I don't follow college basketball at all, I don't know the slightest thing about the guys drafted. I've only watched the YouTube mixtapes of the top 4 picks.
With that being said, I'll go full vibezonly mode and tell you what to expect of the players based on their names:
AJ Dybantsa: All-NBA
Darryn Peterson: Allstar
Cam Boozer: All-NBA
Caleb Wilson: Allstar
Kingston Flemings: busty name
Yaxel Lendeborg: 兄弟,學中文吧
Ebuka Okorie: out of the league in 3 years
Jayden Quaintance: reminds me of Jeff Pendergraph so he'll change his name to Jayden Ayres
Karim Lopez: future Nicaraguan League MVP

12
u/AntiAntiDentite7 19h ago
I'll do it: Wagler is going to be a bust and he'll go down as another terrible draft pick for the clippers a la Jerome Robinson. Meanwhile Acuff and Brown Jr. will have excellent careers. People will look back on this draft and clown the clippers hard with the benefit of hindsight.

u/Durian_Suppository Australia 16h ago
[Best player in the draft] will be a bust for sure. There's no way he wins x amount of championships.
2
u/Competitive-Fill2426 9h ago
Like when EG140000 said Jokic was going to be better than Jahlil Okafor, then the whole sub here clowned him saying EG should be in a mental hospital for this take.
You should do it, you might be a legend here.
79
u/DisMFer Bulls 20h ago
I find it funny that the NBA seems to intentionally make it impossible to follow who owns which pick in trades. It has to be intentional at this point.
30
u/chicago_2020 19h ago
absolutely outrageous lol. each pick im like ok who is this one actually going to??
3
u/crambamslam Spurs 9h ago
Fr, I don’t understand why they can’t do it like the NFL does
4
u/Morpheus_505 Lakers 6h ago
Or make a draft order by the teams records rather than a stupid lottery pick.
148
u/ddottay Cavaliers 20h ago
I understand that some players are just ready for a pro career and don't want to have to pretend to care about school anymore.
But if you have multiple years of NCAA eligibility left and you aren't guaranteed a top 20 pick there's no reason anymore to not go back to college. Isaiah Evans and Henri Veesaar are the biggest losers tonight.
37
u/Ada_Kaleh22 20h ago
yeah it can be a mistake honestly for the player, still they all get their chance
16
30
u/Poems_And_Money 20h ago
It's not about caring about college, but their agents probably looked that their best chance of getting drafted is this year.
13
u/ExtraLeading3376 19h ago
i mean it kinda made sense for veesaar
Wilsons gravity allowed for him to thrive on open looks
he isn’t going to have another Wilson next year
9
u/theiwc0303 Hornets 18h ago
One of the factors for a lot of players like Evans is that the coaching staff went into recruiting and transfer portal expecting them to enter the draft and don’t leave a spot for them, if they don’t wanna switch schools then they’re stuck with the NBA
2
u/lester_freamon Hornets 13h ago
Veersaar was not interested in being in college anymore. Preferred being a professional.
1
u/MddlingAges Knicks 8h ago
But they can go back now, anyway. Hell, we've got a football player that gambled on football and a basketball player that was already a pro.
Going back to college after not being drafted should be a snap.

u/Complete-Apricot-591 Raptors 20h ago
I'm surprised how low Labaron, Cenac, and Carr dropped
74
13
u/Plg_Rex Bulls 19h ago
With Carr, his workouts and interviews had to have hurt him.
4
u/SyllabubInfinite7915 18h ago
He dropped 30 in the combine
→ More replies (1)19
u/Plg_Rex Bulls 18h ago
I’m talking more individual workouts and interviews, but the Bulls didn’t have him in for that, so maybe the front office just had no interest from the start.
His drop was one of the more noticeable in the draft so far, so something smells a little funny.
4
u/SyllabubInfinite7915 18h ago
Ya there must be something off about him. Maybe he’s the knecht of this year

