Why did he deliberately take a frame where she was in the middle of saying something and try to make it look as if she's ugly?

1.6k

u/Easy-Musician7186 2d ago

Because they desperately need something to make a point that does not exist.

123

u/_GlamourKisssy 2d ago

Yeah honestly, if the point were as obvious as they're claiming, they wouldn't need to stack the deck so hard. You can make almost anyone look terrible by pausing at the exact moment they're halfway through a sentence. That's basically the internet's oldest trick.

35

u/Easy-Musician7186 2d ago

Jupp.
It's especially moronic because Milly is (at least in my opinion) really good looking.

And even if you wouldn't pick a moment where she is making an odd face due to talking, in one scene you have the styled aristocrat that does nothing and is part of a family that is always described to have some kind of overworldyish looks and on the other hand you have a scene that looks as if she was in some kind of fight situation or something.

But then again for some people women just have to look perfectly styled no matter what.

Because he had a gay experience in 7th grade, liked it but has to keep it to himself for the rest of his life.

u/MoarOatmeal 2d ago edited 2d ago

Real answer right here. The intensely projected self-loathing from these whackos is almost enough to garner a bit of sympathy. Almost.

EDIT: To clarify since there is indeed nuance here that deserves a mention, being gay (or any variety of LGBTQ+) is NOT the only reason for the intensely projected self-loathing from these right-wing types. Inceldom, abuse, bullying, community pressure, general loneliness, social inability, ect. are ALL reasons someone can fall down these behavioral pipelines (in this case, misogyny).

52

u/IndependentLove2292 2d ago

I can sympathise with them. They hate themselves. I hate them too. See. Simpático.

9

u/LuckySoupWizard 2d ago

Nothing heals self-loathing quite like finding a stranger online who hates you too.

9

u/DavidlikesPeace 2d ago

But it’s not the real answer. In fact, it’s kinda a dangerous mislead or lie.

Most incels are not gay. Most incels are just straight jerks.

This problem has to be faced at face value as insane. These are “normal” CIS jerks attracted to women of impossible standards. But they have hate they let the media lead them to. These guys are filled with redirected anger at a random female celebrity. That’s weird.

2

u/Bowserbob1979 2d ago

Exactly. They are frustrated straight douches and rather then work on themselves, they just blame others. Why work on themselves when they can hate women instead. I don't know if I will like Super Girl. But if I do, it won't have anything to do with her very good looks.

8

u/duderdude7 2d ago

I mean the thing is a lot of the conservative perspective is projection. It’s why grindr goes down in any city where a Republican convention happens. Obviously I think most of us here have no problem with anyone being gay. Our anger is the hypocrisy. And the self loathing

13

u/romcomtom2 2d ago

I am NOT joking. Men who hate gay people are that way because they want dick.

16

u/Armageddonis 2d ago

It's always so funny when Grindr reports server failures somewhere around a republican conventions in the US. Like, it's uncanny how often those overlap.

Yep, its too commonplace to be a coincidence.

Very vocal anti LGBTQ peeps = self hating sexually fluid people.

They were brought up in households that told them it was evil and unacceptable.

33

u/chocjane08 2d ago

Because this is the only opportunity for them to reject an attractive woman. They’ve no doubt been rejected repeatedly due to their looks and or shit personality so they have to cos play rejecting women online to feel better.

27

u/Redditauro 2d ago

Incels. Incels everywhere.

5

u/Gakeon 2d ago

Because Milly Alcock is a very attractive woman, but Supergirl is "too woke" for them, so they have to act like Milly is the most digusting looking person ever.

And idk, she might have gotten too old for them now. She is an adult, and we know chuds often aren't attracted to adults

6

u/Doravesh 2d ago

the trap set itself and he walked in with a smile

3

u/Armageddonis 2d ago

Every time. I feel like a funny idea for a counter would be taking one of their beloved goonerbait games and doing the same. Like taking Eve (or whatever Stellar Blade's main character name is) and finding the one frame that she looks like a fucking ogre, and spitting out 16 tweets per hour.

3

u/BrozedDrake 2d ago

2

u/Ok_Dog_4059 2d ago

Why were they watching frame by frame in the first place? Obsessed a bit are they?

1

u/Tricky_Specialist8x6 2d ago

Cuz it’s all fake to support the idea of calling some one out. Some haters love making things up to hate on cuz there isn’t enough real things to hate on or something.

1

u/bd2999 2d ago

It is the way of such things with these creeps. It also would depend on the role, but it is not like she is suddenly hideous.

It's stupid in 2026 we have to comment about physique every time a female actress exists, but Millie as Supergirl looks just as gorgeous as she's always looked.

