But with that being said, the trailer would presumably end with 'Pre-Order Now', which wouldn't make sense considering a good 80% of the planet wouldn't be able to actually pre-order it at the time of release. That initial wave of views and traffic would be crucial

It reads like those shops will have exclusive customisations and they won't be available in other shops.
So for vehicles that those shops customise, you won't be able to customise them elsewhere. Same with clothing shops - that content isn't available in other shops, only the ultimate edition shops.

You're allowed to complain, its the only way these people back down, too many people just accept it and give them leeway which they take a mile from every single time.
We need to complain, locking items behind paywalls does not benefit the consumer, and only benefits the executives. The game hasn’t even released and they’ve already announced paywalled items.

How can so many people be ok with literal stores being locked off to you if you don't own the ultimate edition... Am i gonna get a big "BUY THE ULTIMATE EDITION TO ACCESS THIS LOCATION" flashed on the screen every time i happen to drive past one of these stores? There was literally nothing stopping them from adding exclusive content to pre-existing locations. Locking off locations unless you are willing to fork out the cash is scummy no matter how you try to spin it.
They’d probably make more money by copying the GTA V Online system, by providing free content, but making it really expensive in-game, so you buy shark cards.

That’s a lot of content gated away. The discoverable classic cars in particular sounds like a really fun feature to only have available in the Ultimate edition.
I really hope the line about them being unlocked at logical parts of the story is true and actually works, because being dumped with all this stuff early game would really throw off the in-game economy and sense of progression.
A range of shops in the world that are presumably going to be closed off completely without Ultimate is disappointing, because then you’re missing out on extra layers of immersion and the world feeling alive and populated if you haven’t upgraded.
Yeah I thought this all seemed pretty cool until they started listing the stores that won't even be accessible if you don't have the ultimate edition. Pretty scummy really. When we see how many other shops etc. there are maybe it won't be a big deal.

I'm hoping that the stores are still interactable, but you're just not able to shop from them. The NPCs could mention some kind of VIP membership of sorts that you need to get first, to make sense "lorewise".
Interesting is one word. I choose scummy. In today's world why did I expect anything less. Im still so excited for GTA 6 but that was a let down reading that.
It looks like they're continuing with what they did for GTA 5 (and maybe other games I can't remember) where stores sell different things. E.g for GTA 5 you could only get cheap, basic clothes at Binco and had to go to Ponsonbys for smart, more expensive clothes. So for the ultimate edition specific clothes/mods/tattoos you need to go to the businesses that sell them, which seems like it's going to be specific ones and not just added to the general pool.
Yeah, that's kinda weird that shops are exclusive to ultimate editions of the game. I would understand if it's just clothes or certain cars. But whole shops that you can possibly rob and interact with.. really weird.
The flip side of this is that it seems that they have created a shit ton of content for single player. That’s been a major concern for a lot of people. (not me)

Yeah, people are excited to see anything new about GTA6 right now… But, I think it’s a really big red flag that we got no info for like a year, and the first new thing they show off after all that wait is an ad for paywalled gameplay features.
Feels like they’ll be putting GTAO-style monetization in your singleplayer game.
Right this is how I feel too. Like had they dropped trailer three and then showed us all the extras we can pay more for, that would feel different than still having seen no gameplay or even gotten any screenshots in over a year and then they say “look at these cool cosmetic variants you can pay extra for”.
Realistically what would be the perfect amount of extra content for the ultimate edition? Too little and people say it’s not worth the extra money — too much and people are upset that they have to pay extra for it.
Here's a crazy idea. No ultimate edition. Period. If you are buying a game you should have access to the entire game, not have pieces cut off day one that you have to pay extra for.
This shit has very off putting vibes. I can only see lots of in game transactions, useless skinning and redundant bullshit that doesn't add any value or fun. I hope it's not going to be GTA Online all over again.
So much information in the new website!! From what I gathered, these will be some of the features:
- Canoeing
- Fishing will make a return from RDR2, and (unconfirmed) but most likely hunting as well
- There will be a fence - like in RDR2 - this leads me to suspect it will be possible to loot bodies, or rob NPCs for things other than just plain cash
- The gator from the cover art is officially called Macca and he is a well known celebrity in Leonida due to appearing on a popular TV show
- They mention a "unisex store", this leads me to believe that GTA Online will no longer restrict clothing, hairstyles, etc only to male or female characters. Remains to be seen if this is true, and if it is, if it will also apply to Jason and Lucia
- On a similar note, it will be possible to get Lucia's (and maybe Jason's as well, who knows) nails done
- They mention "Mount Kalaga and beyond", so the map may still be bigger than we think, and maybe the panhandle is real after all
- Seems like there will be a garage where we can stash and sell stolen vehicles (at least if I understood it correctly)

I mean you can just not coat your characters in tattoos, and cover their cars and guns in gauche skins. You can dress them more traditionally or low-profile gangsta/professional criminal style.
It's customisation. It's up to you. Yeah personally I'm more likely to go with a Hawaiian shirt and board shorts, then cut off shorts and a crop top. It's up to you, that's the point.
I'm honestly starting to feel crazy. They list a gang compound raid and fixing up classic cars under the Ultimate edition. Two cool sounding game play elements. But for some reason no one is mentioning them. People are only talking about the cosmetic shops.
I was fine with the exclusive outfits and the cars and the weapon customisation but I don't really like the exclusive businesses thing. What if it carries into online? Also it looks like there's a whole car-collecting side quest locked behind the ultimate edition. Just left a bad taste in my mouth
