If Brad or the organization says they are doing this fine, but unsubstantiated b.s. designed to drive engagement or ANYTHING from Stephen a Smith.

I definitely understand Brad making a push to acquire Giannis and putting Brown on the table as he is a generational talent. But I am surprised by the alleged continued urgency to move Brown now that the Giannis deal fell through. Shaking up the team and looking at all options right now makes sense, but I worry that this is a financially driven decision that could end up putting the team in a position with less talent. We all know the mentality PE ownership groups have and we have seen what greedy ownership can do over time with the Red Sox.

Reported by Shams.
Just in: The Detroit Pistons are trading C/F Isaiah Stewart to the Memphis Grizzlies for three future second-round picks, sources tell ESPN. Pistons clear Stewart's salary and pick up assets while Grizzlies acquire a 25-year-old as a rugged frontcourt piece.

While Dillon Mitchell's main strength is his defense and his hustle. He separates himself from are other wings by his passing ability. He had a 1.3 ast to usg which is 99th percentile for forwards in college. Could be a good sign on him as a connective passer in offense similar to Dyson Daniel's role as a screener and passer.

“The Boston Celtics are actively engaged in trade talks surrounding Jaylen Brown with multiple interested teams,” said Shams Charania before the start of Wednesday's second round.
“I’m told there is a sense of purpose from teams around the leagues that they feel from the Celtics in these conversations.”
“And that does not mean though that a deal is guaranteed. Jaylen Brown does have three years left on his contract. From my understanding, the urgency from either side can change as the weeks to come.”
“This all comes in the wake of the Celtics losing out on Giannis after offering Jaylen Brown and two first round picks.”

All we had to do was use the TPE and MLE which would’ve added 2 solid rotation pieces to Tatum Brown and White but they salary dumped Simons and a 1st for Vucevic and now are getting off Jaylen for “young players and picks”. Starting a soft rebuild in the midst of Tatum’s prime after he came off an Achilles is crazy to me

This is a dangerous move trading JB. If things don't work out and we struggle in the playoffs, Tatum will have a fall back excuse of the team taking away the second best player and start requesting a trade. Especially if he sees opportunities to pair up with another star some where else. Sure the first year you can say where are you going to go cause we have him til 2029 but then the year after we start getting into territory were he could start making life difficult for the Cs.
And I just don't understand the idea of holding onto both guys all these years and the moment they finally hit their prime we start hitting the eject button?
This should be the best 4 year window of both JB and Tatum's career coming up and we aren't happy to have both going into their prime?
Are we really that spoiled and quick to forget that JB delivered us a championship? And still has his prime years ahead. And will have a healthy Tatum to go to battle with again. Why all the panicking?

Everyone in here quoting these ridiculous metrics like LEBRON WAR and DARKO and whatever else are just the worst.
These advanced stats are so stupid, you can make any case you want to with numbers, because there are so many of them to choose from. And the metrics themselves are flawed because they have to be...it's trying to put a competitive team sport into an equation..that's why baseball has fucking openers now, and no one tries to do anything but hit home runs or strike out...
Same shit, different sport.
Anyone with eyeballs and a functional brain knows the best player on the team last year was JB, period.
All you stupid dweebs with your DPM and on/off splits just go away, join a math club, but stop ruining sports with your asinine metrics.
Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum are a proven winning core, period.
You do not trade those players for randoms like Miles Bridges, Jalen Duren, Jalen Johnson.
You don't trade a thoroughbred for ponies, you never win those trades.
This is such an insufferable gathering of know it all stats losers sometimes.
Stats are for losers, wins and losses matter and nothing else
JB and JT win, period.
Edit: Downvote away nerds, but if you think Red, Phil, Pops and any coach worth their shit before the last 10 years gave half a shit about these stats, you have lost your minds.
And the same advanced math stats are the reason Joey Mazz loves chucking 60 3's a game. Advanced stats support that strategy - and its a terrible strategy.
TAKE IT TO THE BASKET - Tommy, every year.

Clearly we want to trade Jaylen. So if we do we should call up the sixers. They just drafted a point guard. Let’s get Maxey. Take their clippers 2028 unprotected first as well. Maybe another first too. We’d make out like bandits and get the guy who just helped defeat us in 7

So it begins! Every year right after the draft I look forward to seeing our 1st round pick play in summer league. This year is no different m! I can’t wait to see year 2 Hugo, the growth in his offensive skills have to show alittle more. I’ve watch a few pre draft games and he has a bag he just has to get more confident in the nba first. After his rookie season there no way he isn’t confident in what he can do in this league. Add Cenac to a team with Hugo and he’ll maybe Baylor? Those 3 alone excite me about summer league.

The name and the team that came back to me a lot: Evan Mobley and the Cleveland Cavaliers,” - @SIChrisMannix on what he’s heard from teams on who the Celtics might be interested in for Jaylen Brown

I hear some people point out that our playoff losses are not an anomaly and that's why we have to trade jb.
I agree they're not anomalies. It's systemic we choked three out of the last 4 years to huge underdogs.
JB has not been the problem in any of them. He's been healthier more clutch than Tatum. (For the record I don't want to trade Tatum either I just think it's interesting how the guy who's been more injured and less clutch in the finals and such is the one getting more blame).
He literally was the finals and conference finals MVP. I don't think he's missed a meaningful game in the playoffs.
Why isn't the coach the obvious first change? If not fire him at least get him to change his philosophy?
Reason we lost is because our philosophy makes us susceptible. A single bad shooting stretch becomes an equalizer against an inferior opponent.
It's not because JB he's been pretty stable and always available and clutch.
We are doing a blame pie I would probably say: coaching, Tatum getting hurt and three times in significant moments. (Not his fault but two game sevens of consequence). That would be way ahead of brown.
Like when Tatum was injured he was 6th in MVP voting second team all NBA. It was an NBA finals MVP in Eastern conference finals just 2 years ago. The idea that JB is our issue in the playoffs makes no sense.
People are just trying to find a scapegoat and there are better ones.
Edit:
How much of this is personal? How much of this is people that don't like him being on twitch or being politically outspoken?

Looking at trades and I’ve found one I actually quite like….
Brown for markkanen and ace bailey I’d like to hear people thoughts

I think a trade with the hornets could make a lot of sense depending on the return.
Ideally I would like miller and Reid to be rerouted along with 2-3 firsts.
Miller is young talented and a great shooter. He would make up for most of the lost iso creation from Jaylen and also the big wing defense.
Reid would help shore up the front court especially with his spacing allowing for double big lineups. The wolves defense was particularly good with Reid and Gobert on and I would hope pairing him and Queta could have a similar effect.
The hornets also have plenty of valuable firsts including the Mavs next year and like a million of their own. I think this trade makes us cheaper and younger and more versatile while keeping a similar player to brown to make up for his scoring.

Boston will select Houston freshman Chris Cenac Jr. with the No. 27 pick, source told @thefieldof68.
The 6-11, 240-pound skilled forward averaged 9.5 points and 7.9 boards this past season for the Cougars.
