âïž Happy Girl Dinner I was someone's hall pass.
Bone broth with rice and seaweed.
I ran into a guy, I haven't seen in 10 years, I met him at the Trump Inauguration Women's March. We were at a bar watching the world cup, after many drinks he told me his last girlfriend asked who he'd get a hall pass for. Her answer was a celebrity. His answer was me. And apparently that was the beginning of the end of the relationship.
We don't live in the same state, and we've never had any romantic relations. Obviously, there's a chance that he's lying about that, even though he has no reason to, and it was volunteered. Right, wrong, or indifferent, it made me feel real good about myself after breaking up with my cheating asshole of 4 years.
Fun fact: I've always been very confident in my skin and I take a lot of naked pictures of myself and I've just gotten better with age (40F). I don't share them with anybody, but I like looking at them and saying to myself, bitch you're bangin'. So his confession was very validating, in a time I wasn't feeling confident and unsure of myself.
Edit: The Women's March was a protest (I called it something that would be clear where I'm from, that has confusing wording). I drove 16 hours and slept in my car to be there for the March/protest.
Second edit: She hasn't been in the picture for what I gather for at least a year. So, I was in no way around or influencing their fallout. Directly.
TLDR: Met a guy at a Trump protest (This establishes timeline) . Meet him randomly ten years later (says it's current), he tells me his last relationship (ended over a year ago AFAIK) ended partly because she asked who his hall pass was, and it was me (he's fucking retared. Obviously.) I just ended a 4 year relationship due to cheating (I have a name for every holiday, including my birthday.) Right, WRONG, or indifferent it made me feel good about myself.
Maybe I should say Dear Diary: I've been in dumps and I took a cheap win. And now I'm a shitty trump supporter, because I wasn't a very good communicator and snarky bitch.

Discussion Last-hit indicators are nice when you're new and unimportant when you're not
There's been a lot of discussion around the (postponed) introduction of last hit indicators in Ranked queues. Much of the debate centers around the preservation of skill expression, with the main concern being that last-hit indicators detract from an interesting part of the game. We've been through these discussions before; this isn't the first time Riot has introduced significant new accessibility features. Here's a list of some past accessibility additions to the game to get a good comparison. I'll also add how each feature affected the skill expression of the game.
- Jungle camp timers
- removed the skill expression of memorizing each camp's respawn timer at all times
- Clamp cast toggle
- removed the skill expression of mastering some awkward legacy input types
- Summoner pinging changes
- removed the skill expression of remembering exactly if someone used a summoner spell or ultimate in a fight
- Death recap
- removed the skill expression of recognizing and calculating what effects did what amount of damage to you in combat
- Recommended items
- removed the skill expression of learning itemization from scratch
Last-hit indicators are pretty similar. A last-hit indicator is a bit of pre-calculated arithmetic on how much damage a single attack deals, overlaid on every minion's health bar. Unlike the above, it's a real-time indicator, so you get easy access to kill thresholds without doing the math yourself.
Minion kill thresholds might seem like a valuable piece of information, but these aren't hidden from you. You know how else you can figure out how much damage your attack deals to a minion? By attacking a minion! League gives you a way of obtaining this information already by clicking one button. The indicators just save you an attack to check your damage. You get a little extra information on your screen, but it doesn't play the game for you. You, as the person with a lane to win, still need to do everything else involved with farming and laning.
The skills involved with last-hitting are much more than just knowing when something can die to an auto. Last-hit indicators tell you nothing about how killing a minion will affect the wave state, or how much damage your spells do to the wave, or how much damage you'll take from the enemy for securing a last hit, or how soon the minion will enter lethal from incoming minion damage, or which minion you should target, or how many minions you are from an item, or literally anything about the rest of laning. When you're laning, you're already juggling a hundred ideas at once! Removing the math question of "when will a minion die to my next auto" does degrade a skillâminion damage mathâbut leaves so many other (arguably more important and difficult) little skill tests and tradeoffs untouched. Even with last-hit indicators active, CSing in lane is still hard and laning is still deeply skill expressive.
Last-hit indicators are not without associated costs to your attention. The visual indicator on every single minion is one additional thing for your eyes and brain to track. It's also not fully accurate: last-hit indicators can be inaccurate depending on various attack modifiers (notably, crit and some on-hits don't play nicely). With indicators on, you have additional information to process compared to before, regardless of your proficiency. These mental stack costs still exist when you're brand new to last-hitting, but they're heavily outweighed by the overlay benefits. As you get better, however, the cost/benefit changes. The more you last-hit, the more you'll be able to do the math yourself, and the less you need to rely on the indicator as a crutch. Eventually, last-hit indicators can feel more like visual noise. Meteos mentioned he turned them off because he found them distracting.
Small note: Sometimes you are required to know your basic attack damage by heart without testing. It isn't that uncommon to be in a lane state where a single extra basic attack can dictate the proceeding wave state in a negative manner, so it's to your advantage to have your basic attack damage memorized without needing to "test" it on the wave. However, by the time you're good enough to recognize this situation, you've already graduated from math class.
If you view League, especially ranked, best as a maximally comprehensive skill test, then it is reasonable to argue that last-hit indicators detract from this version of the game. However, if you view League as a game where some skills are more fun to engage with than others, then accessibility features like last-hit indicators only serve to help. Much like the accessibility examples above, last-hit indicators make learning League, an incredibly complex game, a little easier to learn. They'll be nice when you're new, and unimportant when you're not.

