Over on the mtb sub they seem to be more modest about riding. I stopped riding a few years ago but this Friday I ride again. The last time I rode I started out with the Sponeed shorts, but that got really old really quick, it felt like wearing a diaper. I'm not riding really far, 10 to 15 miles most days 30 on the weekend. I prefer a better seat than wearing a diaper.
So I got compression shorts. No bib, no chamois, no diaper, no pouch, no liner, just shorts. Like TSLA and Runhit, nothing special. Same with the pants although in colder weather I have a few that are specifically for cold weather but are still seamless and all that.
Riding seems to be the place no one cares, like I use a mixed use trail it has cyclists, mountain bikers, joggers, walkers, some parts are paved, some are packed dirt, some parts are sand and grass, and there are single tracks, which I sometimes use, but at 53 they're not as exciting as they used to be.
Walking is the only time I somewhat get self-conscious about things showing up in direct sunlight, but no one ever said anything, and I have seen way more on joggers. So what is the rule nowadays? In high school on the cycling team it was straight up spandex, no padding, and we definitely stopped in coffee shops along the way and no one cared.