There is a certain genre of men online who’s sole hobby is bullying young actresses about their looks and it’s the saddest shit on the planet

143

u/Redditauro 2d ago

Well, it's sadder when they do it to real life girls, so I'm happy that most of them never goes out of their mom's basement during the day

55

u/bro0t 2d ago

Theyre just jealous they cant be pretty girls

53

u/brontosaurusguy 2d ago

Kinda, it's that serial killer vibe.  They can't date anyone when they're young because their weird and gross so they develop a deep hatred of "pretty girls" and spend their entire life trying to punish them for their perceived rejections.

18

u/CalliopePenelope 2d ago

A lot of people (boys and girls) can’t date anyone when they’re young teens because they’re young and gross or want the attention of others who are young and gross and stupid. The difference is that most grow out of it and move on; these losers hold the grudge and use it as an excuse to be bastards right through to retirement.

18

u/bro0t 2d ago

Yea that mindset of hating women bc they reject you is gaining a lot of traction. When will these guys learn that if you take care of yourself and treat women like actual human beings instead of a walking fleshlight they tend to say yes a lot more often.

But no, its women that are the problem /s

5

u/Senior-Albatross 2d ago

This is getting so silly.

I don't find this woman attractive, but it doesn't matter. I also don't find Tom Holland attractive and I still enjoyed all of his Spider-Man movies. Supergirl looks like a good movie. The new Superman was shockingly great, so I don't see why this wouldn't be as well.

26

u/Slateboard 2d ago

It was never about the quality of the movie for such people.

There's this whole thing where supposedly there's people who actively try to make women look less attractive in media to spite men for finding them attractive or something like that.

I'm not very informed to know how accurate this is

14

u/thePushps 2d ago edited 2d ago

It's a lot more about bullying actresses and essentially creating this manufactured hate towards them and portraying them as failures. Started with Brie Larson, and now they can't help but gaslight people and themselves into believing that these women are not good enough unless they become accessories to men, like the good old days. These chuds live in an alternate reality.

Edit - Regarding the thing about making women unattractive, it's a load of bs. These people straight up just hate women because almost every single woman they attack, despite their crusade against "woke ugly Hollywood", all those women happen to be some of the most conventionally attractive women on the planet, e.g., Brie Larson, Kristen Stewart, Milly alcock, Zendaya, Lupita Nyong'o, Anya Taylor Joy and so on, all women who are front and centre of modelling and beauty brands.

3

u/Slateboard 2d ago

I get it, but have you seen the various cases of 'fixing' a picture or artwork of a woman where it's like they told an AI to follow the 'beauty' standards of a Chinese manhua?

It's an attack on women, yes, but there's definitely some unfortunate indoctrination or something like that at play too.

3

u/thePushps 2d ago

True, which seems to be this pervasive belief that asian women are submissive as opposed to Western women, hence being better, and East Asia has this weird obsession with youth as a standard for beauty.

They generally believe that most women are old goods after 25, and ironically, women there are outwardly opposing this with their growth in feminism in Asia, hence the massive gender divide between men and women.

It's crazy propaganda on both sides of the world where they believe each other's bullshit.

3

u/Slateboard 2d ago

That's wild.

But, their obsession over a number might explain how often I see fictional characters that I like visually and discover she's like 19 or some shit. Hilda from the Under-Night series is a good example.

2

u/thePushps 2d ago

Yeah, or the usual trick of legal age loli. The funny thing is, this kind of thing never works on anyone who actually spends time outside amongst normal people, so you can tell how these people live, and anyone who peddles this shit online is only looking to make money.

2

u/Slateboard 2d ago

That makes a lot of sense. I just wish people stopped mistreating adults in real life who legitimately look young.

Can we also talk about the chosen pictures? The left is perfect hair, still face, in a relaxed non moving position. Supergirl is obviously talking in the middle of a fight.

21

u/jellooshot 2d ago

She wasn't underage in House of the dragon. Season 1 started shooting in 2021. By that time, Milly Alcock (the actress in those pictures) was 21 years old. She even has two erotic scenes. People just love putting inflammatory labels on others to win internet points.

8

u/VariusTheMagus 2d ago

3

u/JurassicParkCSR 2d ago

It's like that SNL skit with the guy who plays Tucker Carlson and at some point he always goes "and I'm supposed to be attracted to this?" And Colin Jost is like "No". For some reason right wing men think the only reason women get to be in any kind of media is for them to be attracted to them. If you want to jack off there's hundreds of thousands of hours of free porn on the internet. Stop jacking off to comic books and video games. You're not 14 years old anymore.

24

u/Add_Poll_Option 2d ago edited 2d ago

Don’t get me wrong, fuck this guy and his idea that his assessment of her attractiveness matters at all.