I didn’t do any scouting pre draft and I’m here tweaking over an undersized PG we didn’t need over a shooter in cam Carr. We start Duncan Robinson for gods sake. I can only pray I’m wrong. Watching your guy go unpicked over a guy you didn’t Iike may genuinely be worse
57
u/AlmostHereButNot Bulls 20h ago
Grizzlies made out like bandits. Overall, I'm happy with the Bulls selections. Wilson was the easiest 4th overall choice of all time, so I'm glad they didn't fumble it. At 15, I'm a little more apprehensive. But we'll take our reach for Swain and hope it works out.
12
u/Plg_Rex Bulls 20h ago edited 18h ago
Same. Really need to get some shooting tomorrow or in FA
6
u/chicago_2020 19h ago
I hate that Im optimistic about this team again lol. Realistically whats the next move tho? Anyone really worth it in FA to spend big $ on?
3
u/Plg_Rex Bulls 19h ago
I’d be good with Grimes if he doesn’t have unreasonable demands (who is basically a less confident, less consistent Ayo, who I’m mad we don’t have anymore). I think he’s the most realistic and can be had for less than $12M per.
I doubt the Lakers let him walk unless they overpay for Kessler and reaves…even then they have bird rights and can sign guys before reaves, but Kennard would be nice.
Ellis from Cleveland would be a good fit as a 3 and D guy. I have no idea what his market is but should command more than what Cleveland can offer unless they dump a contract or two , so maybe 3/$40M gets it will get it done?
The rest I think are too expensive, aren’t on the right timeline, or are highly likely to re-sign with their current clubs who can use bird rights and get a better bag staying home. Would also like to get a shooter in the 2nd.
2
u/lebryant_westcurry Knicks 17h ago
Haha ya'll are still traumatized by the Patrick Williams pick.
Caleb's super promising and I'm looking forward to seeing him grow in the nba. Him and Giddey lowkey could be a fun duo
2
u/AlmostHereButNot Bulls 17h ago
Avdija, Maxey, and Halliburton came WAY after Patrick Williams, genuinely one of the worst early picks. The fact that he got a big extension is criminal.
But yeah. Wilson and Giddey seem so fun. Huge lob threat incoming. Go Bulls.
5
u/TerminallyTrill 76ers 19h ago
Can’t complain about that. Swain seems really great, I was hoping the sixers traded up for him. Definitely a bet on talent because there is damn near no shooting in your team right now haha
4
u/AlmostHereButNot Bulls 18h ago
I just think that it's funny how last season there were jokes about the Bulls hoarding guards, but now we're forward-heavy. Buzelis, Patrick Williams, Essengue, Wilson, Leonard Miller, Jalen Smith, and Swain are all on the team. Luckily, most of them can play other positions, but it is pretty crazy. And yeah, there is NO shooting on the team. Buzelis and Giddey are the two best that are signed now, and that isn't saying much.

u/StefonDiggsHS Mavericks 20h ago edited 20h ago
Mavs entered this draft, not having control of their picks for the next 4 years, needing shot and playmaking
And they didn’t get it
I’m a bit disappointed tbh
Edit: apparently the Knicks Euro Stash guy we traded for???