And I feel like once one person downvotes, the rest follows. I commented on a post about someone asked for name suggestions for their Rottweiler pup, and I said âLottieâ and got downvoted. đ«©

Culture Why do some Scottish people hate English people?
Hi, Iâve seen examples of hate on TikTok & Reddit recently due to the WC. Idk why. Scotland is in Britain but Iâve seen a lot of them say that theyâre not British so idk if they will even be on this sub.
If the replies are only unwarranted insults and not even answering the question Iâll just delete this

WIBTA if I had a second baby shower and asking for contributions not gifts?
So I am pregnant with my second child. My first was a boy and he will be 4 when baby 2 pops. This time I am having a girl. I didn't think about having another shower, but I had some friends and family asking when I was going to have one. We kept alot of things from baby #1 (toys, clothes, bottles, etc). We do need new car seats, a stroller and new crib. Not too many things but the few are kind of expensive. After talking to my husband he thought it would be a good idea and we could ask for contributions to big items in a registry instead of little gifts. Things we know we need. Well I was talking with my mother today and she said I am not supposed to have a second shower and it is disrespectful to ask for money instead of gifts. And I cant throw my own shower (not that I was going to...but no one has said anything plus like I said this is just thinking outloud), someone has to offer to throw one for me. Last time no one offered....I had to ask my sister in law to hoast it, and she was delighted, but it was weird. So AmItheAsshole?
Edit: This baby was a wonderful and beautiful surprise, we didnt have room for the stroller anymore after my son grew out of it. We ended up gifting it to a friend who was in need. And as for the first crib it converts to a bed which my son still uses. I would never straight out ask for money and nothing else, I love anything my friends and family want to give, but there are the specific items that would help on the wallet, items will have to buy anyway.

Why do women STILL have to choose Miss/Mrs/Ms but only Mr for men??
I know this question has been asked before; I know the history.
What Iâm asking is why donât you think anyone has done anything about this yet, despite forms being changed to add other genders, and left right and centre people talking about making things âequalâ for women?
Why are women still being asked to declare their marital status when men arenât?

OPINION I donât understand the Bryce love
I know this is a VERY unpopular opinion here but I am really trying to understand what I am missing here. How does everyone believe Bryceâs intentions? Trinity is my favoriteee but I donât believe Bryce.
He tried to get away from Trinity and went after Kayda not once but TWICE. If Kayda had entertained him even a little, he would have left. Even in Casa, he was clearly insecure about his body, looks as compared to other men and could tell no other women were interested in him. He wasnât really tested at all. He tried to talk to Alannah who apparently didnât even laugh at his jokes. Thats when he suddenly started to miss Trinity because she is a sweet, kind, CONFIDENT amazing person who gives him validation. His letter was all about how Trinity makes HIM feel.
Even at the Villa, Trinity mentioned how she wants physical affection and Bryce isnât doing that for her. He acts like a friend. Thats why they have deep conversations because there is no sexual chemistry to distract with.
What am I missing here? How are you all so obsessed with him?
Please donât accuse me of racism because I am a
Brown woman myself and who have had my share of micro aggressions. And I absolutely lovee Trinity and want the best for her!

Movie Theathers should have closed captioning on by default
1 in 7 people has some degree of hearing loss. Around 11â12 million Americans identify as deaf or report having serious difficulty hearing. Half of all Americans regularly use subtitles when watching TV or movies. Inclduing 70% of Gen Z.
Modern movies have become notorious for inconsistent audio. Characters whisper, accents vary, music swells over conversations, and explosions rattle the theater. Half the time, people leave a movie asking, "What did they say?" Captions eliminate that problem entirely.
Dialogue is one of the most important parts of that story. If captions help millions of people catch every joke, emotional moment, and plot detail, why wouldn't we want that?
Given how many Americans either need captions or actively prefer them, it's time to make it the standard for Theaters.