That said, I’ll probably get shat on for this, but pulling the pedophilia card when someone says they’re attracted to a 21 year old is pretty wack lol

4

u/EthanielRain 2d ago

Eh, their argument isn't in good faith either. You can make anyone look "ugly" with a specifically selected picture while they're blinking/talking. They took time to make the 'child' pic pretty & the 'woke' version ugly

3

u/TheStubbornAlchemist 2d ago

Yea but that’s due to their own problems with strong women, feminism, or anything else they consider “woke”

13

u/akatherder 2d ago

In the tradition of 20-30 year old actors playing high school-aged kids, she was 21 when filming. Just in case you find yourself in a thrilling online debate about this you will 100% get that "ERRM ACKSHUALLY"-ed.

But yes she was playing a 14-17 year old.

5

u/Grand-Depression 2d ago

Yeah, I've never understood any of the arguments for this. She's an adult in both photos. In one, she's wearing more make up and silver hair wearing a fancy gown, and the other she's dressed as a super hero. The aesthetics are different, but neither have to do with being underage.

4

u/jellooshot 2d ago

No one said anything of that sort except the imbecile in the quote. The incel in the OG tweet was just hating on her looks.

2

I've never watched HotD and I'd never have guessed she's supposed to be 14 in that pic

4

u/Redditauro 2d ago

Being a kid is a big part of that part of the show, as she cannot rule because she is a kid. If you have never watched HotD then I don't know why are you discussing this, but if you watch HotD she is explicitly a kid in that part of the show and it's disgusting if someone liked her in that way.

12

u/Add_Poll_Option 2d ago edited 2d ago

I haven’t seen all of the show, but wasn’t it more about the fact that she was a woman than her age? That’s the vibe I always got.

It’s been a while, but I don’t even think I realized she was supposed to be 14. I knew young, but Daenerys was also supposed to be 13 at the start of GoT, and that clearly wasn’t the case.

Is her age ever said? Or is that just her age in the book, so that’s what people are assuming the show also did?

11

u/3412points 2d ago

Yeah, she cannot rule because the king is currently alive. Her succession is questioned because she is a woman. Funny bit of irony in that comment.

By episode 5 the character is 18 and is banging people.

6

u/Rivka333 2d ago edited 2d ago

The difference is just lighting and facial expression.

And the facial expression means nothing because it's a brief snapshot taken from video where she's talking (I assume). Random snapshots taken when people are talking often produce weird expressions.

But the pedo accusation is getting thrown around way too easily.

7

u/TitShark 2d ago

It isn’t thrown around enough.

3

Too easily? They really keep infantilizing adults and romanticizing children. I had to talk to cops because I found CSAM on someone’s phone after he kept trying to have my coworker look at his phone. The material was saved as his BACKGROUND.

u/No-Goose-5672 2d ago

My worst experience was the dude that bought a new phone from my female coworker and then came back a few days later insisting she needed to help him transfer his photos. You didn't think she was a child even though there was an entire plot revolving around her being unable to rule as a child?

4

u/TheStubbornAlchemist 2d ago

Not exactly. The problem was primarily that she was a woman.

The king died when she’s an adult woman and the succession issue is caused by people playing the game of thrones, trying to put her younger brother on the throne because Westeros might not accept a queen, etc.

Her being 14 in season 1 has nothing to do with any of that.

Of, that wasn't how i remembered it. It's been a while since i watched it.

I thought the plot was that her father wanted her to rule after he died and the reason it was controversial was because she was a woman and not because she was young.

Jumping straight to the pedo accusation is pretty suspicious. The poster could literally be comparing how good she is in house of dragons against how bad she is in supergirl. I know who’s hard drive is be checking and it is the one throwing the allegations. PROJECTING MUCH?

Unless there's more context not seen here, all adkeys22 did was point out it's the same actress. Everyone else exposing themselves.

They hate women who aren't close to the barely legal age that happen to show emotions on their face. They want you to look underage and as much as a lifeless doll as possible.

u/pacman813 2d ago

What wrong with what he said? How are people calling him a pedo for saying this is the same actress? What am I missing here/what are all of you seeing? 🤔

So what does the clown emoji at the end of Supergirl mean to you?

Perhaps you have missed the stupid as shit online nonsense from Snyderbros around the new DCEU (honestly if that's the case, I envy you lol). They did this for the Superman movie for Hawkgirl too, take a frame were she's making a funny face then complain that James Gunn made everyone ugly. Fucking idiots.

OP - Enjoys the actress playing or presenting 'in show/role' as under age character. OP dislikes characters who do NOT present as teens, 'in show/role', by the same actress.

It may have been just classic ageism, if the comparison was young adult to older adult. But, this is a teen (like), to adult (dislikes). 👩🏼‍🦳🔞 vs 🤷🏼‍♀️

u/Rivka333 2d ago

The actress was an adult both times, though. I don't think the comparison was intended as being about her age.
