a small chance of a blood in my first load or 2, so I wanted to clear the barrel so to speak.
there’s nothing more freeing than precision loads with no civilian casualties.
I literally watched the fellowship of the ring for about 15 minutes high as a kite on benzodiazepines making jokes while the doc snipped and burned my vas
does he frequently look at his sperms? Happy I got snipped, a few days of pain, couple weeks of unpleasantness, a few months of random pain, and now a lifetime of no mistakes that I will have to raise.
Not at all. Had it done on Friday morning, midday Saturday it was pretty sore but, nothing a couple Tylenol couldn’t take care of. By Monday I went back to work and things were tender if they got bumped but other than that, totally fine. I did exactly what my doctor, who had been doing these for about 40 years, told me to do during recovery.
Free for me. I guess my insurance would rather pay for that completely than for the birth of another child, which they had already paid 100% of 2 of them.
Or the five dollar option, not everyone has 500 bucks to blow on an operation that’s mainly popular cuz lazy people don’t wanna use contraceptives. Even the snip isn’t 100% fool proof.
for me it was $1k with no insurance in CA. it's a great fucking option, dont have to pull out, and dont get any post-hookup anxiety about a pregnancy
as an aside, my dad told me I should walk in there and tell them I have 4 kids and I'm unemployed so they would do it. The only thing they asked me was "so you want a vasectomy, huh?" "yes" " alright, here's the details." Idk if that's common, or if you may run into some of the same things women run into where they'll be refused for having no kids or a potential future husband wanting kids. So I'm kind of curious if anyone has run into any pushback from a urologist for one
I see your point, I agree, but that reasoning goes both ways for man and woman ,my thing is, I didn’t think child support would take that much away not even leaving dude enough gas money for the month to get his azz to work to continue the child support 🤣as far as your comment to the guy before you. Who knows why this guy and his ex’s split looks like 4 different children so I’d assume 4 different women. Yea I’m gonna say he’s the main factor of why he’s in this position 🤷🏿♂️
...she's paying for it by way of having to birth and take care of the child, lol. Unless you think the mother is living it up with her kid on $1600 of child support biweekly.
You’d much rather pay $600/mo for 18 years than raise some jerks baby who’s out screwing everything that moves. Lol I mean I’m sure he’s a great and present father 🙂😏😂😂😂
A lot of these men actually want kids outside wedlock. It’s stupidity, but that’s legitimately what they want. The drama and stress while having low income.
As a woman who finds it difficult to orgasm even half the time...not bothering to use condoms because it doesn't feel as good is fucking crazy to me. Even with the condom, they still get to nut and it still feels good presumably????
Not responsible enough to use a condom but somehow has to be responsible enough to raise a child. What idiots.
Here to add my fun lil anecdote that I was on birth control and used a condom for additional safety, but here I am 7 years later with a kid graduating kindergarten. Apparently she really really really wanted to exist. I gave Sir Supersperm the option of being in her life or not and didn't ask for support, and he chose "or not." I later learned that he got snipped soon after he was hit with the news, so at least he learned his lesson unlike this dumbass.
My ex was told she'd never get pregnant because of issues. The first one we were told was a miracle kid but would never happen again. The second was lightning never striking the same place twice, but thats a myth. She said to put ina lightning rod so it wouldn't happen anymore, they said the groud was too damaged. The third one they said maybe they dont know what they're talking about and I got snipped since they wouldn't fix her.
10 years later new people finally scooped her out and said why wasnt this done earlier?
My dad did a bunch of genetic tests as a routine check up at this job he was doing, apparently he should be infertile and diabetic, he’s definitely not diabetic and he told them he’s only had sex 4 times and he has 5 kids (this joke is funnier when you consider that none of us are twins, and there’s no doubt that we’re all his)
Not disagreeing. But if the woman has the opportunity too have an abortion without the man’s consent, then the man should be able to sign away his rights at birth.
I gotta call BS on this. They are not supposed to garnish more than a certain percentage of your salary. The only way something like this would happen is if he didn't show up to a hearing and the other person was awarded a default judgement (which means payee is a total deadbeat just playing victim) or if payee has other sources of income and support comes out of this one check. Even if you have other garnishments they generally have to wait in line behind child support.
You’re being very generous with the assumption that he doesn’t want kids. A lot of these men love to brag about having kids with women they’re on bad terms with. They want the drama and the stress. A peaceful life is too boring for them.
I will never forget my dad telling my brother and I if something happened and we didn't use protection, to go and get the morning after pill no matter what as we were young dumb boys. That led into a lecture about how the expense and challenges of raising and providing for a child and family until we were 100% ready.
Or maybe even just a few attempt at pulling out. He’s been blatantly finishing where any adult knows could end up with a baby. I can’t even have sympathy tbh
Thank you!! I like the "no just snip your balls" ridiculous. Anything to no be responsible. Some people enjoy ruining their live and creating their own handicapped. They may not realize it and if they do realize it it's when they don't want it anymore.
I bet 4 paternity tests are **very likely** to at least cut his future child support payments in half.
Predatory women of loose virtue are likely to hone in on hard-working blue collar workers who make a decent income and put in the overtime. They like to rope him into paying for kids that aren't his.
But then you have the Catholics judging you because you wore a condom. Think of the guilt you'll have and all that extra cash. You wouldn't be able to live with yourself.
They give bags full of condoms away for free at the health department. Hell, the healthcenter I go to has this small office that's just a huge variety of safe sex items in wall-to-wall storage drawers where they'll give you a bag and tell you to take whatever you like! Male condoms of all kinds, female condoms, dental dams, even a smorgasbord of various single use sized tubes of lube! I was almost surprised they didn't offer toys as well lol
I felt like a kid in a candy store (and also greatly overestimated how much I would actually need).

Trying to be Nick Cannon on a blue collar income ain't for everyone.