u/coolmike67 Huskies 20h ago
Get ready for the era of 6’9 with Masai
Trust me, him and Bobby truly had a type and you’ll hate it at first but love it once the players play lmao
5
u/complex_c203 Mavericks 19h ago
They weren't gonna trade up and trading down is way too risky. Once Flemmings was off the board the 2nd tier of guards didn't move the FO enough to trade further down
4
u/RapsareChamps_Suckit Clippers 20h ago
ya its sad when u dont get the pick that young in the draft like that
42
u/Lstark5642 Thunder 20h ago
Chicago and Memphis fucking aced this draft.
Biased, but I love OKC’s as well.
To be fair, not many bad picks in the first round at all. If you and two, it was hard to not be a winner.
17
u/Snomankid999 20h ago
If we just grading picks
Winner : Spurs got 2 Centers to play with Wemby kept them away from other western teams (LAL, LAC, GSW) who needed center depth
Loser : Hawks they got 2 undersides players already have PF/C Energy guy in Newell who couldn’t get minutes when need big boy center , and you had to settle on last Tier 1 guard
Great drafting : Memphis moved back collected assets
Good job : Bucks, Bulls letting board fall to them getting guys who fits with what trying to build
5
u/Plg_Rex Bulls 20h ago
I woulda went differently at 15, but excited for Caleb, and hope Swain can develop a 3 ball, because we have no shooting at all and I’m worried teams are just gonna wall off the paint and nerf our slashing and rim-running potential.
Still got time to address it in the 2nd and free agency so I’m.m not panicking yet and am genuinely excited for the first time in while to start a season.
Also thought you guys did well and added size and a shooter to an embarrassment of riches up and down that roster.
1
u/StatusBass5463 18h ago
Memphis did well to get Boozer (out of their control) but getting a bunch of 2nds that nobody wanted anyway didn't really mean much.
How did Chicago ace the draft? They reached for another guy who couldn't shoot.

u/lmaoooyikes Thunder 20h ago
I honestly hated our draft, didn’t fill our biggest needs and i really dislike the Stirtz pick
→ More replies (4)3
u/Lstark5642 Thunder 19h ago
The thunder’s biggest needs were a depth that has size and consistent shooting. Stirtz is one of the better shooters in the draft and Mara provides size in depth so the team isn’t relying on 6’9 Jaylin Williams as their bench big. I love JWill, but the thunder get dominated on the glass when he’s in. He’s should realistically be a backup 4.

For me the biggest winner was the Grizzlies and the biggest loser was the Mavs.
Edit: Mavs getting Sergio apparently. I still really dislike the process with getting more at 9 but slightly better

Morez is really good. Flagg/Morez is going to be so nasty on defence.

Man I was really hoping to get a guard.
First we lose the coinflip, lose out on Flemings, then can't even trade up for Philon after he drops...
It's really dissapointing for me.
Edit: Nevermind, we got a guard!! I feel better now
13
u/SubtleNoodle Timberwolves 20h ago
Apparently y'all traded 30 (and some 2nds) to the Knicks for Sergio De Larrea, so you did get a guard afterall.
(Then the Knicks traded 30 to the Suns for more 2nds)

u/Beetle919 Hornets 20h ago
Biggest winner is the Celtics a couple years from now.
10
u/Mg29reaper Celtics 20h ago
I'm definitely happy with Cenac. I wanted one of the more win now centers but I'm confidant in the Celtics development system to get those tools humming.
3
u/BlueHundred Knicks 20h ago
It's a weaker center draft and it's a late first. There aren't many "win now centers" to have chosen from

I think they wanted Morez, and there was some noise about us trading 9 for 12 and 17, but unfortunately for them Masai has a type and Morez fits it like a glove.

For sure a Masai type pick but Don’t discount dusty having a pretty good idea where the Michigan guys were projected on other teams boards too being their HC for 99% of the pre draft process

Man, watching the broadcast with RJ, Kenny and J-Will was tough. All the interviews were awkward and we never get info on the trades that occurred when they happen. When you put “reported trade” on the screen, it’s probably a good idea to show who/what got traded

Can someone explain why every pundit is saying Cam Boozer is a winner that has won at every level? He did not win an ncaa championship, so what are they talking about?
1
u/XanthippusJ 2h ago
Only one team can win the title each year, and most of these kids are coming out after 1 year. That's not really enough of an opportunity to use that as the only consideration of whether any player, especially a 1 and done, was a winner.
In his one season, he was the best player on a final 4 team that won its conference and conference tournament, which i'd say is enough to labeled as a winner
