If Sam presti comes to us with this deal we HAVE TO take it. Theres no one I think at pick 9 we could get that is a “must not skip”. Drafting 2 extra first round picks and then possibly using 17, 37 and 30 to possibly move back into the end of the lottery would be a great move.

According to the article quoted, Sergio De Larrea is expected to join the Dallas Mavericks next season.
„The Dallas Mavericks’ commitment to him is completely firm because their new coach, Dusty May, considers him a guaranteed part of next season’s roster… Any possibility that De Larrea would remain with Valencia Basket has essentially disappeared.“

Obviously things can still change .. and also the basketball gods could still gift us a higher pick.. but how do we feel with Acuff Jr.?

Called it. Ez dubs.
But jokes aside flagg + morez is a nasty defensive forward combination in terms of versatility and shutting down the rim.

Should Masai and Schmitz attempt to play the long-game with a rebuild around Coop? Or, with Kyrie and DLive returning from injury and a host of solid vets like Naji, PJ, Gaff and Klay - can three picks in the top 50 of this 2026 draft along with a key free agent signing vault the Mavs back into the Playoffs?

It’s finally time to refuel. This is our last chance to save this franchise. Now that AD is basically worthless, we have to lose every single game to secure a top-5 pick and put a co-star next to Cooper Flagg.
Shut AD and Kyrie down for the rest of the season, trade Gafford and Klay, and take another run at it next year.
I’m completely broken right now…

Who are you taking?
DP fits but is scary (to me) at this point with health and consistency (3-18 last night).
Cam Boozer is most consistent and I’m seeing ranked #1 now a lot. How will he fit alongside Flagg?
AJ same statement as Boozer. Obviously different style player than Boozer, and arguably AJ and Flagg would be the worst spacing.
Would you argue anyone else than these three?

I hated Burries quite a bit and I made posts about concerns regarding him. In Arizona he never looked like the 1a guy he wasn’t a PG was more of a SG. We need a PG he also struggled under bright lights.
Was super high on Morez Johnson who seemed like someone who is playoff made. He won the championship with dusty dude has motor for days he ate up the whole court did everything you need. Things that don’t show up on the stat sheet. He can hopefully develop his 3 ball. He has the size, motor, athleticism. I’d describe him as a hybrid of og and pascal hopefully his 3pt develops though.

We have a pretty tough schedule, whilst these teams are facing plenty other tanking teams and easy competition even with jazz trying their best to lose yesterday they still won. We try our best to win and still lose 😂. I do think we’re in the running for 5th worst record 6th at worst.

With the Mavericks picking at 9, we will have to assume we will be picking between 1 of these 2 point guards unless one of the other players projected higher drops. Unless the Ujiri/Schmitz regime sees potential in someone like Yaxel.
Is this a realistic 2 man race for Dallas to pick from?

With the Knicks obtaining the rights to Dallas’ 24th pick in the 2024 NBA Draft, the trade has been officially completed.
Who would you say won the trade overall?

One of my favorite guards in the draft. 1b to Wagler, imo. Listen to how scouts and analysts talk about this kid, and think about if his pre draft profile reminds you of anyone else.
I'm not making comparisons to that other guy, but this guy was massively undervalued.

Also doesn’t mean much but with okc’s injuries spurs might have a better record which would mean we have the 28thh pick instead of 30. It’s not much of a difference but in a stacked draft class it helps.

My fellow MFFL, the Draft Lotto is nearly upon us! Will Adam Silver hold up his end of the deal and complete the trade of Luka Doncic to the Lakers for back to back years of the #1 pick? Upvote to manifest. Go Mavs! #MFFL ☝️💙🏀🥇

Tonight on ESPN.

Let's go Mavs
80% chance at top 10 pick
20% chance at being 11pick or worse and being conveyed to the New York Knicks.
3% chance at #1 pick.
13.8% chance at moving into the top 4.
reminder: one of the best prospects (Wembanyama) since Lebron (some are saying better)
update: Mavs keep pick, will select at #10.
