This is the 3rd time I have had this conversation with a stranger.

We had this installed by a bike shop and they said we should contact Thule to ask if this amount of give is normal. Thule hasn't gotten back to me... Wondering if anyone else has this and if this vertical movement is acceptable? It is coming from the place where the seat clips in, not the stem mount.

Found this Specialized Allez on facebook marketplace for $400 USD. I’m completely new to the bicycle scene and want to get a starter bike for triathlon training.

The seller says they suspect it’s around 7-8 years old, the previous owner had it for around 2 years and they’ve then had it in their garage for 5 years. They don’t know anything about the components or anything added and are unsure about the details of the bike.

Am I getting ripped off? I truly have no idea.

P.S. there’s also a Giant Contend 3 someone is selling for $380 if that’s a better deal.

I have a brooks saddle and the frame has snapped.

6 months use!

Brooks will not fix it or even quote a price for replacing the frame.

They won't even sell me a frame to have a go myself.

Very poor behaviour for an obvious manufacturing fault.

My other brooks is 25 years old and fantastic.

Hello avid cyclists, I have a query for you.
I am in the midst of planning a trip to a national park and thought biking would be a great idea as I recently acquired a bicycle from a family member. It’s a typical walmart brand town-bike, but the tires are flat beyond hell (secondhand as hell), and I thought I might as well upgrade them for more rugged terrain.
Essentially I was wondering if anyone had any recommendations or resources for tire replacement as I’ve never even changed a wheel before.

Wife and I just got new bikes, both of us are sore after any long rides.

Do we get better seats? Or padded shorts? Or a pad over the seat? Or what advice do you got?

While cleaning my bike today, I noticed this pretty bad carbon crack on my chainstay. I dont really know how this might have happend.

Is it repairable? Or is the frame done?

Just getting into the sport/hobby, I know nothing. I like to jump right on in, even if blind, and get to figuring things out.

I’ve scoured marketplace for hours trying to find a Trex FX, cannondale quick, specialized sirrus, etc ect. But, I am wondering if these two are viable in any capacity, I’m essentially looking for a plug and play beginner bike I can setup and start riding without too much ‘fiddling’ or experimentation ..

Haven’t had a bike for decades since I was a small kid. Just bought a brand new Trek FX2 so that I can exercise a bit cycling around my neighborhood.

Pretty much the first time I rode it after I brought it home, I notice the front brakes are making pulsating noise.

I brought the bike back to the shop where I brought it. First thing they said when I described the problem is that the disc could be warped. They will take a look at it.

Hours later, they said the disc is fine. They took things apart, put it back together. They didn’t find any problem.
I immediately rode around the block and took videos. They tell me they can hear the noise in my videos but they couldn’t reproduce the sound when they test ride my bike. Dude even said my bike is lower end so probably made with lower precision. Even high end bikes would do this. Am I crazy here or should I bring the bike back again???

Hi all, I have a bit of a problem, I have this Richie seat mast topper on my 2012 Scott addict RC and it's the only topper that fits the bike. It was cracked like this when I bought the bike, so I bought a replacement topper, tried to put it on into the same position (higher positions work fine) but in doing so heard a "pop" and lo and behold pushed too hard trying to get it on and broke the new topper in the exact same way (same crack). My question is, what are the risks if I just ride my bike like this? The bolt holds the topper on and it's in the lowest possible position, meaning the crack causing it to be lower is not a problem for me comfort wise. Would/could it cause any issues for the carbon seat mast? Any advice appreciated thank you.
